This is not a new video. I just made it public again. ;-)
It's a video for "The Lady from Shanghai" (1948) starring Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles who also directed this masterpiece of a motion picture.
While making this video, I truly noticed the brilliance of this outstanding film noir. It was truly ahead of its time.

A Night Like This

Putting this video together was a real pleasure since I love the song "A Night Like This" performed by the Dutch singer Caro Emerald. I hope you like it, too. The clips are from six of Rita Hayworth's films that were released in the early 1940s: Angels Over Broadway The Lady in Question Music in My Heart Susan and God Tales of Manhattan You'll Never Get Rich

Poeticjustice2345, my dear friend, I hope you like this and have fun with it on your special day! I love this Garbage song! It reminds me of my favourite super heroine (from Marvel) and I think it fits Gilda quite well, too. ;-)
Nothing Compares to You
zhlédnutí 49KPřed 13 lety
For this video, I've used clips from "Cover Girl" (1944), "Gilda" (1946) and "Separate Tables" (1958) - three actually very different films that have similar character dynamics, though, involving Rita's characters trying to win back the love of Gene Kelly, Glenn Ford and Burt Lancaster. Music: Sinéad O'Connor - "Nothing Compares to You" (written by Prince)
Clair de Lune

Just Rita Hayworth and Debussy's "Clair de Lune." I've always loved this composition, especially this orchestral version. It has been featured in a lot of films, including one of my favourites - no, not "Twilight," but "Frankie and Johnny" (1991). :-) Debussy's composition was inspired by Paul Verlaine's French poem of the same name: Clair de Lune Votre âme est un paysage choisi Que vont charma...

I was fortunate to be born in 1960, but I think the real lucky people were my parents. What a wonderful time to be alive.
Rita is 🥵 H O T!! And an awesome 👏 dancer 🕺!!
REALLY NICE JOB OF SYNCHRONICITY I LOVE... Kisses from France
Now look what we got Tramps twerking
Bob Manning,a big band artist, sang this rendition in the 1950s, and he was an American from Philadelphia.
Man, she's the most beautiful woman who ever lived!
Hayworth was one of Hollywood's finest and most beautiful dancers. Fred Astaire said she was his favorite partner.
this song works so well with the clips. kudos to the editing. thanks, this might just become a weekly visit.
El mejor es con Sinatra!! Y otros y Ford parece simio de verdad😅😊
Super talentosa única
These are great dancing videos! Thanks!
Sometimes I think the songwriters wrote the music based on the old videos of the dancing.
Man! She was so beautiful and talented! I love her dancing! 💃 ❤
I literally owe my life to Rita Hayworth. If not for her I would not be here. She made a personal appearance for the troops in Weisbaden Germany. My dad, late to the show, asked an attractive young lady if he could sit in an empty chair at her table. She replied: "It's a free country." And the rest is history.
✨🌟✨ 🌟✨ Magic ! ✨🌟✨
The mash up I didn't know I needed!
I read that Fred Astaire's fav partner was Rita
IDK but they looked so good together. That she could keep up with him says so much about her ability. I knew she could dance but not quite at that level. i will have dig into those films and see more and in context.
Hollywood back then and Hollywood today is a TOTALLY different universe between the 2.
Before the commie liberals screwed up Hollywood
Change is not always for the better, alas.
Мастерски сделанная работа! Выверенная синхронизация и отличная подборка танцевальных фрагментов.
❤...ben fatto....😂
“Hungry Eyes”-from 1987’s Dirty Dancing. Dancing in that movie, Patrick Swayze & Jennifer Grey. Mediocre performance, RIP Patrick Swayze. This vid shows how it should‘be been done. Swayze was no Astaire.
No, he was his own dancer. I have enjoyed watching both of them.
Love these mash ups. So much talent back in the day
Poetry on Legs
Absolute perfection! ❤

Rita was the most talented and also Fred’s favorite partner.
she was also my favorite
The work that went into this is incredible! Love It! 💟
I love the way they moved, with such grace and precision. ❤
My mother was of this dancing generation and had a friend who was in several movies. Mom tried to teach me to tap…heel, toe step….it was too much for me.
