Awesome,Brent gets pumped if a car makes 260hp or 800hp ,that's true passion right there, always positive always 😁
work with what you got!..... Its not the size of the ship, its the motion of the ocean baby!.... at least that's what my wife tells me....
@@bmxguy08 you win comment of the year bud 😂😂😂
Yes!!
@John Gilroy well many people won't consider a car fast if it is under 400-500hp, but it ain't achiveable for some of us. Civic's are very rare at my place and expensive. My astra g bertone has 1.8 115hp, would like someone to chip it, but people here say it can not be done for this engine :( but I still love it, and it moves for me quite fast :) had some roll races with other drivers, and it pulls ahead from cars with bigger engines with 140-150hp, although turbo diesels, they have me until 100km/h, but after that, i'm out, makes me happy lel
I absolutely agree with that statement.
I love how all these backyard mechanics build these awesome cars and they bring them in and you and the guys have so much patience correcting errors and working together to make these cars run to their potential. Keep it up guys
Ditto.
I did this swap years ago and the wiring was not hacked when I did the swap and me Brent knows how I am with these cara
I wanted to mention that I meant no harm when I said backyard mechanics. Thats what we all are. Just the gold old boys ha. I'm only a professional at breaking them.
Brent is the patron saint of wayward builds.
@@cadillacchad7711 lol so SOME HOW your wiring got hacked up??? YOU did the swap, and wiring "years ago" and magically your work ended up being wrong? Bro i think the answer is simple. Spend less on those shitty ebay parts (nice ebay fender i see on eveyr single civic ever) and more money/time on quality parts/installation. fuck sake. ur just gonna be one those fucking ricers anyways
That’s impressive for a stock j series
In my opinion best tuner ever
Good work y’all 🤘🏼
You can tell these guys are actual car guys. They get pumped about all the cars they work on, not just the 600+ drag cars. Love it, true passion.
So it isn't an engine swap. You swapped a car to the engine. It's a car swap
As long as they didnt break out the ether they should be sweet ;)
Soooooo funny
Happy Birthday, Brent! Keep smiling and don't stop them good vibes!! 🤙
Brent should burn base map chips for various basic set ups and sell them too.
I love watching the professionalism and cohesiveness between you two. You always have a positive attitude that comes through in your work. I'm always excited when I see an upload. If I was local I would love to get a tune. Cheers to you guys.
Its amazing how quiet the limiter is
thanks for this Brent, wiring rundown in the start was awesome quality content and positive Vibes as always man keep em coming
Brent has the knowledge and knowledge is power and he has experience that’s why he is my favorite tuner hands down James brown
Brett I don't understand how you don't look a day over 35 but you have an absolute lifetime of car knowledge in your head!
Thank you so much. You are the first one I've seen on CZcams to explain how to get the speedometer to work on a j-swap. You truly are the Honda God. Awesome work.
That looks like a fun car. NA V6, sounds sweet!
Gotta give brent and pfi tons of respect... ive always been an american V8 type of guy but running into these PFI videos and brents love and magic when it comes too tuning these smaller displacement motors really shows what they are capable of. I used to say you never would see me in a 4 banger or even a v6 has changed my mind... i wouldnt mind having a turbo k20 swap in a gutted civic... oh yea and phongs NA civic, hits my heart like no other... that thang is a raspy son of a gun!
PFI definitely know their stuff! Awesome to see them grow
Yow I just love how Brent puts time in all the cars he tunes, wish others would be more like this, such a cool dude nuff love from Jamaica
bret you and your crew are some of the most helpful guys in the car community !!! thanks for the video!
Clean EM1 with the J. Quality and informative content as always from PFI!
Happy birthday Brent, hope you had a killer day man!
I met that guy with the J-swap last summer, really sharp car! Great job! I really look forward to the AWD dyno coming to life. Would love to have you tune my Subaru! Looking for a little more power once I get a few things installed!
Brent your really good with wiring, breaking down the speedo pinning was very educational.
Mint 400??!!?!?! Fear and loathing in Las Vegas!!!!
