I'm getting this one in the mail soon. I am so stoked on getting this. This is a BAD ASS G-Shock. I do a lot of outdoors stuff as well as mountain bike riding. You did a great job on this video. Keep them coming. Thanks BRO. BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've had this watch for almost 2 years, it's a solid watch. The only drawback is the negative display is hard to read at times, but its not really a big deal to me, all you have to do is twist your wrist a little more, or less to make it more readable. lol
I've gotten many compliments on the look of the watch by males AND females. After nearly 2 years of use, nothing is damaged, broken, or cracked. The watch still functions as new, the quality is excellent.
stran ger What do you use it for? I’m in the army. Will it hold up?
@@henrikpoulsen543 definitely. That what they are built for basically
I guess if it's harder to read it gives you more of an excuse to glamour at the beauty around your wrist XD
Mike you are a Super Star.., Enjoyed the detailed review of this GREEN RANGEMAN
I did get mine. I like everything about this G-Shock. I like the LCD. It makes the watch look stealth. This is a very cool G-Shock. It fit's great on the wrist. I made this my everyday watch. I can't wait to start mountain bike riding and rock climbing. BAD ASS G-Shock!!!!!
So stealthy you can't read it
Great video as usual - nice clear visuals and explanations to 'demo' a G shock by. Certainly positive displays are inherently easier to read given how LCDs work. I do find though that all of Casio's new X-Large models have very good negative displays - the larger digits provide more space to allow light in. I have a G8900 and have minimal problems reading it at all even in lower light conditions compared to positives.
I already have the black Japan version of this one with the positive display but I don't really wear it out when I do outdoor activities. I was thinking of picking this green one up as it's on sale on a local shop for 220 and it's regular 349 in Canada. I love negative displays and it would be my everyday watch when fishing, biking & other activities I'm doing.
When I go out doors I put tape over the keeper so it doesn't get scratched or nicked. So far it stays on pretty well.
Great video. Thanks a lot for telling so much about my favourite watch.
I agree with you about this watch, I have the same color, but I was frustrated with the back light, it's very hard to read and the metal piece on the back gets easily scratched. So I stopped wearing it.
Just got the 9400-1 and was thinking about exchanging it for this one. Is the positive or negative display easier to read with bad eyes?
Hello there friend! I dont know if Im seeing it correctly! May I ask is the numerals a little brownish in color??
Hello I just subscribed. I was hopeing you can answer a question.
1: Where did you get your watch, i see it has the bigger box, mine never had that. Do you know of any legit or good places to buy them from, and how much did you buy your for. Any cheaper then 300$?
Thank you, looking forward to some more vids!! Great Job
nice video mike
What's up with the CE in the back plate I noticed you and I don't have it
Wow this colour really looks good
Awesome video Mike like always very informative. I have been looking at this particular G-Shock for quite some time. I am an avid collector of CASIO's Pathfinder and Protrek line of ABC watches. This of course being Casio's first triple sensor G-Shock is really cool. I have been leaning more to the model you just reviewed but the only question I have is how clear is that negative display? I have the GX56-1ADR and if I wear the watch on a cloudy day, I always have to use the illumination feature on the watch to see the readout on its display.
I don't want to pay $300+ dollars on a watch which I can see the numbers. So if you can help me with that information I would highly appreciated. If the display is hard to read then I will purchase the positive display version of it. After all it will have the same module in it.
I want to thank you in advance for your time and patience regarding this matter.
Very Sincerely,
Backblast72
I have this RANGEMAN and i can read the graph pressure in the light.I like this model, but i would like to have a green jelly mode, but its very expensive.
what to do?!? i just unboxed my brand new gw9400 and its greaaat. but ther is problem with sensor. brand new watch ;( altimeter show me -10m and im on +90m ... and preasure show 1015hPa and its actualy 1026hPa based on relayable measurment. is it normal or i hawe no luck?!
Mike, great review, (excellent video quality BTW) I have the same model but your negative display is waaay more legible than mine, I can barely see the numbers and I am very frustrated about it, I wish Casio add more contrast to them! Thanks for sharing.
