The LARK M2 is the newest wireless microphone from Hollyland and might be my new favorite. Not only is it the smallest wireless microphone I own, it packs some serious range. Up to 1000ft!!! Watch my LARK M2 review and see it in action.
Buy the LARK M2 here: amzn.to/3tS721Q
Buy the LARK Max (other mic used in video): amzn.to/3RUx50l
More details on the LARK M2 can be found in my blog post: joesdaily.com/tech/hollyland-...

Glad you got this new microphone! Looks pretty sweet...
Just want to let you know I bought it.
Love this piece of hardware.
Thanks for your video !
Great video thankyou:) I’m trying to find a versatile mic for my channel so it’s tricky between this and the one you’re using on your top
Amazing, wow. I'm getting this!
Great Video. I had a question about the mic being omnidirectional, any chance you can advise on the minimum range/distance between the speaker and the mic that maintains decent audio e.g can one mic be used to record an interview/conversation between 2 people sitting away from each other or doesn't it need to be very close to the speaker? Many thanks.
This is really a model to look at. Thanks for the great review.
Appreciate you watching!
Two things that I don’t like about this mic set are the dead cat that doubles the size of the transmitters and not having internal recording. Otherwise it sounds great and the size is fantastic.
I definitely agree with you on this, however for the price point it's very good for creators trying to up their quality.
@@joesdaily agreed. I actually would like a set
If they added 32 bit float internal recording, no need for lavalier the concept alone would beat DJI and Rode. Just the size alone is a fantastic move
@@LiveProductionTips agreed. It does have that dead cat issue though.
Dope mic. Nice review. I'm buying this asap. On another note PLEASE tell me where you get that sweater from? I NEED it! It's so dope!
@@tonyfowler3846 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great video
Thanks Jeff
I have a GoPro Hero 12. If I plug the USB-c receiver into the GoPro , how much faster will it drain the battery? If it draws a lot of power off the GoPro, that could be a problem.
I'm considering buying this mic but I wonder if it works with the original iphone camera app, or do I need to use third party camera apps like blackmagic? Hope you see this! Thanks in advance😊
Hey! Yes, it works with the iPhone camera app. That's actually what I use it with most of the time. I've also used it with IG stories camera, TikTok camera, etc.
hey, i tried the mobile USBc RX on my Android phone, but it doens't pair unless I charge my phone at the same time... it should just plug and play without needing to charge right? not sure if it's due to my phone is not compatible ..
i just want to ask if this lark m2 compatible on PC?
Can you simultaneously record 2 devices with 1 mic? Or the other way around, 2 mic in 1 or 2 devices paired ?
If I understand you're question, you can record to one device using 2 mics. So imagine having an interview with two people mic'd up to a camera or smartphone. Hope that makes sense.
@@joesdaily great that’s good to know . How about does 1 mic can connect to 2 devices. Like you have iPhone turn on connected and a camera turned on connected but using 1 mic for both of them?
Of I have to use 2 separate mic for them. If I purchase the combo pack
Does it has mono / stereo mode
Hi i'm having trouble connecting the camera to the microphone. It's not transmitting. Do you know what i'm doing wrong?
weird, works for me
What if it sounds bad after 2 3 months of use?🤔
The 40 hour battery life quoted includes recharges from the battery case. (It's 10 hours on the transmitter alone). Still pretty good.
The small size is great. I don't think input for an external lav mic is as necessary when the mic itself is just as small.
It is a shame it cant record on the transmitter and that the 2 mics are merged to mono when using the Mobile receivers. This makes it less useful for drama/sketches etc.
Not so great comparing a mic held on the hand (and popping like mad) to one in the lav position. And man, those leaves are really loud outside! But it's good that you didn't put music under the review!
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I noticed after the fact about the battery not being what I said. That was my mistake. As for holding the mic in hand, I did that because a lot of content creators will hold the mic while they record videos. Obviously not the best solution, but a common use of these wireless mics. I do hear you and appreciate your feedback. I'll get better with my reviews in the future.
@@joesdailyMakes sense (although you can get good sound when holding a lav, you just need to hold it below your mouth so you speak over the top, to avoid plosives, but still point the mic directly at your mouth from about 2 inches away. Give it a try, then maybe you can teach the content creators how to do it :))
I paid 200 bucks for wireless go version 1 back then. It’s probably worth 60 bucks now. I will probably sell it and get this.
I have the Wireless Go too. It's great, but loving how small these things are getting.
👍
Unfortunately this doesn’t work with my voice. It’s acceptable if noise reduction off. If on, it makes my speech strange. End up bought Lark Max.
You mentioned something that nobody talked about and I totally agree with you. I got the Lark Max and thinking about replacing it with the new M2 but from all the review videos I saw these two weeks, the sound quality degradation from turning the noise reduction on is just too bad on the M2. On the other hand, you don't really notice the difference when you turn the noise reduction on the Lark Max.
Another con is M2 mics can't do the internal recording. It's not just a backup but sometimes a must if you don't have a good pre-amp on your recording device (most DSLRs don't have a good one). The quality of the internal recording audio on Lark Max is always better. Sadly the M2 can't have it.
All other features of M2 are just remarkable and I believe it will be a huge success in the coming year.
For proper testing you really should have used the different mount positions cause holding it out in front speaking is simply always giving you the best sound possible. No worries I didn't hit any like or dislike. BUT this isn't a proper realistic test under your chin on your shirt I bet would have sounded hollow and not so good. Pinned down near the Lark should have had okay sound but not as bold as your hand holding. I can make a half the price dual mic system sound as good hand holding like you did. However this is more of a "first test" so I'll give you that :p. Nice camera footage quality
I appreciate you taking the time and leaving this thorough comment. I’ll do better next time. I’ve been a bit out of my element when it comes to video so I appreciate your thoughtful response.
@@joesdaily you did give yourself a chance to test the sound of the mic at different spots and how to get best sounds and where not to mount it ;p. "Get the Best Sound with the Hollyland Lark M2" sounds like a catchy video title for you ;)
your excused :)
