Benelli's most popular gun is the M2. However, still have a bias towards the Benelli M4 but as I shot the Benelli M2 more, it starts to chip away at my Benelli M4 bias.

#ColionNoir #Benelli - Zábava
People normally relegate the M2 to competition use, but the 18.5" M2 makes an outstanding fighting shotgun. Its in the top tier for reliability while being less complex and cleaner than any of the competition. The inertia system is Benelli's true flagship autoloading design, and it works really, really well.
I agree man!!! I myself own a Benelli M2 that already comes with a 7+1 capacity right out of the box, so that right there saves me the trouble from upgrading the magazine tube to a full 7-rounds. I'm hoping to take a few shotgun courses at the range that I go to, just to see how smooth the shooting is.
Yup, just had an aftermarket bolt release installed. Nordic 3B extension kit and clamp arrives tomorrow 👍
@@mantism.d.8363 The Nordic stuff is great. I use their tubes and clamps on everything. M300C on one side and the QD slot on the other. 👌
@@mantism.d.8363 Same route I went.
Benellis inertia system is just recoil Operated dude. Stop falling for the marketing scheme. I own one. Yes it’s great, however it’s just recoil operated. Inertia system is just a name Benelli used to sell shotguns to low iq buyers so they can go on CZcams and say Colion Noir told me it’s inertia driven and it’s the best. Lol. It’s recoil operated dude.
Thanks for the reviews of the Awesome Benilli shotguns they are all great. I had a Nova issued to me when I was the Chief Detention Officer of a jail that housed federal prisoners and to transport them I had my Sig P220 45 ACP and the nova in the rack. I felt totally secure.
Those two are solid and very reliable, I’d feel safe as hell too.
I've got an M2 Tactical (pistol grip version) that I've had for years. I bought it because the M4 was about $500 more. The M2 is fantastic and can be upgraded with products from GG&G, such as an enlarged tactical charging handle, enhanced bolt release pad, optics mount/shell holder, extended magazine, etc. Maybe one day Colion will do a side by side comparison of the M4 and M2 Tactical, as well as the accessories that are available. Once you realize that the M2 can be upgraded and modded inexpensively, it becomes a viable (and affordable) alternative to the M4. My only real disappointment in the M2 is the unavailability of a breaching choke.
Really old first gen m2s use Beretta mobil chokes, newer ones use Benelli crio chokes, you might have to take your choke out and confirm what you have.
Pretty sure Carlsons currently makes breachers for both setups for 50-60 US buckaroos.
I like all of the Benelli M series shotguns, favorite is the Benelli M4 Super 90 because that is the one that I wanted to own for over a decade and now do own one.
I have the Beretta 1301, Benelli M2 and M4, plus a small assortment of Mossberg (500,590). The M4 is by far my favorite.
Sounds like an addition to your setup eh? Thanks for all you do, in front and behind the scenes. Be safe brother.😁🙏👌
Great review and I can't wait to see the update with all the accessories on it
I have an benelli m3, super fun to shoot, and i love the switch between pump and auto
Exactly. The M3 is the one I would buy if I were to buy another Benelli. Have the supernova but will get the M3 eventually.
Nice review. I just bought one but it's too cold and snowed in to shoot where I live, so I've got to live vicariously through you. Thanks!
This man!!!
Love your videos! Love from Quebec Canada!!
Please get the benelli m3 next.
Great video.
I had the m2 tactical. I sold it and just today bought the M2 field with a 26” barrel lol. Probably should have just kept the tactical and bought a hunting barrel for it. Oh well I love the m2 in all it’s fine forms! Great video! Cheers from Canada eh 🍻🇨🇦🤘
I bought the Field model M2 with a 21 inch barrel. They are overlooked and underrated
I love my Rem 870. However, the Benelli M4 is the best shotgun that I have shot...and I have 8 shotguns for comparison.(Pump and Semiautomatic)
I love my M2 and love how it stays so clean. I literally wipe the barrel with a cloth when I’m done for the day and not much comes out at all. It is my only shotgun. It’s worth it! I changed out the magazine tube for a slightly longer one that is even with the barrel and added a light for home defense.
Nice video...casual but informative too.
Nice Colion! I love my LEFTY M2 Field. It's been my workhorse for Wing shooting for over 12 years.
I have had an inertia drive in a Franchi I12 for years and I know same company but absolutely love that inertia drive. Shoots fast and is always smooth...
I have the M2 with a 28” barrel . I use it for sporting clays at least twice a week and have never had a malfunction. I have tried many different types of shotguns for clays and the M2 is my favorite , second place is the Benille super nova . After watching this video I think I’m picking up and 18” barrel for it.
