short passing with vision quickness and ball keeping. U got to be smart to always be free to receive the ball like he does. So, NO, not everyone can short pass, dont think u can.
he mite not be the fastest or the most skillful..but i think hes one of the smartest players out there...he seems to be one of the few players there that understand the concept of pass and move...reason we played to well against the likes of city arsenal and chelsea

true, i think we should have carrick in holding position, cleverly infront of him, and kagawa just behind rooney who can be a lone striker, with nani and valencia on the wings

hes a hard vworker . he might not be the talented but he does work his butt off and is also effective in the game if u watch the game against city in the community sheild... hes the reason man utd won
I think he's far better in a deeper role. His passing is very good but he also seems to be developing a good reading of the game and he works hard in defence. I think he still may lack penetration but with a lean mean penetration machine in Kagawa ahead of him they should form a deadly partnership. Just need Ryan Tunnicliffe to break into te first team, he is the final piece of the puzzle.

Agreed and i don't get this "new Scholes" label either.Scholes at the same age was scoring 15 goals a season from CM,his passing range,variety was fantastic.His timing and arriving of runs were also fantastic. Cleverley on the other hand you are lucky if you get 5 goals a season,his passing is very predictable,i was never impressed with his loan spell at Wigan either, was Cleverley highly rated when he was a kid?.Dont get why Fergie rates him although he has been on the bench alot recently.
the only problem is his passes need to be more attacking orientated
he never signed macheda to be one...macheda came from the youth team....so did gibson.....neither one of then were in the position that cleverley is now....smith was one of the main players when utd trashed roma 7-1 in the quaterfinals....and phil neville was always great...he is old now and he is still in the first team of a top 6-8 premier league side

gibson was never a starter...oshea was a starter because he was good enough to play for united so is cleverley now...if fergie didnt think he was good enough he wudnt start him a lot...as a united fan i know how good he is...and i notice how much better united play when hes playing...the midfield is more dynamic..

Just shows you how poor this country is then at producing technically gifted players,its embarrassing.No wonder kids are not playing 11 a side any-more,thank god then changed that rule.You dont need to have fantastic vision for short passes because the player is right next to you,i dont even find him clever in his runs like a Kagawa or Hazard for example he just runs runs runs anywhere and asks for the ball and knocks it back to the closest player to him.

Gibson started plenty of games sure he wasn't first choice but still started games but Fergie realised he wasn't good enough.O Shea was a decent player a squad player because he was versatile,at 28 he sold him too.Just because you play in the Utd first team doesn't necessarily mean you should be or are god enough.Is Buttner? not for me.Ashley Young? Debatable,was Alan Smith? No Macehda? No. Dont get the Cleverley hype a guy who just makes simple easy passes all game.