He had a desk light shining directly on it. If you shine a flashlight at it. It will look just like that
I have this watch. I like to think of it as my Stealth watch. No one else can easily see what is on the dial. I get more compliments on this watch than any other G I own. I think I have 12 at last count. Great watch!
Kevin Myers Makes
a great daily watch for sure.
@@Itsmaikitosworld yes sir. Thanks for the great video, I like your style sir!
My one gripe with this watch is the gap between the case back and the bottom edge of the sensor function pusher.
hey mike do you have the gw 9400bj?
I think the 9400 -B has the better negative display and the light really works well. If i am really concerned about watch band colors i have several i can change over. The rangeman 9400 is mud resistance. If you hate the neg display just buy the regular positive display and buy the olive green band.
Nice video. Mine comes tomorrow.
What kind of green is it olive drab or foliage?
Same watch Chris Hemsworth wore in Extraction
I have one, and I love it. However, I have a problem to replace a battery CTL1616, which is expensive. I now realize nonrechargeable G-shock is better in a long term. CR1616 is easy to find and much cheaper.
A nice point about the screen 🍻🍻
In certain angles you can read the display, but its terrible to read indoor.......In the light is beautiful to see the orange digits...
I'm buying the black one tomorrow, they're 25% off retail price at macy's ;)
Nice review !!
Thanks Kross.
I just bought this watch, and to be honest I think I should have gone positive display. The watch is really hard to read, I have to use the light all the time to see the small details. For those that asked, it's slightly darker in the flesh than in this video, it's closer to the colour shown at the end on the wrist, but just another shade or two darker again.
Is this the same watch that is on Amazon for $189, it looks really cool.
I love the negative display wish they put it on the black version to give it that blackout look!
+Steviedee 73 look for the gw9400 bj-1jf
Wish G-Shock made a black on black version of this (black band with negative display) without it being the expensive carbon fiber model. The OD green is nice but I'm sure this same model only in all black would sell.
Whats the difference between GW9400-3ER and GW...3CR ?
the rangeman help me a few times in my jungle missions .. a good and reliable watch
oh really? i have one but i don't how to use it.. damn
+Karizma 329 there is a video on CZcams called rangeman users guide where this guy goes through every function on how to set it up and using it after
da ba yes there is ... that's how I learn to use it also 😊
Hello, i just want to say something about the metal keeper and the Mudman. This is one of the reason why i changed my strap on the GW-A1000 with the Combi-bracelet strap on the same model(black, not the dark blue one). I was doing the same u`r talking about "sliding all day"...it`s kind of annoying! It`s a very expensive watch, and this is a failure for the watch! I`m thinking that even the GW-A1100 model don`t have the same stopper...The other reason that i change the strap, is the scratches all over the metal, made from, touching the bottom of a pool...i was pissed off, the watch was new (about a month)...
About the G-9300, the Mudman, yes it`s hard to press the buttons, but is one of the best and comfortable watch`s that i used to have, more comfortable even from the GW-A1000 with the combi bracelet, and the color is very nice and not tamped for the eye like the GW-9400 (my opinion).
Thank you and good luck! :)
plz diffrnce between GA 110 mb and GA 9400?
how to use sensor
Is there anyway to stop the watch from beeping every time you click a button? If im out hunting or in a situation where i cant make a lot of noise that beep could screw me.
Yes, u can turn that sounds off. See the manual
Could you do a review of the rangeman with a zulu/NATO band, mixing the black and olive colored bands and watches respectively please? I'd like to get the watch, but I don't want to make a 300$ regret.
Kenton jaysandkays made a video about that and I found it helpful and I feel the same way about that kind of stuff
i watch this to see if that little spot by where is says"rc indicator" is supposed to be there. lol I thought it was small gash.
Pros: very rich functionality, like, probably, nowhere else. Cons: 1) bulky, 2) no 1 sec increments or autorepeat for countdown timer.
Love it my self, nice watch.
Accuracy test? Please. T)
Good Day!anyone can help me how to get original straps for this!thanks!im from the Philippines by the way.
Have you check ebay? or pacparts.com?
Does it illuminate like all the other Casio watches? Do they sell this model in ladies version? I want this! I COLLECT Casio G shock watches.