Thanks
I have an M2 clone in FDE with a 24" barrel and pistol grip as my turkey/waterfowl gun. Comes with a milled picatinny that I put a red dot on. Absolutely love it.
Great review. I have been looking for a “do a little bit of everything shotgun”. I just went out and picked one up today; can’t wait to get it to the range.
Thanks Colion
That intro and then him just showing us the gun and telling us what it is just look clean and effortless
I never meet you before but colon your in my heart and your a friend to me. Thanks for your content. 👍. Love from Northern Colorado
Great content
Love the Vaurnet Legend 06's, you have great taste not only in firearms but in sunglasses as well. I just got a pair myself, the double brown, minus the purse they give you as a case they're the best glasses I've ever owned.
I truly enjoy watching your videos.
God bless you and your family.
🙋🏻♀️♥️🇺🇸
I bought Benelli Super Nova few months back GREAT shotgun!!!
Can't wait for the follow up👍
I love a Benelli shotgun as I own 3 that have MSRPs above 2K. I didn’t pay that as the street price usually knocks it down about 2-300. But I have to give the parent company some props too! Beretta’s 1301 Tactical is an amazing shotgun as well. I had the option of getting an M2 Tactical or a 1301 Tactical and I chose the 1301. I was able to find an actual LE version with the real 7 round mag tube. Didn’t have to convert it like I did my M4. Only 1 downside with this particular version is the LE model didn’t have a choke barrel. It’s strictly a cylinder barrel. But that’s not really an issue. The gun shoots fantastic! Beretta says it’s the fastest cycling shotgun out there now. I won’t question that. I cannot outrun it like I have other shotguns. I’ll still probably get an M2 as I seem to see them everywhere. But this was only the 2nd 1301 I’ve found in a store in a year. Didn’t get the first one I saw as I was purchasing the M4 that day. So don’t do any research on the 1301 or you’ll end up getting one like I did! 🤣. Thanks for this video!
You've been giving love to Benelli love for a while now. I just have my tricked out Winchester 1300.
1. Beretta 1301 tactical
2. Benelli M4
3. Remington 870
4. Mossberg 500
IMO an over/under is better than any of those. They’re way shorter because there’s no action, the barrel is way longer for their size, they’re light af, and at the range or on a bird hunt, two 3 or 3.5 inch 12 gauge shots is plenty.
To put the difference in perspective, my over/under with a 28 inch barrel is shorter than my buddy’s Benelli m4 with an 18.5 inch barrel and almost half the weight.
What about beretta 1301 comp pro 🤔
Doesn't have the same coolness factor as the M4 or Beretta 1301, but the M2 has a big advantage in being available in 20 gauge as well as 12 gauge. It's probably the best 20g semi-auto shotgun on the market. And while 20g isn't as versatile as 12g, it can do most things adequately. Including self-defense. The right 20g buckshot loads are a fine alternative to 12g for home defense, as they've got close-range stopping power similar to (if slightly less than) 12g. Slightly less potency than 12g is still more potent than anything else, including common rifle rounds.
Idk about best 20g the beretta a300 is really smooth and has the blink system for really fast sky busting
I don’t know what you’re talking about I think they’re way cooler. That’s why John Wick uses it.
@@grimeye1 Oh, I'm not as familiar with the sporting (hunting/target) models. I forgot that they came in 20g. Also 28g, I now see. If the A300 is comparable to the A400, which is the 1301 in a different configuration, then I think the Beretta could be better because I prefer the 1301 to the M2. I like the Blink recoil system. The heart of the gun is better. But I wouldn't use it or recommend it as a fighting shotgun without extensive and expensive modifications.
The A300, A350, and A400 all have long 26-32" barrels and short magazine tubes. You'd have to do a lot of modifications to get one sporting models set up in a fighting configuration like the Benellis and the 1301. 18" barrel, full-length magazine tube, optics mount, etc. The A350 and A400 also have 3.5" chambers. Since very few people use 3.5" shells for defense or combat, that's just additional weight and length.
The sporting models do have some nice features of their own, though. Factory camouflage options, recoil-absorbing stocks, and larger controls that are helpful for gloved use. People love the Magpul stocks, but the Kickoff recoil absorbing system in the A400 stocks sounds more appealing than stocks without it.
