So if I'm understanding this correctly, she's the one who knows the secret of the plant and is using this to take revenge on her enemies (who attacked her village), and those who refused to help her. If y'all noticed, the guy who rejected help to the girl is one of the protagonists from season 2 helping the prince. Good job dude, you were indirectly a cause of the disaster lmao.
No different than the gun guy causing the pandemic by chopping up the infected guy and feeding his body to the hungry people
The korean general also used that plant to stop the japanese invasion in korea(in that universe). The strategy is highly effective and the plant serve its purpose. It really matters how you use it.

That explains why? Apparently for Kenya like some places it takes 2 years or something for some shows to be available to watch. I got to watch the very first episode of s1 Kingdom when it first came out on January 25, 2019. Ya, your best option is to watch it on a website called dramacool where I watch that and many Chinese and Korean dramas.

She’s not an anti-hero, she’s a straight up villain. She’s deranged. She wants everyone dead. I feel for her because of everything she went through, but man, she just wants the world ‘burned’.
The best revenge ever. Never underestimate anyone just because they seems weak or little. She is the best character in Kingdom. Hope Ji Hyun still involve in Kingdom Season 3.

Agree her complexity is amazing. In one way we can call her 'evil' I mean she cause the death of thousands people but unlike Cho and the queen that see peasants as insignificat because their upbringing she came from literally the bottom, she see a chance for revenge and she take it. I can't hate her because I understand why she did it and damn her I actually rooting for her when she did her revenge. She literally got nothing to lose, no attachment, she didn't even feel anything when she got raped. Her vengeance is satisfying to me
a Villain backstory so compelling you end up rooting for them the entire time.

Just watched.. Knowing nothing that this movie is the presequel of kingdom season 2.. Just happen to watch.. Wondering why the 3rd act was parallel to the kingdom series.. Kingdom brings that breathe of fresh air to the zombie genre. Hate that it’s so under rated for such a brilliant series.
This movie is a lot better than the series. I literally cried for five minutes cuz of what happened in the first half of the movie.

I have watched Kingdom S1 and s2 almost 3-4 times still I'm not get over it. And this special episode also hit me the same way. This series is one of my best watched ones. I have been waiting for s3 it's been almost two years now. Netflix, drop the new season already 😭
Perfect casting choice. Even as an asian, Jeon Jihyun's face always looked ethnically ambiguous to me (literally thought she was Japanese for years after watching her movie blood), a great fit for her character who doesn't belong to any particular place. Not to mention her understated acting was amazing.
The northern part of 萬里長城 is not Chinese territory.The area was Mongolian, Manchurian and Korean territory.

the Great Wall isn’t even featured in this movie so u are confusing ppl here with that Chinese letters. the girl’s village in this movie is a Jurchen village that is lawfully living inside Joseon territory. historically northeast part of Korean peninsula along with whole northeast part of China were mostly under nomad(Manchu or Jurchen here) influence and context in this movie is that it hasn’t been long since Joseon forced them out and established border that is similar to current Korean peninsula’s border to China
I don't think they were entirely Mongolian tribes, bcs there were many big and small tribes around that area. At the same time, their way of living, things they're eating (pork), and yellow teeth, they're definitely not from Mongolia. Mongolians are meat (beaf, etc) and diaries. For example, they don't have yellow teeth that described as Europeans. Even if you go to Mongolian tribes now, they have the most white and healthy teeth. But with clothing and fighting, YES. It was definitely the same.
@@nomingansu7752 Yes i was so confused with bad yellow teeth , and they were wearing some kind of mongolian style clothes. Didn't go together so well XD. If they are nomads they should have whitest teeth? I don't think diet of nomads were that much different. And i am not even sure if Manchus really did eat pork..like they are usually not animals that nomads rise.

Why is the scenery, mood, story and production value so UNDERRATED in this show! TAKE MY MASSIVE LIKE NETFLIX!
Okay, came across this and watched, didn't even realise it's part of a zombie series and I was screwing up the order. But wow, that was so dark, storytelling AND cinematography was next level, and the end was simply satisfying. Should have been longer though! Totally got me feeling sympathy for the character and even thinking her actions were justifiable.
The adult female lead was so chilling... her face is expressionless 90% of the time but she just switches from having sad puppy eyes to looking cold-blooded and slightly deranged. Creepy as heck! And she used to be a sweet little kid!
Will be checking out the series next.

When season two was released my family had a Kingdom themed binging party, I can't wait for an Ashin of the North and season three party too!!! This show is so well made. It's undoubtedly one of the best shows in my opinion.

No it does not. The white walkers arc vs zombies, kingdom wins for sure. But got had a good consistency for the first 5 seasons with lots of subplots. Just becuase the final seasons were bad does not mean the whole show was bad.

Just watched it! Absolutely amazing. It's nice to see a strong character build as it gives purpose for the villain's cause and justify the madness. ( And not suddenly burn everything to the ground because a bell rang... Like got🙄) Amazing cinematography. The actress is so beautiful and gave strong emotions. Felt the bitterness of the character in an unjust world . Am super hyped for the new season...

Is amazing, a great cast and a powerful striking story, the music is just awesome. How far could someone lose themselves in revenge and the desire for madness?. All the way, in this case as this story points to an origin story for the larger Kingdom one.

Just so it's clear ashin of north is the precursor show to the kingdom series. Ashin is the one who gave the resurrection plant and taught the doctor from the series how to use it to raise the dead. This was than used to raise the dead king at the start of the series and started the whole mess.
