    I got the Benelli super sport, after watching your review of that gun. Never regretted it it’s a great gun. The Benelli mechanisms stay so clean with the inertia system only the barrel needs a clean after it’s been shot, and they’re very reliable too. Always enjoy your videos Lloyd, they’re very informative.

      Thanks Mick, I did want a supersport but I couldn't justify the cost for what I use it for. The M2 is enough fun for the job I use it for.

    I have a 12 year old M2 with a comfortech stock , I use it on ducks , geese , clays, rabbits and mainly on pest birds in the vineyard ( 700 acres) . The vineyard loads are 65mm 1oz no 11 , light cheap loads , I have never had a cycling problem caused by the ammo, In the annual 7- 9 weeks of grape protection I average 200 rounds per day , 6 days per week , and have done for 8 years now , so work out how many rounds have been through my gun . All that has gone wrong with it is the return spring became a little weak and although it still worked I replaced it, before the last goose shoot , and the butt pad wore a little when rubbing on the seat of the Kawasaki side/side . It is a great gun

    I have been interested in buying an M2 for some time. Its a fantastic gun and used one previously on a mixed geese/duck and walked up pheasant. My concern is that I keep hearing that it doesn't consistently recycle smaller shells like the 30g 6s or smaller. Have you ever experienced this issue?

    I'm quite sure what makes the M2 worth twice as much as a Franchi affinity? From what I can see you get 1 extra choke and a Benelli box instead of a Franchi one and pay nearly £600 for the luxury?

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  Před 4 lety +1

      They feel very different in the hand if you have ever tried shooting both. I agree that on paper they are "the same gun" but they are not, The M" has a much more premium feel IMO and the Franchi has the recoil spring in the fore end with no rat tail, so the balance is different. Small differences for sure but you get what you pay for.

    • @superflyfarmboy
      @superflyfarmboy Před 4 lety +2

      @@lloydyp I did look at the M2 twice, but in the end couldn't justify double the price tag. I'm not knocking the M2 as I know they are a good working gun, but so is the affinity, + when you look at the fact you get a 7 year warranty included £600 odd quid is a bloody bargain.

    • @basshnter1997
      @basshnter1997 Před 2 lety

      They do feel different in the hand.
      The pistol grip on the Franchi is much slimmer than a Benelli.
      I don't have gorilla hands so the Franchi Affinity is more comfortable for me.
      My buddy has an Ethos sport and that grip is fat.
      As far as reliability, it has been flawless for a few thousand rounds now shooting clays.
      It should be as its stamped, Benelli made in Italy on the reciever.
