    All his dad can say, is kill me. All those years, of pain and torture, loneliness and torment, ultimately broke his soul. Not even meeting his daughter Ashin could bring him back to life. All he wished was to end the suffering. That’s how a slow and agonizing fate he suffered 😔 And how Ashin must have felt after he saw her father like that, and that she was the one who had to end him.

    This moment is what triggered the entire zombie thing, I honestly wasn't expecting Ashin to go super dark... It makes me want a season 3 even more.

      @@flyguy1827 It was definitely a key trigger. The annihilation of the village, the rapes and now she finds out her father is still alive but is mutilated and tortured for a long time. I think findijg her father was the final button to be pressed before she went on her rampage to get revenge.

    damn imagine having a super nice father and then one day he disappears while all your clan has been slaughtered. Then some 20 + years later you find him chained, hands and legs cut off, realising he just spent decades alone in a dark room, tortured and humiliated.. story from hell

    I literally tearing watching this scene.
    JJH acting is one of the best, she can be sassy, sexy, flirty, bad ass or even the very sad person....

    Ashin's father, Tahab who only wanted to be a dutiful person to Joseon so maybe they can treat them (the tribe) better, instead he got treated as a betrayer with arms, legs got cut off and blind eyes, like a human pig who need to eat garbage every day.... After beeing separated for years with her daughter, the only words he can tell her is to just kill him.
    this scene is... heavy. even from her child days, little ashin who only wanted to be happy with every single person in her family, and tahab whos wishing for better days for their tribe hence why he accepted the 'duty' about spreading the rumor. the poor dutiful and gullible person being a toy for the powerful person above them. its how hierarchical system being portrayed in joseon by the writer.
    Also before tahab left, he told ashin to take care and protect the family. But after the massarce ashin got no one left. And being told to kill the only person left in her family, which is her own father. She really got nobody left to protect. She's all alone. And Joseon (the powerful people above the weak and poor) being the one who caused it..... insane, how the writer can write such background story for all this tragedy... with such pain inside the character....

    The most disheartening fact is that all of her suffering was all because of some ginsengs. The Haechow Clan killed the Paejawi because they accused them of stealing the ginsengs and caused Min Chi Rook to blame her village and father so avoid all out war

    • @weaver1507
      @weaver1507 Před rokem +2

      To be fair this was the jurchen's fault, they should not have crossed into joseon land as they agreed. Min Chi Rook was not left with much a choice because if he didn't lie and place the blame on ashin's village then the Koreans would be forced to fight a war on two fronts and joseon would likely fall. He is still a scumbag for not protecting ashin at the very least. The father's fate is truly fking heartbreaking as he was just a family man trying to make a better life for his tribe in joseon. Btw it's "Haewon" Cho clan.
