  • If you’ve ever wanted to build an absolutely amazing river diorama complete with fish and other wildlife then this is the video for you!
This diorama was built to be HO scale and includes a number of 3D printed details like the fish, a photographer as well as a grizzly bear. Even though the techniques show are used to build a model train diorama in HO scale they can easily be adapted to basically any other scale! Whether you build in N scale, O scale or even the military model scales and war gamers all these techniques can be applied to you model building projects.
Adding deep pour resin to simulate amazing looking rivers is a skill I think all model railroaders should learn, it can truly transform your model scenery into something that looks stunning and will be sure to attract the attention of all onlookers.
Don’t forget to check out the pine trees video if you haven’t already seen it so you too can build a diorama just like this one with tiny fish and a bear looking for his next meal.

If you want to go the extra mile of details: just add a bit of the white snow mass around the feet of the bear and behind the rocks (downstream) where air bubbles would be sucked down into the water.
Overall, just amazing! Your work is stonishing me again and again.

@@MTWODZU - As far as I can tell the filming production of "Northern Exposure" was never brought to the Valley. The fictional town of Cicely was inspired by Telkeetna, Alaska, which is the base for expeditions to Denali.
I was incorrect about the filming location. The opening scene was filmed in Roslyn but the show was filmed in Redmond, Washington. While parts of Washington State has the same look/feel as Juneau and Ketchikan, it does not look like the Valley.
I spent 20 year in Alaska (Soldotna and Anchorage). "Northern Exposure" did right by Alaska, mostly, except it still looks too warm.

Hey Luke. I love watching your videos, they're extremely relaxing and I'm picking up tips for when I eventually have the space to do a model railroad.
Having lived in Alaska I thought it was awesome that you did an Alaskan River diorama. I think a Muskeg diorama would also be awesome and perhaps a good challenge for you, as it's a bit different from your normal type of diorama in terms of ground cover. If you'd like, I have some pictures I took from a hiking trip through a Muskeg in Juneau, Alaska during the spring I can send to you to use as source material/inspiration. Just let me know, and keep up the great work!

    Hi Luke
Below in the comments section someone's suggested to try a setting completely underwater .
I've had a similar idea but it goes with some of my childhood starting with .....
USOS SeaView from " Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea " being a wrecked hull .
And now something from the future .... " The SeaQuest DSRV " above and back as the location of the SeaView 's location is discovered .
    Yea?????
Big plans for a little space .
