I was hired after a 10 minute interview. Not only did they hire me on the spot but they processed my paperwork in 15 minutes. I went for the drug test 20 minutes later and started working the very next day. I was suspicious as HELL, but figured I'd work for a few weeks, get a couple of paychecks, then quit. Guess what happened? Eight months later and I'm still there and I love it. Best job I've ever had.
Same for the last 2 jobs I've had. Hired on the Spot. Last one I stayed at 10 years, this one it's been a couple of years. He has a point, however I know all these jobs are the same, pros and cons. Don't walk away if you need money. Take the job, you can always quit when something better comes along.
You need money before you can search for an ideal job. Emergency funds are crucial. 6 months to a year of absolute necessities. No leisure, until you find the ideal job. If you don't like that or need a job faster than that, then you'll have to take the quick hiring jobs just to get by.
@@user-fm4qb7br7oI hate almost all entry level jobs, but now I deliver food with ubereats. If you need money fast and have a car, delivery apps will definitely help
It's not only a desperation thing. Sometimes there are points about the job that are extremely sketchy that were not outlined in the description at the agency or on the advertising website ala Indeed/LinkedIn. Things like being paid into crypto currency or something similarly sketchy.
I had a 5 minute interview 4 years ago for a customer service job. Hired immediately, started 1 week later. 5 promotions later, I now run my own team of research analysts. I LOVE the company I work for. it's not always a bad thing when you are hired quickly.
Interviews just suck and rarely can you actually get anything from them. Most of the time neither of you know about each other until you actually start working there. Very few jobs legitimately need an interview, some only need proof of skill and ability. Unless you there to negotiate something it's just a waste of time
You don't know what kind of job he is talking about and it's also not said here if that is actually a permanent job. There are so many open questions here. So that's not even a red flag because he hasn't told you the whole story.
Exactly ,you apply for jobs ,never hear anything , or you have a good interview and have a positive feeling about getting the position and they say they we will get back too me and I never heard from them again.
@Jcat24 that happened with a new bakery opening in town I got the interview she said she would get in touch ...never happened here I am still looking for a job.....😢
Yep. I always say I can start immediately and have open availability because I’m usually so desperate for a job and I want to be hired as much as possible lol. Once I’ve been there for awhile I tell them I can’t work on weekends because I “go out of town to see family, sorry” and they usually comply. It’s funny being hired for my flexibility and then slowly having like no flexibility available
@@scarakatorza That happens. A job agency is making money for far less work just arranging the meeting of employer and employee. After that they have an automatic cut of your wages (unless you get upgraded to a company staff job) for very little effort beyond managing your taxes etc. So it's in their best interest to bend over backwards and hook you up with the employer ASAP. Because if you aren't making money, they aren't either.
Lol same!! I interviewed at 10am, was called back at 11am to come in at 1pm to get drug test and background. Got the job by 3pm and it was a love hate relationship for almost 7 years.
True my worst 2 job hire me on the spot sadly I stuck it out at both of those jobs for a year however thanks to those two crappy jobs I now make six figures in own my own home
Funny story - I sent my resume to a local company (I'm an electrical technician), and the owner called me and was just like, 'bring your tools you could start tomorrow' and I did. That company owner taught me more about the right way to do things than anyone else I ever run into. We're still friends, 26 years later. We're getting ready for this years holiday party next week. Life is a trip. Ya never know. Trust your instincts, but don't be afraid to take chances. Sometimes things work out, and when it comes to companies...well, they might look good on paper but treat their employees like shit. Or they might be kind of a mess and fly by the seat of their pants on a daily basis, but they care for the people that earn them their money. Ya never know.
@@gradoisx2348 It's kinda like the difference between a mechanic and an automotive technician. Two very different things, if you are in the field. Ya know, actually working in that field, and not just disparaging people on CZcams.
my third job, one i’m at now, hired me pretty much on the spot. they’ve treated me with so much respect and given me enough shifts to properly live. they also looked after me when my dad passed and helped me out in every way possible. sometimes a good job is just a good job
My 1st job out of college I ended up in a room with 4 departments. The interview was more of an argument on who got me. Sometimes a business is just growing fast and have so much work to fill that they are not picky. It's only the stagnate businesses that you have to watch out for fast hires from.
