You do understand had preachers not preached politics from behind the pulpit there would be no America? Have you ever heard of the black robe regiment? The greatness of our country was built upon "in God we trust." It has often been said "the church sets the standard for the direction of the Nation." If people would vote according to what the Bible says instead of their pocket our country would be so much better off. God, Church, and the Bible are the reasons we live in the freeest and greateast society ever produced. To not understand this is to not understand history.

@@brentwinter6416 Do you not understand "The Salem Witch Trials?" And when religion became the law of the land in the "Old World," after the Fall of the Roman Empire?
Burn you at stake, hang you, guillotine, dunking boards, scarlet letters, etc. for even saying anything considered heretical. There's a reason for the Wall of Separation, as Thomas Jefferson (the man who wrote the second amnendment) defined and interpreted it to the Dansbury Baptists. Some of the Founders were alive when the Salem Witch Trials occurred...before there was a broader Law of the Land. There are God's Laws and there are Man's Laws, and there are plenty of Churches that represent the importance of our Spirituality and God, and as for the Law's of the Land...Jesus does not set the speed limits on our highways here on earth...we do. Religion and Politics should always remain Separate...too dangerous otherwise. Freedom of Religion always, but must never be enforced by man's law...unless you'd like living in a horrific "Theocracy" like Saudi Arabia and others (leaving all of us open to the wiles of corrupt, or illinformed leaders interpretations) Our God gave us the power of choice. Already some of these so called religious leaders are taking advantage by declaring some organizations as non profits and as Churches to gain tax exempt status, when they are nothing of the sort.

If I sin against my parents am I not disciplined? How about if I commit a crime; would I not go to prison? Why would you consider it naive to think that to break the law of our eternal creator namely to fail to act in love toward Him and all he has created would not result in an eternal punishment befitting the crime? I have found myself hopeless and desperately depraved before a holy, righteous, and just God. The only hope of life now and for eternity is found in his provision of the Savior, namely, Jesus Christ. Apart from the Sinless Life, Sacrifice, and Resurrection of the messiah there is no hope for this world. Who else has ever 1)Claimed to BE GOD 2) Lived Sinlessly 2) Performed Countless Miracles 3) Predicted the future flawlessly and his own death and resurrection 4) Lives today 5) Promises you forgiveness and eternal life if you simply believe. Lisa, everyone will figure out who was right and who wasn't in the end, that's not what this is about. You already know the truth, this is about accepting and trusting the truth you know and are rebelling against. Everyone figures it out in the end, but nobody knows when the end will come and the sad thing is that by the end it is too late. Today is the day of Salvation. did you catch that....TODAY! And they borrowed the concept for democracy itself from the ancient Greeks in Athens 500 years before Jesus was born. Clearly this country wasn't founded as a Christian-only nation. We are a country that is supposed to have a separation between church and state. If a church or religion uses politics or expresses a political choice that its followers must follow, it should lose its status as a non-profit and be made to pay taxes as any business would. Also, the leader of a religion or church represents the institution 24 hrs. a day and in doing so may not use his or her personal political view to sway political opinions of followers. The words "I believe" or "I am a Christian" do not make one ethical, moral or honorable. It should be the responsibility of the church or religion to be able to prove its non-partisan stance.

These people have turned the world and logic upside down. They define persecution as being blocked from persecuting others. I'm 76 so there are lots of things I don't remember - especially recent things - but I don't remember watching this video before. Judging from the name of the video, I was expecting many comments about how great it is for "Christians" to "let their moral values inform their politics" or "getting America back to God".
There ARE some preachers who have many followers precisely because they preach a political gospel but many other preachers have tried to imitate them in the hope of having many followers themselves. It doesn't often work out that way. I think it is because there are still enough people who have read enough of the Bible to recognize the truth of Jesus' statement "My kingdom is not of this world".
My parents supported the clergy with 10% of their increase and I still think I should do that but it is getting harder and harder to find preachers who don't preach a political gospel. I blame the decline of religious organizations in the United States more on that factor than any other - maybe more than all other factors combined. And I should add that I consider that to be true in either case - preachers preaching a conservative political gospel and other preachers preaching a "progressive" political gospel.

Fanatics of any kind cling to any icon; even bad ones. Religious fanatics deeply ‘’need” someone to tell them what to believe and what’s right or wrong. That is why they gravitate to religion and particularly to the most fervent and dangerous ones. They not only need to show that they are true and loyal believers, they have to make you believe as well. And what better lighting rod to unify them than a living, charismatic political figure that says they are right and everyone else is wrong.

All religions that are involved in politicking should be taxed. If they are doing politics then they aren't churches. They are using politics to force their views on others. A lobbying organization and lobbying organizations are taxed. In addition, if they spend time and money to do this lobbying then those contributions to the church should be taxable funds. It is time to end this insidious abuse of tax exemption.

Religion is defined as a philosophy of beliefs and worship. If you believe anything and everybody believes something then it will naturally govern all other areas of your life. It might be your religion to be anti-religion in which case you are allowing your religion to effect your politics by writing your silly post which is a political act. Maybe it is your post that has no place in politics as silencing all opposition is the first step to a totalitarian government and maybe you think that is best.

Individual believers have their own ideas, interpretations, etc. No one can be an exact replica of another believer. There can be no separation of politics from faith. Politics is life.

I drove a Senior bus in the 80's to go to Ada, OK for the flowers blooming. Any way when I was listening to the radio coming from Oral Roberts University they often talked how they were grooming their students to go into government. To pack the congress and be able to bring the government to their way of thinking. This was a great pride and purpose for the university. All I could think of how wrong this was. I don't mind religious people but not when that is their whole agenda.