They do not sale a ladies version of this exact model but they sale the same colorway in ladies sizes.
mike835: ; i saw your youtube; and i see it u know a lot of info about g shock 9400 ! i by 1 of this watch g 9400. i want ask u there is line up there for the temperature and i blive that when you wearing the watch then u can see the compilat the line! but my question is; my watch the line its half is it normal or not?its all g shock or like this ? and i have photo of my watch and i send it to your fb! ii would be happy if you can help me with the watch cause i love this watch:p thank u mike
Nah... positive display would have taken away the aesthetics of the beautiful olive green with negative display :-)... looks good as it is... only thing is the metal keepers though, would have liked a scratch free option... very nice review!
Livin Stunn yes you alive
The metal keeper is so easy to polish. It's a G Shock! It's tough. Stop worrying about a scratch! All watches will get marks. Most can be removed with little effort.
Mike835 was saying something about the metal keeper. Most people aren't going to like what I'm going to say. I own the same watch and this is one of the best G-Shock's out there. Like any watch with wear an tear the keepers are going to get scuffed do to outdoor activities. This watch is built to handle everyday wear. The keepers will get beat up. The only thing that I can say is only wear the watch as a dress watch only. I do agree with Mike835. This is a BAD ASS G-Shock. Great job on the video.
Yeah, these have fancy metal keepers, they scratch easy, if you wear the watch like an outdoor watch, its inevitable.
Mike835 This watch is inevitable. I plan on getting the black one too. I'm so stoked.
Скрипит пластиковый корпус ) Обратите на это внимание . И через 3 года как вы замените и на что пластиковый ремешок кототорый износится ?
You don't buy a G Shock to be careful with it. If you're a watch collector, just let it sit in your collection.
Left mine in by a window overnight and it's 3 hours off :/
Extraction movie hero watch 😉
Shhhh
His picture looks like a younger Hank Hill.
Thought it had a thermometer?
It does!
Does it have a light?
yes
What's your wrist size mate??
over 7.
2:06 I think the right one is 2 towers in Japan and 1 tower in China
Nice vid again. The 6 atomic time radio towers are two in Japan, one in China, one in Germany, one in England and one in the US.
Kind regards from Amsterdam
Interesting I always thought there were 2 in China and 1 in Japan? Go figure!
@@brianbuchert6382 Thanks, here they are on a world map including the names of the city or village where they’re at:

@@brianbuchert6382 You’re freaking welcome! (To put it simple: only the Northern Hemisphere is covered.)
I have it in green just like that everytime I wear it people stare especialy chicks so I just wear it when I go to Miami or Hawaii only
Negative display in all the Casio watches look like this..
Want.
you know you love to say "you know" a lot..
You should not have a GShock if you are worried about scratching it
Extraction watch
Shushhh
Mike...
You mention the metal keeper getting scratched; having to be extra careful so it doesn't get scratched. This watch was made for the outdoor extremest and/or person who isn't going to worry about a small blemish on the keeper. Its functions and securities like being water and shock resistance tell you that wearing the watch in outdoor, harsh environments should be safe. I see it all of the time....May I ask you something...why do you and so many others like you worry so much about LOOKS? I see how looks can play a role in personal style or preference, but beyond that, who gives a shit. This watch wasn't made for looks. Its was made for functionality! If you get a scratch on it, please don't freak out, I'm sure if you call casio, they will assure you that it won't affect the watch.
Your right, these watches are made to take a beating and keep on ticking, I mean, allot of us just do not buy them for function, style is a big part of G-shocks as well, the watches combine both things, G-shock 4 life! search for @miike835 on facebook as well.
If you start off with function first you'll find a lot of good looking bargains. If you go with the flow and target the most sought after collector's items first, you end up paying a premium just for the looks, which I did for the GW-5500-1ajf. It is jdm only, has the same module as the GW-M5600 but costs more than double the price compared by the cheapest available option.
While extremely capable and functional these watches are absolutely designed with looks in mind. There are so many design elements of the g-shock that are purely aesthetic such as the beautifully complex, angular shape of the case, its polished bezels and the two-hole strap. Has a single-hole strap on a g-shock ever failed because it lacked the extra hole? probably not once, ever. With consumer products it will always be "form over function" if it means a more attractive product and higher sales. Casio is clearly appealing to the buyer who cares about the appearance of the watch.