I wonder if they saw any vincent black shadows
No they were to busy listening to white rabbit in the tub.
@@eriktruchinskas3747 I ride the big fuckers. Ya know, the big ones.
I have always wondered how much of what Brent knows is self taught. :)
You guys are awesome. Wish i could work on cars like this work a job.
i remeber an old video where he talks about leaving school and how he teaches himself everything, could be wrong though
That Dakota digital was a life saver. When k swaps came out nobody had a adjustable high and low frequency tach output. And I didn't want to drill a hole in my trans just for an output to dash lol. K20z1 swap.. That's awesome that you showed the Dakota.
really love you channel. .. living in the us, is a dream for a car tuner. i live en danmark. and building cars in denmark. a pretty painful, because every time you just need the smallest part. it takes forever to get the parts home.. i would love to go to the nearest shop or could get it send by night... damm that most be nice..but then it is perfect . i can use all the paintful waiting time watching you guys channel.... big thumpe up all the way from dk...
You’ve done it again Brent!!! Excellent job on tuning and Jamie with his filming!!! God damn you’re so good that I’m angry!!! 😡. Keep up the good work! Much love ps. Happy birthday Brent!!
Brent is great. He built my 1997 Prelude, sleeved, pistons, rods, studs, GT35 turbo.. was nothing but problems but i don't blame Brent. Great guy, and I am happy he has a new home and it is actually his now. More great things to come I am sure.
I could listen to that glorious J series sound all day and night
This is why I love PFI Speed keep up the great work!!
Engine is so smooth its almost boring haha
Fr
It’s boring.
Ryan Malin guess a low 12 high 11 sec car is boring.
Ryan Malin what do you have? A 8 sec car?
@@TheBb6prelude He doesn't have a car
Man I wished I could have an awesome job like that!!! When you love your job it doesnt feel like work! I want that so bad!
Love your videos guys keep up the good work. PFI ROCKS
Damn I love the way J series sound.
TDIAWD I agree.
That swap looks so clean like it was meant to be in the car from the factory👌🏾 I love these dyno videos. I'm definitely going to y'all to tune my car when I finish my build. It'll be worth the Virginia to Colorado trip haha
Im from Nova myself and would love to make a trip out there too see the boiz and those colorado trees ;)
You the man when it comes to wiring n tuning!
The passion that these guys have for building project cars is amazing! Been following for quite some time. I want to take the plunge and turn my Subaru legacy gt to a hondaru so bad Haha. It's got 125k miles and debating a built shortblock or hondaru now.
First dyno tune I've seen on youtube where you actually tune and check how drivable it is. Nice one 😆
Quietly this is my new favorite channel..Production quality has really improved ... just do me a favor, never start clogging lol
Same we have same taste bro
you dont need the extra box . . D plug has the inputs from the Hall effect sensor . A09 is the out to the dash .
Just dyno tuned a j32a2 today with the vss not working. So no vtec. Made 237whp. Obviously much lower than it should be. So you have a video on the wiring of the sensor, instead of using the box?
My favorite channel on the Tube!
Good work guys! That things making great all motor power!
To the legend Brent, happy birthday from California! Hope u have a blast out there in Vegas man!
Its very impressive how much knowledge brent has. From srt4 to 2jz to j series!
Come here because I like learning from you... It's awesome that you take time to school the students that came to learn....
That spaghetti would drive me NUTS! LOL
Sweet swap!! Love Brents attitude
I need a tune on my J35 and your the only man who can do it
a friend of mine has a j32 swapped si too! badass v6
I love the j swap. But for a daily driver I have to have AC. I would love to have a tune from you, you should do a tuning video showing some of the details and how you arrive at the final tune.
hey brent love the vid insane i needed this u guys are the best also you and jaimie together are frkn dangerouse man keep up the good wrk dude ..
A set of itbs would make this sound insane
Happy birthday 🎉 Brent !!! Squirrel says have fun in Vegas. 🔧🐿
I know someone thats put a accord four cylinder stock motor into a civic body.
Runs and works well, the thing is pretty quick.
Now how many have done a swap like that ?
He got it done since the accord body work is too pricey to repair.
