Yep, they've got more talent than anyone today.
That's when actors and actresses could act, sing, and dance! Real talent! Not like the slugs of today.
They had talent that is timeless.
My grandfather was a camera man on several of these films she made and he said she was more breathtaking in person than she was even on a big screen. He said men used to stop breathing, literally, when she would walk too close to them. In my opinion she makes the fabled Marilyn Monroe look like a tomboy in skirts. Rita and Hedy Lamar may have been the two most beautiful and talented women in their generation, and Lamar was smart as hell, too.

Wow! What a fantastic video compilation of fine dancing by many fine actors and actresses. And to find each dance movement of many old classic movies to synch with the rhythm of the overlayed background music of the 1970s Bee Gees' Staying Alive is superb. Absolutely superb!

Perhaps not only just Stayin' Alive (Bee Gees), but new generations falling in love with this beautiful Woman with whome we get to know with your valiant effort to capture her elegance and beauty! I enjoyed watching her because she captures what I imagine it must have felt like in a world where there is little left but for the hope that must endure during war time. Excellent synchronicity to the vibe of the Bee Gees as well. Great work!

Fred Astaire was quoted as saying Rita Hayworth was one of the most graceful dancers he had ever Danced with! I would agree with Fred!

I came of age during the 80' and if I could live in any Decade for all of Eternity it would be the 80's ..BUT,
MIss Hayworth and Mr. Astaire would Have to join me.
She is graceful but what I love is her smile. Sometimes it looks like she don't follow through her moves but she is having fun like any girl would be having at a dance. It's that quality that makes you love her and for me, I put her way above Marlyn Monroe.
Their legs were perfectly 'matched' in length so the line was beautiful and they were able to synch movements. Same with Cyd Charise, who I believe he finally did admit was his favorite partner.

I have to agree ! She kept right up with Astaire who at the time was regarded as the greatest dancer in the World. She had a ridiculously beautiful body, and gorgeous face and seductive flaming Red hair (although dyed) so what She had no equal , you're right.

What strikes me the most, after the beauty, enthusiasm, grace etc. is the sheer joy she expresses in her dancing. She's obviously enjoying dancing and enjoying dancing for us... Oh, we need more joy.
Sometimes you wish the old movie stars could come back and see how much they are appreciated by this generation and put their dance to a new kind of music.
As a lover of dance these are the movies that I miss today and so enjoy being able to find them here and share with others....
Obviously, we will never see anything like this again. Who do we have today? No more glamour. No more mystery. These wonderful classic movie stars took us away from reality - and reality TV, Thank God!

Love this video of the beautiful Rita Hayworth especially the three small clips of her with Sinatra. You can tell by the expression on his face he's thoroughly enjoying sharing the stage with her
Unlike most stars who boringly insist on always being front and centre of every scene (I'm looking at you, Tom Hanks), Sinatra was quite self-effacing, eg in The Manchurian Candidate, From Here To Eternity or Guys And Dolls. In fact in Guys (on the Sit Down You're Rockin The Boat number) he's occasionally completely obscured by the other singers.
I love her, but the short hair with Sinatra. Nooo.

Whoevert put this together is a sheer genius ! At 1:45 when the screm comes in, it is flawless. Rita also knew she was the best and she danced flawlessly. The effortless and flawless dancing came from a woman who definately knew what she was doing! A spirit in motion.

Completely agree with you Karen!! It's so sad many people today don't realize she was not only a great actress, but a fabulous dancer as well!! Just yesterday someone mentioned to me they saw her in an old cowboy movie, where she played a gypsy, and danced. And they were stunned. Can't wait to forward this to them.