I think it depends the thing you really need to watch out for is when they say “we’re like family working here” that just means they finna use you and abuse your work ethic till you snap😅😂
True that, I have a story. My bf got hired by a husband/wife owned bakery. Used that tagline, and yet they really treated their employees poorly from what I saw. All minimum wage (even though it’s extremely expensive “high end” bakery and the owners live in a giant fancy house) and one employee was told she was NOT allowed to take off to attend a family funeral, they make everyone work on family holidays like thanksgiving and Christmas 7 days a week, my bf who only applied and was hired to be a dishwasher - they made him do their plumbing (instead of hiring an actual plumber) and helping them create the complicated bakery items (while obviously not trained or compensated for it). No employee discount, insurance or any other benefits lol
Happened to me once. Their air conditioning was broken the entire year. No heat in the winter. No air in the summer. And the coworkers were so nosey. I was being asked constantly about my diet. They kept trying to make me eat more. I told them several times I am eating as my nutritionist told me and tracking my food accordingly but they kept insisting I eat sweets almost daily. I eventually left for my own health.
Well, to be fair you can't get an interview at Walmart unless you pass the quiz to submit your application. They won't even let you apply unless you prove you know the basics of the job and customer service. Actually not a bad way to weed out the candidates who wouldn't be a good match... but Walmart is always hiring because they, or at least the one I worked at, threat their people as expendable. And some managers expect you to put the company above your family and your religion. "Working on Sunday is against my religion" should be the end of the conversation.
No cuz why did I go to my interview and the guy walked me around the store explaining what the job was. He asked me 3 questions and said I'd be a good fit 😂😂 Luckily- it's temporary
My 16 year old brother was hired on the spot because no one applies at walgreens, only old people and they needed a young male so bad. I have never seen the shelves so stocked and the store so full before. For his first job, I’m so proud!
just don't let them abuse the fact he is 16, theres been alot of problems with stores doing that lately. just make sure he knows when to much work is to much. otherwise have as much fun as possible stocking its a hella lot easier than registers.
@@Suno-ta-sei oh okay, he’s having trouble with working times, he currently can only work 28 hours and some overtime if he wants. He’s trained for everything cause no one does anything specific. But he says registers suck too. He likes working there, just trying to work too much. Thanks for the advice!
@@natk4017 well my mom spoke to the manager directly about having a job for my brother and I, I don’t work cause of college and school. His classes are easier than mine. But my mom gets a feel of them. And the manager stopped us while we were shopping to meet the rest of our family and say how much she enjoys my brother. So I hope that means they like him and treat him well. My brother talked about working at another store and the manager looked offended. They love to have him there!
I went for a job interview. Guy said they'd look over everything, and call me back at some point. A couple hours later while at my grandmother's house i got the call back. I didn't want that job, but said yes anyway cause i was standing right in front of my grandmother. In little less than a week i was so depressed i was back to being suicidal. By the end of my first week, i had put in my 2 weeks. The people were great, just the job itself was awful. It played up all my worst traits and it made me feel horrible.
That’s what my place is doing to me. Especially management. They are catching onto me acting different. Yeah. This place is hell. It has CHANGED me. But I know I can get out and get myself back. I better. I hope you can too.
Truth. They were like "clean record, serious referrals, has own tools, has four cars, has a license for almost everything, we can hire you for 18 an hour😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂18?!?!?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 nope.
I love when they say I have a few more interviews lined up this week and we will make a decision then they call you same day. I'm like y'all already lying
you ever apply for a job, get an interview, do good in the interview then start second guessing if you really want the job or not and get nervous that they might actually hire you 💀
An underrated fact... This guy is a master in this his style of videography. I don't think anyone can beat him in it. The way he moves the camera fluidy, focuses on objects of his choice, zoom seamlessly, etc... Masterpiece ❤.
My favorite is; "We're looking to make a decision by Friday. We will definitely give you a call by Monday to let you know either way whether you got the job" and then you never hear from them again.
I had a place call me an hour before the interview to cancel it because the position had been filled already. I was walking out of my class to leave early to get there and got that call. :[
Interviewed by the shift supervisor, I was asked relevant questions concerning the position and work environment. The supervisor loved my responses. I was hired on the spot. To date, the highest paying job I've ever had, with a comfortable environment, plus perks. God is so good!!! Glory to God!!!
So freaking true!!!! They always say we're family when Making you do extra work and helping out more making them look good without giving you compensation or credit but all business when enforcing rules or unreasonable deadlines.
I was sorta hired on the spot. Technically i didn't have an interview. I filled out a job application, and the manager called me a couple of weeks later asking "do you still want to work with us?" I took the job. Its an A/C company in texas fyi. I like my job as a senior in high school lol.