And the original civic motor no longer works.
So the accord motor, transmission, ecu, etc was put in to make one working car, out of the two cars.
Some parts had to be custom fabricated to make stuff work, brackets, cables and so on but it works.
I love j series, got a 08 tl-s
Nice,J35. I have an 05 TL,love it
I'm in vegas atm working on the new Amazon building right there beside the speedway/dragstrip. Id love to go watch some desert racing while I'm here!
Love the build
I'll take 260 na over 260 boosted anyday. Such an awesome power band
you do realize a boosted car will outrun a N/A...same hp.
@@ericxiong6582 Its a v6. I'd take that over a boosted 4cyl same hp. Would crush it on a dig unless the boosted driver knew all about brake boost.
I really enjoy watching these videos because of how much of a car guy this gentleman is he doesn’t care if it has 100 hp or 5000 hp it’s just cool to him to see any car make any kind of power that is awesome especially in a world where if you don’t have 800 horse power or more everyone thinks your car is slow but obviously power to weight ratio has a lot more to do with everything then just raw horsepower a 1800lb 300 h.p. Civic is just as fast as a 800 hp 5000lb vehicle literally almost identical power/weight ratios so once again horsepower isn’t everything if your car weighs alot
PFI getting up there in Subs boys haha catching up with boostedboiz 👌👌
Have fun in the dirt man. I've got some friends out there running. Truck 6185 and a few SXS's running with Desert Vets Racing. It's a team of military personnel
i love seeing J-series content, gets me excited about the potential of my motor, i have a 2003 honda accord coupe v6 3.0, and it says 240hp stock, but i did'nt know the potential for tuning it to a higher level, ................. i could'nt imagine the pull and torque that light civic would have with that motor with vtec, cause i know it has some pull, or at least compared to my old dohc ZC crx, but i realise its no mustang, but i am still a honda guy
Man, y’all were in my local!!! P.s. j series!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!
What a chill dude.
one day I will have a j series swapped car!! awesome tune and happy late birthday Brent!!
The limiting factor with the j is the small cam. J37 crank for a oem stroker would make a huge difference.
This channel is growing so fast,🤘🤘🤙
Quick question, does the exhaust not typically have a probe in it and/ or an extractor pipe to get rid of the gases? :)
I love the subtle sound of a j swap. It'd be a beast for a sleeper car.
Love your content guys keep them coming
Wish I had the cash to V6 swap my 07 Civic. Great video!
That's why you let the qualified, licensed and the experienced to do the job 👍👍☝
Give me a bunk bed and 10$ a hour to live near you guys and work on cars with you guys. Being around people like you is worth 50 a hour in my eyes! You guys are amazing.
Impressive! Good job Brent! See if you can talk them into a progressive 200 shot 💪
Whats up guys, visiting Denver, Colorado for a week or so, came all the way from Miami, Florida. Was hoping i could stop by and meet you guys in person. Huge fan of the channel you guys are doing a great job! -kenny
They're in Vegas right now bud
@@jayw4777 thanks for the heads up
When do we get to see a badass video of that bugeye wagon I keep seeing in the background. I would love to see a video on it. I have a 02 2.5ts
Hi Brent, happy birthday! Have an amazing time in Vegas 🇩🇰 Tine from Denmark
Was waiting for the turbo spool.... and was let down.. lol so use to seeing turbo videos
There's a certain charm in N/A motors. Can't beat that sound.
Happy birthday brother!
Bro it sounds so good
this is legit my dream build...
J series sounds great, i want one in my EF!
J series is the big V6 form the Acura line.
@Skynet Cyborg acura/honda v6.. accords, tlx, odyssy, mdx, rdx, ridgeline, rlx, tl, rl , cl .. it all depends on the year though and the brand.. the first j engine was in the 97 cl, and 98 accord the j30a1... and the models have went up from there to j32, j35,j37.. the biggest engine was a j37a5 in the zdx.. i think the most powerful is the j37a4 that came in the 2014 tl.. but that thing was heavy as hell.. after those years acura ditched the 37 and kept with newer j35s and making the cars lighter.. like in my car 2012 accord i have the j35z3 thats the manual version.. in the 2013 they went up to the j35y2.. the last j's they made is newer mdx.. since the new tl is going to be a newer power plant i dont think its going to be a j though.. this particular engine is from the 2003 acura cl j32a2 .. great engine but hard to get.
