I am a born again (evangelical) Christian who was, at least partially, indoctrinated with Zionist doctrine when I was young. After many years of studying the Old Testament and New Testament for myself, while praying for discernment, I have learned that Zionism is based on a few words of scripture taken completely out of context, and for one to find the Truth, one must take God's Word as a whole. The modern state of Israel is not biblical Israel, and Zionism is as harmful to Jews as it is to Christians and Muslims. I want Palestinians to know that not all western evangelical Christians subscribe to the Zionist propaganda, and many of us are trying to break the spell it has on others, while praying for the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish people in the Holy Land.

As an Irish Catholic ,I have always been very wary of the whole mindset of Evangelicals.The Israelis and the Jewish diaspora in general see Christianity as their enemy for the last two thousand years.They publicly acknowledge Evangelical support,both moral and financial ,but privately have nothing but contempt for Christian belief.This truth is self evident to any person who keeps a close eye on the present world situation.

I'm a non-practicing Catholic. I have problems with the Catholic church and Christianity in general. One thing I will say in favor of the Catholic church over Evangelicals is that we did not spend endless amounts of time honoring or studying the Old Testament. Christian Zionism was born out of that practice. I find the God of the Old Testament to be angry, tribal, impulsive, selfish, and downright foolish! He seems to suffer from all of the imperfections of man. Therefore, I believe that God is a creation by man, for man, in man's own image rather than the reverse as taught in the Old Testament. Yes there are serious problems in the church. They were hoodwinked by propaganda starting back in 1909 with the introduction of the C. I. Scofield reference Bible. The US evangelicals are in their majority just a shame of Christianity in my view. Picking out of the Bibel sentences, disregarding any serious critical exegesis or hermeneutical principles or any science. Witnesses of discontinuity.

I consider myself to be Southern Baptist, having grown up in the Black church. It is conflicting seeing and hearing Christian pastors that I have listened to proclaim an allegiance to Israel, while at the same time making the genocide of Palestinians based on a war between Christians and Jews versus Muslims. I am thankful to have made Palestinian and Muslim friends in college, who shared their culture with me. I feel I'm able to be a better Christian because of my Muslim friends.

Many of us fell for it. I'm in the UK, where evangelical Christianity is less intense and full-on than in America. Less bound up in politics. But nonetheless I was definitely taught I should be broadly pro-Israel, and Palestinians were barely mentioned at all. I think many of us are waking up now. I actually think that for me Israel and Jewish people became a bit of an idol. I was so petrified that God would punish me if I questioned things that I got very confused. Of course I still love Jewish people, but also Palestinians and everyone. I can see with my own eyes that the behaviour of the Israeli government doesn't remotely line up with the teachings of Christ. I cannot, as a follower of The Prince of Peace support the actions of Zionism.
