- You don't need to spend tons of money on expensive Kreg right angle clamps! This pocket hole hack is a great way to make sure that you get perfectly flush pocket hole joints every. Single. Time!
This Kreg Pocket Hole Jig Hack is super easy. Line up the joint, making sure the two boards are flush. Then, use an air nailer to shoot one or two pin nails into the end of the joint, holding the two boards in place. At this point, the joint is NOT very strong, but that's what pocket holes are for! Now, just use your driver to install a few pocket hole screws - no clamps needed! The pocket hole joint will stay perfectly aligned. No slipping or sliding.
For a final, professional touch, use a small amount of wood filler to hit the pin or brad nail holes on the face of the board.

Great tip or should I just go buy more clamps? Hit me up in the comments below!
Always buy more clamps. That’s pretty much the answer for everything.
@@GraffWoodshop 🗜️🗜️🗜️💸💸💸
No need to buy a $18 clamp - just buy a $100 nail gun. Win!
I would argue that the nail gun is far more useful than a specialty clamp. 🤷
@@MakewithJake I wouldn’t argue. I would just say buy both, Wen makes one for $18. That’s a Win (see what I did there? It was a pun on words)
@@SethCorbinMusic lol nice. Harbor freight pneumatic tools are surprisingly good enough too.
Lol😂
@@MakewithJakeand way more expensive with the need to have a air compressor and hose and nails and the gun.
"How to do pocket screws without clamps"
Proceeds to clamp.
"How to hold two pieces of wood together in order to join them using pocket holes and pocket hole screws without expensive specially designed pocket hole clamps " was too long of a title.
He did say SPECIALTY clamps..
He “said” special, but the title says “no”. Just another example of being caught by a misleading title.
Now I have to buy an air nail gun...
haha, for sure! I really want one of those fancy battery powered ones.
That’s great and it works. But isn’t the purpose of pocket holes; not have nail holes? Because you could just glue and nail and it would be just as strong.
Yes, but not all the time.
Great advice. I use the same technique and it works like a charm, just like you say!
Excellent! Great minds think alike!
Are you serious? "Perfect Pocket Holes NO CLAMPS!", all you need is a CLAMP and a nail gun.
Yep, totally serious! This is a technique I use all them time to make sure the edges of my projects are perfectly flush.
@@MakewithJake Alright, good to know you use a clamp in your no clamp method :)
@les Ganton Glad I could help! For some reason, the space in between "NO" and "CLAMP" isnt showing the word "SPECIAL" ... I cant figure it out. Oh well, anyways, yes, you *probably* will need a common quick clamp to hold one of the pieces while you nail it.
Happy Building!
@@MakewithJake I'm just messing with you haha. I enjoy your videos.
@les ganton glad haha, I figured lol. Thanks for watching!
This is awesome
Right? I thought it was handy, especially for drawer boxes or things where the pin holes dont matter too much
Finally!! I was working on connecting all day to no avail..this worked!!!!
I love this tip, never thought of it! Thanks
Nice tip! You make pocket holes delicious!👊
hot pocket holes! Mmm-mmm. Part of a nutritious diet!
All i do is put a scrap wood in the back and it’s plush every time
Ever watch a video and then think “How did I not think of this a long time ago?” I just did that.
Yes! Exactly what I was going for.
Sweet tip! Love the hot pocket holes!
I said it that was on Every. Single. Take. Idk, guess my mind was stuck on hot pockets or something.
It’s easy but so smart. Thanks 🙏
But you still used clamps! Also, doesn't that defeat the purpose for using pocket holes if you're using a nail gun?
Great tip
Thank you
Good idea, was that an 18g brad nail?
Never thought of that. I always use clamps.
I bought a pneumatic staple gun and a brad nailer for $10 together. Wish me luck, imma bout to try them tomorrow.
At least you didn't waste money on corner clamps-- they all seem to suck
exactly!
Hooooot pocket
Nice 👍😀
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
What size of gauge do you use?
This was 18 ga. but a 23ga pin nailer would be even better
Thank you so much.
Nah I'll use screws and a nail gun
I’m giving a dislike only because your title is misleading.
Thanks for the comment!
Yeah right, DIY'ers have air nail guns in their basement. A simple jig would suffice to keep the ends square.
Lots of ways to skin the proverbial hamster, this is just one. thanks for watching!
Come on man 😂
So don’t buy a few dollar item to make perfect pockets. Buy a nail gun and compressor and nail gun nails……. And go broke!
Or just use super glue 😉 your welcome 😁
or a nail gun!
@@MakewithJake In my view not everyone has the privilege of owning a nail gun, That's why I said super glue or even hot glue gun. I liked your idea im just thinking outside the box.
I’ll show u how not to use a 50$ clamp by using a 200$ nail gun and also a different type clamp 🙃
Awesome, right?
What a waste of time.
Your welcome. :-)
