- The songs included in this set were all recorded in an era where the single preceded the LP. Do you remember 45's? The songs are ALL hits and recorded between 1964 and 1968 in what has become known as "The Classic Five Era". The Temptations at that time featured Paul Williams, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin and Otis Williams. With Otis being the only surviving member. The album art shown is of the LP that the song appeared on and the scrolling captions describe the year the song was released as a single. I hope you enjoy this collection of Temptation hits. Indeed they were often imitated but never duplicated.

I’ve been up all night listening to these precious precious gold tunes it brings back very good memories . I’m in ATL Georgia with my daughter I’m on the couch she’s in the bed so she’ll see me in the morning still up well time just flies when 1960 sounds it’s the songs them had so much of meaning and just told a story and needless to say these voices are just so full of feeling and just having a good old time . I can even picture all my friends and family in each sound I can picture my husband who can always make me smile
I'm up all night listening in 2024. These songs bring back so many precious memories as well as some that are not so good. The Temptations will always be the best. I found myself dancing along too and reminiscing about my high school and military days. So glad I ran across this. I added it to my playlist, so I can listen everyday as I walk and workout.

It was like a dream come true living in Detroit during the early 60's! I had aunt that worked in Motown too. Her name was Ardena Johnson. Took me on several tours I got to meet Smokey, and Berry Gordy senior. He was an old man then he had all that gray hair. I'll never forget it. I saw David🤓one time going up Dumbarton right off of Grand River in a Black on black in black 65 El Dorado drop top Cadillac! It was just a fantastic City with them in the neighborhood. And then finally when we moved out of that hood we moved on Roselawn and 6 Mile where Eddie stayed right down the street!! He had a white and red El Dorado and a white and red Corvette but I never could catch him, he was out on the road all the time! It was just fantastic!! I can't even express it!! I'm listening to this music right now and I'm going back to when I was a kid dancing in those Detroit streets 🕺🏾!!

I have been Motown girl since i was 10yrs old. I used to go to a dance club twice a week when i was 14yrs old. They played only Tamla Motown music. Still crazy about it and now i am 70yrs old. Of course the Temps have always been a favourite of mine ❤😅😊

Everytime I hear the Temptations my thoughts and tears are on my dad. Didn't realize how those days that time in place would never ignite again. We all are so very much all alike in our experiences with this life. Although the ones that come up behind us won't have these sentiments because they aren't raised with their parents or even know their dads to experience this. Heartbreaking.

In 1965 they performed live in Compton ,California at a very small venture Bar settings. My cousin and I talk briefly with William and Otis , when a break was taken, they needed to update Barry on the progress of the concert that night that things were going as plan. WE WERE IN AWE how polite they were. The others they said left and was in the limo. Said it was their 1st concert in Cali. ❤❤🎉😂

As the children use to say, "I felt some kinda way"!!! I listened, sang, danced, cleaned the house a little, smiled and throughly enjoyed listening to these songs! It reminded me of my youth, living in North Phllly, going to the Uptown theater!!!! Truly Wonderful music!!!!

Grew up with them and they were my biggest influence in the way I sing.
My brother died on May , 18, 2021 at the age of 74 from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He love the the Temps, especially Paul. I found a gospel song by the Temps recorded in 1968. I had the the song played at his graveside service on May 22, 2021. The song was the "The Lord's Prayer" by the Temp with Paul Williams on lead. I thanks God for all the music they recorded. I went to the Apollo Theater every time the Motown Review was there mainly to see the tall, tan, and tempting Temptations. These men were handsome, phenomenal singers and dancers.
