I live in France and younger we had only the sunday p.m.on TV the US movies : every kind but I prefered the musical ones. Western too but with that kind of movie, this was a dream to discover them. The rhythm, this new music, : a dream. They seemed for me as floating in the air. Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth too etc ... I was 10 or 12 y.o. I'm 62 y.o. now
It's all different now, and I"m amazed at the total improvement! I'm very old now and grew up with these performers with the old style music. I didn't see anything standing out until recently when I chanced upon a rendition of old movie screen performers dancing to the new music. It was phenomenal happening for me. It was all different and amazing. I've heard tony Coates mentioned and thank him wholeheartedly for his tireless work getting the music and performers together. I think it is miraculous and I can't stop watching. After all these years the music has caught up with the dancers. Thank you!