But I don't want to fumble around the house with a very long sporting barrel when I'm defending my life. So out of the box, the M2 is probably better. If you cut down the barrel and extend the magazine tube (at minimum), the sporting models could compete favorably. They're also available in 10, 12, 20, and 28 gauges. If someone was to combine the best features of both the sporting/hunting/target and defensive/tactical/fighting models, it might be the best fighting shotgun there is, even giving the Langdon 1301 everybody loves as a combat shotgun a run for it's money. If lacks the recoil-absorbing stock and enlarged controls from the sporting models, which seem useful. But it's much better set up as a fighting shotgun than any of the sporting models.
It would be a lot easier if Beretta and Benelli offered the combat shotgun configurations in different gauges, as they offer the sporting models in different gauges. The sporting models are pretty awkward to use for home defense. They're great for their intended sporting uses, though! I'm more of a defensive shotgun guy, and I'm inclined to hunt and target shoot with the same shotgun I have set up for self-defense. I think it's good to build that familiarity and mastery. Perhaps someday I'll buy a shotgun configured exclusively for recreational use, but I'm not ready yet.
@@Paelorianwhy do you like the 1301 better than the M2? Also, isn’t the 20g lighter than therefore more susceptible to greater recoil?
I like the look 👀 thanks for info
Loved the review. Benelli is absolutely amazing in shotguns. Still don't know that I could justify the purchase. Maybe one day!
I love mine too, for all the reasons noted
Nice video and very informative and very entertaining and very satisfaction more videos.
I love my super nova but you may have just sparked my interest. Especially since i dont have a semi auto shotgun
Great love my Benelli supersport, thinking of getting a m2 tactical!!
I think the Benelli shotguns are the best shotgun as an all in one for defense and versatility and hunting . I want to shoot this one I have the M 4 , great video keep em coming .
If you think the Benelli M2 is near perfection, get your hands on on a Beretta 1301. Smother operation and easier loading. They took the best of the M4, M2, and their competition models and made the 1301.
That’s my next shotgun. Do you have the LTT version?
I got a 1301 on Layaway!!!!
I own the LTT 1301 as well. It's a beast of a shotgun. Fighting gun right out of the box.
I don't have the LTT. I have the LE version. It already had the +2 and pistol grip stock, but not threaded for choke. I had the barrel threaded for a choke by my local gunsmith for $100 and run a cylinder bore breacher break on it. It saved a nice chunk of cash getting the LE version over the LTT.
Prepare for double feeds!
Benelli in a few words, "SIMPLY PERFECT" let start by saying, thurly enjoy your candid video reviews. Benelli is my goto shotgun, home defense, field, smashing clays! My favorite is the Benelli LE Vinci Tactical 18.5" 6 RD 12G inertia system, check it out, would luv to see your feedback comparison vs M2. Did I mention you can purchase a speedbolt for this badboy!
Do a p80 build I’d fw that
Right on!
The M2 just needs the loading port opening up and a solid lifter added and its virtually unbeatable.
I hope to try on one day.
As a gift to myself for my promotion, I bought an M2 in December of 22. I had to have a second Wick Stick lol. It's the perfect shotgun. I got the 11006 20" and added a +7 extension.
I love my Benelli M1 and now I have to thing the M2 may have to be added to the collection. The. Benellis are truly combat ready and reliable right out of the box. No smithing required. Not a lot of firearms you can say that about. The Winchester 1894 perhaps.
I think you looked like you just got a perfect christmas present and went ham with it. Thats good enough for me.
Lots of Italian boomstick vids out lately. Garand Thumb just released on the Beretta 1301 and a rather new comer to the review circuit is a fellow by the name of Pi.Stacheo who reviewed both the 1301 and M4 (with humorous takes).
Italian shotgun day!
One of my favorite shotgun
Excellent
Thanks for the hoodie more importantly the friendship.....
I am loving all the shotgun content coming out lately... even if the best shotgun ever is the 1301. 😉
The 1301 might be one of the best, but the M4 is a proven platform that nobody can deny.
@@thefrogking481 the M4 is definitely the best, but has the price point to match. The 1301 is significantly less expensive and doesn’t sacrifice much to achieve that price point.
Agreed. I'm a shotgun man myself.
@@thefrogking481 I've shot both. The 1301 eats the M4's lunch all day, everyday. It's lighter, faster, easier to manipulate and control, and easier to load.
@@WRXXXualagreed.
Seriously looking at an M2!
It's interesting watching the different type of delivery between Colion and say Garand Thumb.
Love my FN P12 Shotgun but, would love to own a M2 one day
Those chevron do nothing for recoil mitigation. The beretta kick back system is the real deal neil!
“Benelli was the first to come up with inertia design”
**me looking over to my browning auto5**
I have a benelli m2 for trap shooting initially but it’s a great all around shotgun.. way way lighter than my m4
Cool gun!