George Beaulieu . my thoughts exactly. MIKE IT'S A G SHOCK . NOT A ROLEX
This watch can be safely taken on a Mars expedition, strapped to the outside of the ship. That being said, if mike wants to display it in a nitrogen filled, backlit glass case, and take it out once every year to wipe it with a moist lens cloth.. this a an entirely valid application of this watch. Its a fully functional and rugged instrument that is also collected for its personal feels.. totally valid man, no different than the starbucks croud who buy a top of the line macbook, and promptly install Windows on it. Its their moolah, and their style expression right?
Not to be mean or anything.. You can have a drinking game for every time you say "you know". haha
black or this?
Green or black ?
Am I the only one who heard the aircraft at 06:00
Benney boo
no moon data??? are u joking me g-shock
I wanted to buy this model until I find out there is no moon data on them,
wheather and sea depends very much on the moon, that g-shock designer should know better than me.
Get a gw 9300 instead. That one doesn't have defects...
lack of functions than rangeman
what kind of defects u talking about?
Please stop saying “ugh/um” so much in your videos. Makes them very hard to watch.
Sadly these model have defects. Parts breaking
you've got the China one I bet
+benzene phospate the lug easily breaks on Rangeman. Many cases happened around the world, go check watchuseek forum.
tokekkk Lug mean
tokekkk what the heck "lug" mean for you
am i the only person have sense that this gw 9400-3 (green colour) is harder to see the number of clock than the 9400-1(black) one?
And uhhh and uhhhh and uhhh
You mumble and say "uhhhh" a lot.
Work on your speaking skills.
His writing skills aren't perfect too. But we're all just humans. Besides I don't think english is his mother language. If it is... than shame on him.
Uhh i wish uuhhh you didn't uhhh say uhhhh all the uhhhh time
ANYONE MILITARY or SPECIAL FORCES: for combat or tactical or evasion, wouldn't you want a watch that the face (time hands, tick marks, digits etc) DO NOT glow in the dark AND wouldn't indiglo be safer than a backlight to avoid being seen by the enemy? please no armchair warriors or civilian opinions thank you
The back light is not that bright so need to worry. I am sure the red lens flashlights they use are brighter than a watches back light. Anyways you just need to cover part of the watch with your hands if your using the indiglo.
Careful? It's a G-shock. Who cares about scratches. ...
ibizajunkie some of us like to take care of our things so they can look good for a long time, nothing wrong with this.
lots of ummm and ahhhh ,,,, drags out the video so much,,, "you know" and ummmmmm
I will try to improve.
Can't even remember when my rangeman was that clean. Love the rangeman.
What kind of green is it olive drab or foliage?
I would like to know this as well.
This is a great watch. I have this watch and I'm extremely happy with it. The cons aren't as bad. I can read my display in any lighting condition. If you are in a dark place than use your backlight. I've see the black version with positive display and is not as interesting as this watch is.
Nice review Mike. I just ordered this one today and I'm excited about it coming in.
i own two of these guys and your review is right on the money!! nice job mike and thanks buddy
Hey Mike. I own the black one and this one in my collection. My soon to e wife wants one for her. I got her hook on G-Shocks. She wears my G-Shock 9300-1 and she wears our daughters G-Shock. Great video's and keep them 👍 coming. My collection is getting big and hers too.
I have this model and yes it's hard to read. Thinking of getting the positive display also.
Nice looking Casio and even enjoying your reviews of Casio watches
Thanks for this review. I was really digging that green look of this watch and found an amazing price on it as well, but my main concern was that negative display and how readable it would be.
Video quality is awesome! What do you use to film? Thanks!
Its a beautiful clock, I think is one of the cheapest g shock that comes with triple sensor and multiband 6. It was a nice review, thanks.
Loved the review, I just ordered it in this colour. Thanks man.
Thank you, and enjoy.
Amazing wrist-shot!!! It seems to fit your wrist simply perfectly! ;)
Where did you get the watch holder? I need a few of those for my g-shocks.
What camera are you using to film? VERY clear!
Hi Mike! Is the wrist band on this product durable as well? thanks
