    Given the size of the module and the actual case of the watch, it goes to show the serious shock resistance Casio puts into it. Amazing engineering!

    I'm about to open my rangeman in order to fix some issues so I found your video very useful. And btw about the weak part of the wristband that you've talked in the beginning of your video. Ive broke mine after 5 years. I really like that watch which is IMO in the Top 3 of the best professional watch of all time. However it have a weak point at the wristband. (This is theoretical, and for a " normal use " it shouldn't be a problem. BUT if you have a job like ; firefighter, construction worker, military and law enforcement... just mind you, every G Shock as a limit, and because of the intensity of your routine, you are going to realize that you are actually way tougher than your watch can be ; )

      He'll no downsize just a bit.... lots of people out there looking so stupid with small or even average wrist and a giant G-Shock cough cough... too clunky there's nothing tactical about it..
      The Range man and the mud man are the biggest G-Shock i own along with the 7900. I love them but I always wish they were a bit smaller...
      Chicks definitely don't dig big clunky watches either so they serve no purpose to be that oversized ...

      Of all the gals I've seen asked, females do not like large flashy watches on men....
      The ones you hang around maybe different but the models that were asked much prefer dress watches on men... matter of fact is pretty well-known women dislike oversized watches on men...
      I would say the only exception is a man with an arm size to match
      I'll Try to link a couple videos if i remember where I saw them... but it was a group of models in New York and some girls in Miami who were in these videos giving their answers on which watches they preferred men to wear...
      What I noticed the most was women weren't really interested at all in men's watches
      .... when they had to choose they chose the watches that were 40 mm and under...
      Look I didn't write the rules I'm just telling you what I've seen of the women that were polled..
      I wear a Rangeman a lot, but always wish it were a touch smaller...
      Men have started wearing watches so big these days they are clown watches
      a bigger watch will make your small arms stand out yeah i agree..

The readability is not very good, so I would like to either change the polarizer to a clear one or find another background reflector. Just don't know where the colour is build in. Or is it the glass of the LCD itself that is tinted? I do like the negative display. But I know there is the GW-9400BJ-1JF which is very costly, but has just the right display for me (negative AND clear white digits). Thanks for any advice on how to modify it (if at all possible)!

      Usually the colors comes
      from the background reflector which was glued behind the back polarizer. Sometimes, it is polarizer itself. No way to tell unless you try to peel it off a bit from a corner and check the polarizer colors.
      These polarizer is pretty easy to get. But just be careful not to scratch the glass or the connection segments.

      Ouch!. That gotta hurt the wallet.
      Anyway, Casio add a black tape-like thing around the solar panel & glass assembly that holds tight. From my experience, the best way is to use a heat gun to melt the glue just enough that it got loose and the glass will be a bit flexible from the heat allowing it to be pressed out without breaking. Carefully, slowly and little by little at time.
      Pretty much like how people open up smartphones for repair work these days except, very gently.

    2:00 Not so fast, dude! Just because it fits there doesn't mean reliable. Yes, it is the same design many of Gs have.
    But just compare the case of Rangerman and Mudman. Those little plastic parts connected to the case, where the belt is mounted, are longer and thinner for Rangerman. The belt acts like a crowbar pulling the screws that twist the plastic they are attached.
    It is the same bad design that is more accentuated for Rangerman. And so many complains about it weight more than any demonstration of watch guys.

    Dude watch your finger at 13:52 there's a small spring wandering. I personally don't like the negative display version of the rangeman. I tried it out and I could barely see it. I got a DW6900 LU3 with negative display and it looks just fine. Casio must improve that display on the rangeman being on a higher price range is just wrong imo.

      @gshockhighfashion  Před rokem

      I haven't tried it myself, but I'd seen other people done it. It is possible.
      Every G-Shock uses the same polarizer film, so if you can swap it on other G-Shock, you can swap on this Rangeman as well.

    I think most Rangeman owners are going to want to know what the module looks like. In the UK I see the Rangeman at same price as the Protrek 2500 and I don't know which is a better all round purchase .....

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  Před 5 lety +1

      The Protrek has some good features too. They even use the same sensors.
      The difference is that it has a sleeker appearance and different interface. It is weaker in term of protection and water resistant too when compared to G-Shock.

      @@gshockhighfashion Thanks GHF, you've given me an idea to look at these models on the used market. I was thinking what better way to get a triple sensor as a 'beater watch', than one in a used condition. Thanks also for the info on the sensors, I didn't know they used the same one,

    • @pslinares
      @pslinares Před 5 lety +2

      @@freeatlast1963 I'm afraid that information is wrong. I own the Protrek 2500 and it uses the 2nd. version of the sensors. The most visible difference is the altimeter accuracy of 5 meters. The Rangeman uses the version 3, which is smaller, more power efficient and you can see the altimeter with 1 meter accuracy.