Love inertia driven Benelli
If you like that you should try a Beretta 1301 Tactical, slightly easyr on the pocket book..... Love ya Bro..... Keep on keepin on !!!
This, love my Beretta 1301 Tactical....
I got an M2 tactical several months ago and totally agree with your points. Great shotgun and amazingly light. Had debated between getting the M4 or the M2, and while I think the M4 is an outstanding gun...probably the best home defense/combat shotty out there to date, I found it a tad too heavy and unwieldy for me. The only complaint I have with my M2 is the difficulty in loading the magazine tube. Unlike my supernova, where loading is effortless, I found it takes a lot of effort to push the shells into the magazine tube, frequently pinching my thumb at the portal as I apply force to get the shell in....any suggestions on fixing that?
I just did the Taran Tactical accuguide lifter. Easy install (plenty of YT tutorials) and no more pinch. You can also bend the shell catch a tiny bit ( half a mm ) to help feeding. You can also do a 2 piece shell catch which is what many pros use. Feeds like butter.
@@elliotserrano7333 thanks for the idea!
Colion. You have to get the 1301 before closing out a shotgun series.
Local shop in my area has one for sale $1,000 used. I've been looking at it now for 2 weeks I think I want to buy it before I lose out.
Turner's outdoorsman or BassPro warehouse under 600
You need to try the benelli m2 performance 3 gun version.
Say lite and like 27 times in a row... Awesome shotgun!
Do a beretta 1301 review
I have the Bernelli Nova and will have to get this one to Compare and contrast. Nice video but you seem to be having too much fun.
That intro was ASMR level satisfying
You have to do a review on the Beretta 1301 tactical GEN 2
My favorite Binelli. m2
I'm a fan of the versa max. Used a Benelli in the Marines and it was ok.
The VersaMax is basically a Remington M4 clone.
I would like to request if at all possible and if you can find one, a review of the thunder ranch edition of the Mossberg 930. Since you seem to be doing the Benelli M series, I would be interested in seeing your opinion on opposition semi-auto shotgun
Bell clicked comment left thumbs up per usual
I only have 2 shotguns now the Benelli M4 that I don't use anymore because I bought a Rock Island Armory VR 80
Hi there could you please do an independent comparison of the sig p365 spectre and the canik tp9 sf elite combat executive as well as video comparing all guns with gold barrels
Can you do a DP12 shotgun review, please?
Nice gun!
Colin, can we get a review, on the new Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical?
Love Benelli
Been a fan of ya. I’m 2A with u, but I’m disappointed that you haven’t spoken on 2A contradictions regarding our community that’s not right, ex. someone from our community waking up getting shot dead by forces but he’s being blamed since he slept with a gun next to him.
I need to see this shotgun up against the mossberg 930 and beretta 1301
Thanks Guys!
I've always wanted a Benelli shotgun, but I went with the Mossberg 930 tactical and I can't say that I regret my decision, so much so I bought two.
Mossberg and a rem 870 hard to beat benelli beretta makes fine shotguns as well. I've actually fallen for the CZ shotguns function and price I likem all tho lol
The 930 is a heavy beast in the hands compared to the M2 or M4. Runs filthy too. Have owned all three. The 930 is a good gun, but of the three it's by far the least reliable. The 930's saving grace is that Mossberg customer service is fantastic...never heard any other manufacturer rep say "oh, that part breaks all the time, I'll send two."😁
What about the M3?
That's the shotgun I really want next to an AR15 410 upper and a 12 gauge AR10.
Looked like, when you loaded it, that it’s a 5+1 capacity. Like to know that barrel length.
What are your thoughts on the Fabarm STF12?
Can you review the origin 12 shotgun
I like the way the M2 shoulders better than the beretta 391. I haven’t tried the 1301 though. Is it like the 391 in length of pull?
Taran tactical has an elevator that goes the full length so note more bite when loading.
I got an m3. By far the best shotgun I ever owned or shot. Benelli is the king of the shotgun market. Bar none.
I know that an ATI bulldog shotgun isn't a high dollar shotgun but I would like to get your opinion on it. Maybe you could do a first opinion video on it.
May have found my new shotgun going to go get.
Nice shotgun but I already have the iwi tavor ts12 and it has shot everything I have put through it.
Curiosity question. What do people think of semiautomatic bullpup shotguns?
My M2 24 inch IS my only shotgun lol. I would recommend Hayes custom guns to send yours to. they'll get it setup right
Can you review the Franchi affinity 3 or just tell me your thoughts on the weapon