I need to learn more about these swaps
does hasport mounts create supporting mounts for the J32 to fit underneath the hood/bonnet or was it fabricated?
Has sport has the mounts and they go either way
PFI and Humble Performance my favorite tuners. Better then any street rat hood tuners PERIOD!
I'm gonna have to check that humble performance channel after this video.
"There's an app for speed...........
but not for two-step"
👍👍 from this guy
Nice build! looks awesome, sounds awesome!
I would still throw a couple of tiny turbos on it just for shits and giggles, and low end torque. :)
Shlomi Vinny turbos for torque? They gotta spool 1st!
Bad ass setup!👍👍
I love my j-swap civic. Night and day difference from D16y5 with CVT to J30a1 6spd manual. Reason for J30a1 was they’re readily available and didn’t won’t it to be faster than my actually track car.
jesus a J series in this little SI the thing is lightning speed. awesome swap guys i just subbed to channel i love honda vids and swaps
Brent is the guru of tuning!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENT!!!!! PFISPEED!!! BOOSTEDBOIZ!!!
Hey guys, awesome vid!! I'm really interested, what was he running for coils? And that was just a swap no cams or anything? Awesome content, love to see how the translator works....was always too nice for me.....haha haha.
Sweet ride!
The Rad poster next to the TV! BADASS!!!
Not sure if you'll ever have time, but could you do a video explaining what changes when you dyno a car in different gears?
I understand the big picture, but it would be really cool to get more perspective from a tuner.
pretty basic right? You tune in 3rd or 4th in some cases because its the gear closest to the "middle". The AFR will be different in every single gear, considering. so most tuners use a middle gear to tune to ideal AFR and typically it is fine through out the entire gear pattern. you can tune a car in 3rd, then do a run in 4th with the same car and get different HP numbers.
@@jackhofalot6705 I always thought they tuned in 4th because that gear is typically a 1:1 ratio so it's the closet gear to using an engine dyno.
They are using boost by gear solenoid also so he wants to verify the boost for each gear. 3-4th gears are basically the same rpm as the engine so loading on those gears is safest for the engine.
@@theFLORIDAman NA car
510Redneck yea this car but when it has boost I meant.
Happy Birthday Brent!
Damn thats nice. Would love 2 step for my j series lol
Got the same motor in my cls, j series ftw!
I love these j motors, my 2001 TL with the j32 made 220whp with stock everything minus a cat back, tune and port matched intake and exhaust manifolds...
@@thiscrazytangerine8954 what ecu are you tuned on?
@@hapkin2179 this was back in like, 2008 lol. We were having to use Apexi afc neos and a boomslang harness just to tune. Saw gains around 10whp but that's it.
Now throw a supercharger on it.😆
Those are so hard to find, has other made any besides comptech
Actually, here you go...you will not be disappointed with their kits. Plus the work put into their J-series they have produced some excellent HP & TQ gains!

@@ityaboimeh3954 rotrex. That's what I have
Sure if you're happy with 400hp..it would be a shame though..there are stock internal turbo J series pumping out near 1000hp, they are an incredibly stout block
@@ligmasurvivor997 there's a supercharged j35 doing 634 right now. He's upgraded his rotrex unit. He'll be at or close to 800 whp. Not stock block but a supercharger doesn't mean 400whp. Eveyrhing else is spot on lol. A Jseries can do 800+ whp on almost stock eveyrhing. Just rods, valve springs and really good fuel.
My 03 TLS very good at destroying auto trans ha. Wish I would have found a manual TL. The J are fun tho.
A little late to this but anyhow. On the states the tl never came with a stick. In 03 the CL type s had a manual option but they're getting harder to find
Brent you should start doing a ride alone video with all the cars you tune when you are done. Would be perfect ending.
That car is sick!