I'm a manager, had a kid who worked for me, really nice guy and he enjoyed the job. One day before his shift he texts me saying he won't be returning, he had to take care of his grandma, and mentioned that I was one of the best bosses he's ever had. But that was the worst timing, because the holidays were upon us. So, I had to hire asap the 1st person I liked. So, hiring on the spot isn't inherently a red flag. Edit: Before any more of y'all pull a muscle from doing all this reaching trying to find SOME kind of red flag. I was VERY transparent during the interview. They applied knowing the holidays were coming up, and they agreed to work holidays if necessary. We even conducted a working interview so they can see what the job entails on a daily basis. I sent an offer letter a day after our initial meeting, and now they're thriving! A position for our social media ambassador opened up, which they applied, got the position and even got a raise! Y'all are gonna miss out on a lot of great opportunities trying look for these "red flags". 🙄🙄🙄
Same here! We had two people leave for better job opportunities, leaving us with about 6 people who could run the store, but then a month later three leave at the same time all for better paying jobs except for one who was going to school still and had to focus on studies. My boss immediately had me interviewing people and hiring who I thought would fit on the spot because we were approaching holiday season and we were severely short staffed Lol
I’m a supervisor for a company that provides medical & housing aide to our disabled & homeless population. Keeping a full staff, that is flexible regarding task. Is difficult when so many ppl think they’re better than my clients, so at times I must do phone interviews and hire quickly. But majority of my staff have been with me for yrs🤷🏽♀️
Bro if he doesn't think about returning, if only for telling you he's quitting, you might have been one of the best bosses, but definetly not the best. Therefore yes, that is indeed a red flag.
I didn't even get an interview for my job. All I did was apply and right after that got a call saying that I was hired. No orientation or anything. Big mistake because I hate it there.
I took 2 jobs where I was hired almost immediately. The 1st one was Cracker Barrel. I had an interview and halfway through she stopped asking questions and said "you know what, your resume is great. You're more than qualified and you seem like you have a good work ethic. I'm gonna go ahead and hire you." And I thoroughly enjoyed working there. My 2nd job was I had applied to be a nanny. I met with the mom of one of the families at Starbucks and we had a casual interview. She told me she'd call me by the end of the week because she had 2 more interviews lined up later in the week. She called me about 3 hours later saying she really liked me and wanted to hire me. I ended up working for her for over 2 years. She and her family became like a second family to me and even now that I'm married and have kids of my own, they are still such a special people to me. But I definitely followed my gut when I made the decisions to take those jobs. If you get a bad feeling, listen to your intuition.
Had a job at bk, the interviewer looked at me, looked at the paper, asked me for my info and said "Im more than likely gonna hire you." First day, 0 training, they had me working the register i didnt understand and doing the food, on my feet for 10 hours straight and the night manager was very touchy considering i was 17 at the time. I didnt go back for the second day.
My current job which I love so much I went on an interview didn't hear from them for 2 weeks then another 3 weeks till training started. Good companies know good things take time
I was straight out of college when I went on a job interview. I knew the boss was desperate, with her only other employee going on maternity leave just 2 days later. During the interview she actually started giving me work to do. I ended up staying there for 2 hours. I didn't know this was a big red flag, since I'd never had a job before. It ended up being the worst 3 years of my life. The boss was belittling, demeaning, and just an overall bully. What made it worse was that I was the only employee, so she focused on me 9 to 5. And because I was shy and had no self esteem, I suffered in silence for the 3 years, before finally she had to shut the business down due to low sales. Unfortunately the damage was already done, physically and mentally. I was scared to get another job, knowing the trauma and abuse could happen again. I developed permanent heart and digestion problems. I ended up on disability, which honestly was a big relief, knowing I'd never have to work again. That's right, I'm actually happy I have medical problems, just so I never have to work again. That's how bad this job was. If I could go back and tell myself not to take that job, I would have. But I was desperate too, getting rejected from so many places, feeling worthless, so I jumped at the chance to be normal and tell people I finally got a job. Hopefully my story can be a warning to others. It may end up being a great job, but just be careful. Don't be dumb like me and get out if you have to. Your wellbeing is worth more than becoming someone's punching bag.
My first job outside of babysitting was working at a daycare. I have extra PTSD because of it, and it's because of the owner. I'm trying to get disability for various reasons. But I worked at that job for over two years, I believe. Horrible.
