I love how everyone talks about books. People just say like “Oh I like to read.” And they leave it at that. Book tube let’s people share what they like to read. And form connections through that. And people always look down on me because I like “teenager books” but look at all these other people who love them as-well. So it just makes me feel less alone in my reading tastes.
If you can afford to take your bills, your rent and basically survive AND save for your future, then why not.

Off-topic but as an astrology lover I would LOVE to see you do book recommendations based on sun or moon signs or maybe something else related to astrology. Also, ninety percent of my favorite books of all time that have changed my life I bought solely based on your recommendations and I’m a huge fan of your videos. I love how eloquently you express your opinions and watching your videos almost feels like chatting with a friend
Before I even watch this video, I wanted to say that I just got into booktube a month or so ago and completely fell in love. Your videos and others were not only entertaining to watch, but they helped rekindle my love for reading. I haven't always been a dedicated reader, but when I do find a book/series I like, I get super into it. Through booktube, I have both regained the motivation to read and now have a HUGE running list of books to read that i never even would've picked up myself. My whole experience of booktube so far have been absolutely amazing, and this community is also fantastic ❤️ so excited to continue my journey here!
this resonated with me so much! when i first got into booktube in 2018, Emma's was one of the first channel's i came across and I always read her reviews on goodreads. I've found a few other channels i enjoy that centre around my preferred genres but Emma has always been a tried and true fav!

I love booktube because my whole life I’ve never really been good at anything or had a hobby I was super interested in. I was always “kind of” into a bunch of things but never whole-heartedly into any one thing. So when I finally started realizing my love for reading, I went on CZcams and found out other people had the same enthusiasm I did about it. I feel like it’s given me an identity and helped me discover who I am, as cheesy as that is to say. No matter what mood I’m in, I can always count on reading and/or coming on here to watch your videos to cheer me up. Thanks for being such a big light in my life ❤️

A thing I value most likely the most about booktube is that it's simultaneously a lot of fun but also thought-provoking. I'm not that much into community itself, but I love the media it comes across - obviously books, but also vlogs bc I love me some good friends as well as creative videos like tags and challenges or bookshelves reorganizations. There's a lot to love about booktube and I love seeing people passionate about things. Even though I live far away from places that book conventions my favorites go to and most likely won't ever meet the people I admire, I care about them as about friends.

My fav thing about discovering booktube is that I had almost stopped reading for two years, even though it used to be my absolute passion, and when I started watching booktubers talking about all of those amazing books, I started reading again and I haven’t stopped since. The biggest thing I love about book tube is watching the people I have watched for years grow. When you showed your original video, I realized that I've actually been here from the start. I remember that backdrop, and I remember your old bibliothon video challenges. And I love watching how much you, and many other creators, have grown over the years.

Hi, Emma!!! You were the first booktuber I ever discovered while trying to get into reading again after I finished my architecture thesis. The Mortal Instruments was my favorite series when I was in high school and the books were still coming out, so I had only read up until City of Glass. I wanted to reread the first three and continue on with the series. One of your videos got me excited again and I read the whole Shadowhunter Chronicles faster than anything I’ve ever read in my life.
Discovering your channel opened up a whole new world for me to relate to people who love books like I do, find new book recs and just have the time of my life navigating this community and all the amazing people who put out their opinions, reviews and feelings out here in this space. Not to mention the window you guys open up constantly into your lives.

booktube has helped me discover so many more books (a lot that has a huge place in my heart) and be more engaged with people who loves books as much as I do. it warms my heart everytime i see collabs in the community or vlogs with one another appearing. booktube also helps me go through really tough times in my life knowing that I'm never alone.
What a great video to come back out of my booktube hiatus. Congrats on being able to do Booktube full time. Your channel is definitely one of the reasons why I am trying to expand my reading tastes. Hi Emma, I’ve enjoyed tons of your videos and this one takes the cake. One of my favorite things about BookTube is how resilient it can be. Like every other corner of the Internet BookTube, and by extension AuthorTube, can be home to some unsavory behavior (to put it politely). But I haven’t seen a single instance of negative behavior that isn’t met with a front of kindness and discussion geared towards keeping the bookish community a warm and welcoming one. But I have to admit my ABSOLUTE favorite thing is that, thanks to the videos I make, I was able to eventually connect with my incredible wife when I discovered that she makes videos as well.
I have been following you for 2 years now, and I discovered booktube with you. It's my first time leaving a comment. I can't thank you enough for it because it really changed my life.

I’ve been on booktube for less than a year and my favorite part is the friendships I’ve made but I equally value the conversations I’ve had about books because of/on this platform. It’s also allowed me to link up some of my other passions such as reproductive rights, and I’ve read books on that subject and have been able to have great conversations about what I’ve learned here on booktube. I’m so grateful for it.

I literally found booktube three years ago through your Shadowhunter videos. I'd finished Clockwork Princess and had no one to talk to about it so I went to the internet and there was a whole world I knew nothing about! I started my channel after about a month of watching and I'm so glad I did. The friendships I've made through this platform are honestly some of the best I've ever had.

Hello Emma! I just started a Booktube channel recently. What I love about Booktube is talking about books first and foremost, and how creative this community is! I hope I can get to a place eventually where my creativity really shines through. I love your videos btw.
I been a reader since always, is part of who I am and finding Booktubers or just people that feel like sitting in front of the camera and talk about books. It makes me feel less alone I guess, specailly because where I live the book community isn't so big and most of the times books don't even make it here and after all the trouble I go through to get them and years of learn english just to read books having someone opening up a safe space to really talk about no just books but life as a reader and life in general is amazing for me :) and I love your videos
Omg this video really made me consider the idea of creating my own booktube chanel. I had this idea for awhile now but never looked at it seriously. Maybe this year will be the one I take action. But as for your question, I love booktube because it took me out of the year long reading slump as well as opened up my horizons on the literature since I'm from Lithuania and never new of the books that come out every single day outside of the country I live in. I am so thankful for the opportunity to now read all of the books I've been missing out and introduce other people in Lithuania to them
