    I am a builder and have used this watch every day for the last 4 months. I have properly abused this watch! Constantly smacking it off things. Its been covered in plaster, cement, bonding adhesive and bodger foam. getting saw dust and sand in all the little cracks. I give it a scrub in the shower in the evening and all the dirt and bits of concrete drop off. When it gets really dirty I give it a scrub with a toothbrush. The rubber doesn't seem to bond with anything. Its amazing! It still looks new! And it actually looks better as the rubber dulls slightly, like a matt blackish. If you buy one, abuse it. Don't treat it nicely!! You don't need to....

    Hi TGV. Thank you for a great review.
    I own G-Shock G-9300 Mudman since 2016. I have intensively worn/used it every day running errands, for travel trips, in the ocean, during firearm trainings and construction times. It is a beast. With 7 years of intensive usage, I only change the band once because the little loose part that holds both bands together once u wear the watch got torn. Otherwise, it is an excellent time peace and I am very happy til this day. The only down part I would mention when we compare the Mudman with the Rangeman the buttons on Mudman are hard and takes a bit pressure using your fingers to press each button. Vs. Rangeman is easier to use. I use most of its features as well.
    Thanks

    Nice unit, I have several beater digital every day watches some even with atomic radio time keeping function . The thing I really look for now is titanium case sapphire and metal band and all digital display ( no hands ) . The closest I have is a Citizen U600 unfortunately it does have a multitude of mechanical hands. The reason I don't want mechanical hands is it makes is much more robust.

If possible could you please do a review on the new GWG1000 Mudmaster as I'm contemplating buying one however I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter before I fork out the hefty pricetag. I personally feel that the Rangeman has sunset sunrise where as the Mudmaster does not, also the light on the Rangeman is better than the light on the Mudmaster. I agree with you that the rangeman is probably the best ABC watch in the market, at least in terms of functionality and toughness.
    In short, if there was a nuclear war or some other global catastrophe or zombie/alien invasion, this would be the watch I carry to increase my scarce chances of survival...
    Anyway, from an aestetic point of view, I would not change my Protrek PRW 6000 with the rangeman.
    II think that the Protrek is the right watch for almost any occasion: office, outdoor, everyday life AND the end of the world.

    I know this is an old video now, but it doesn't have your usual enthusiasm that you bring. Your video's have been a large inspiration for me and one of the key things that got me into horology. Not sure if you were having a "off day" or just not feeling it for this watch, either way it's great to see the energy you have put into more recent videos. People at work find it funny that I go from a G-Shock one day to an Omega the next, very different watches but they both bring me joy. Would be interested to know if you still have a passion for this watch or if it's just collecting dust somewhere? All the best.

    Great progress report. I was just thinking can we expect another progress report let's say 1 year of use :D that would be awesome. I have mine Rangeman for about 3 months and i was wondering did you had any problems with yours during the winter like condensation uder the glass or something like that? I love that watch so much that I have decided get rid of all my other G Shock-s and leav just that one for me this is The ultimate G Shock if not the ultimate watch :D. I ask you about the condensation because i had that problem with one of my other G Shock-s. Тhanks in advance for your answer. Cheers :)

      I think the lack of responses speaks good itself! No issue with the lugs brother... It's an urban myth. According to the Casio Australia repair Center they have never seen broken lugs on a rangeman an in fact stated that this model was one of their most robust units made. Mate you'll never break it.....

  • @NewBlackYork
    @NewBlackYork Před 4 lety +2

    14:02 you don't need to take off the watch to get the right temperature reading. Only have to do is adjust the reading while the watch is on your wrist /15 min at least/ to the thermometer in the room where you are. You can get pretty accurate temperature readings like this while wearing your watch.

    • @CoreyBrass
      @CoreyBrass Před 3 lety

      Not really. Your wrist will stay pretty close to the same temp if you're outside in 50°f or 70°f. I thought I could try that hack but it isn't effective and what makes it worse is when you then want an accurate reading like the morning weather while camping you can't get one. It is best to accurately set it with a thermometer before a trip and then when you need it take it off for 20 to 30 min.

    If this watch had a vibrating alarm, I would buy it right now. Can someone help me with a suggestion of a similar watch? I want a similar design, construction quality, and price range, except with the option for vibrating alarms and needs to at least be a Twin Sensor for thermometer readings.

      @Sickentist Před 7 lety +1

    I couldn't agree with you more. I also like that you can hit the lower right button and activate the stop watch instantly . You don't have to find the stop watch first. Hit the button and boom. Very casual review for you. Either you just dropped an Old Fashion or your favorite female has distracted you but still I enjoyed the slightly more casual video. Thanks.

    Hi someone may have already told you this but you can have the hourly beep on this model you just go into the alarm mode and scroll through the alarms till you come to sig with the double zero and I am not to sure which button it is ( I think it's the bottom right ) but this will activate the hourly chime. I hope this helps.

    I know I'm very late to the party and don't expect a reply; but I was very much on the fence with upgrading my 7900 to this 9400 for several years and I'm nowhere close to making a final decision. But I do totally agree that the previous generation back light was superior and while your video had the best example of the 9400's back light, that's still the feature I dislike the most about it.