I applied to a job online, was called an hour later and asked to come in for a 3PM interview that same day. My job interview was hellish. Even though I was super qualified for it, I was basically stripped of all confidence and dignity by the end of it, each question was basically posed as a “trap” of “this will prove to yourself you don’t have what it takes for this job.” I was interviewed by two managers back to back and the second manager was the scariest and most intense person I’ve ever met. Not to mention the way she handled telling me my hourly rate was lowkey boarder line illegal. So, after all this, and sitting through an interview that was set up to convince me why I didn’t want the job nor could I handle it (and a job interview I wanted to run out of by the halfway mark), THEY OFFERED THE JOB ON THE SPOT AS I SAT THERE. I had been so excited for the job before I walked into the building. It shocked me how much I immediately knew I didn’t want it. If I’m gonna feel this unwelcome during a job interview, I have no interest in being part of your staff. Edit five months later: forgot to describe how she told me my hourly, she wrote it on the corner of her clipboard’s paper, ripped it off, folded it, handed it to me, and TOLD ME TO DESTROY IT. This was David’s Bridal in Burbank
Had this SAME exact experience and I tuned out of the interview after a while because I was so uncomfortable. I didn’t get the job obviously (and celebrated LOL), but the person who did get the job was eventually fired automatically because she was caught stealing from them 🙃 She didn’t even have that job for 6 months. I thought it was funny aaaand the office no longer exists.
used to work for Goya stocking shelves at Safeways. My interview was a 10 minute call (that they insisted had to be done while my dog was dying) and I was immediately hired after I emailed them the paperwork back. I quit mid shift first day after i was almost crushed by a box that was WAY overpacked and they got mad at me for it
My first job was like that. I thought I was coming into an interview and an hour in I was like "damn why are they showing me how to do everything already? This interview is thorough as hell."
Loool! I spoke the main man of the place and he simply said: ‘ you willing to work nights?’ I said: ‘yeah!’ And he said: ‘see you on Monday!’ Now I’m planning my escape and looking for another job 😂
I would say that if you are willing to work nights then it is likely the reason why they hired you on the spot. So if you are not prepared to have only night shifts, then look for another job. If however, you don't mind. Go ahead. Negotiate for a higher salary, they probably need you and might be willing to pay more. You would be surprised how few people are willing to work night.
it’s depends on a person if they willing to do so , for me i’m ashamed for myself, seeing immigrants workers from poor country work very hard and got a well pay no matter what kind of work as long they got pay it’s worth for them.
I guess I have just been lucky. I have been hired on the spot almost every time and have loved my job and the people I worked with. The only reason I have left the jobs I loved was because of a move to help family or for my husbands job.
started plumbing almost a year ago and at the end of my interview, he said “when would you be able to start? tomorrow would be best.” needless to say, i started the day after then interview and have absolutely loved it since. needed the job and i just stuck with it. i’ve learned so much in such little time and am already working on my plumbing license
He isn't talking about a trades job. You'll notice everyone's "whataboutisms" are the trades because you are dying for people. (Hint: Trades needs women and immigrants, and to actually pay them well but we're still ten years from that). Working in restaurants and retail of all types, I can tell you that immediate hiring is not a good sign. Almost never is there a time when it is a good sign.
@@Polareon thats the point, trade job people are saying that this could be a good thing- but if a place like lets say tjmax hires you on the spot you best not fucking take that job unless your about to go broke cus they are gonna fuck ur mental to high heaven.
@@cathedral1375 thats fair i was just noting the point where it said women and immigrants need to be hired for trades but a trade job will literally hire anyone willing to work. But i do agree if a Walmart hires you on the spot its probably not a good idea
Yeah I don't agree with this man's statement, I also hit my job within 3 hours of doing my interview, it was just a regular retail job at the time but it was a nice place to work at, with decent benefits.
I had this happen, hardly said anything, I said I didn't know much about the position and I got the job on the spot. It sounded too good to be true.. I had resigned from the job I had for 10 years for this position... day 2 I was like I have made a terrible mistake, no-one knows what we are meant to be doing, theyre acting busy while doing absolutley nothing and hating their jobs, acting hostile and saying I wasn't working hard enough while simultaneously not doing anything!!.. for perspective I showed someone how to stack a shelf and the feedback was " oh! You do know what you're doing you're not just a pretty face..." i rang my old boss I told them what was going on and they offered me a new position. I went back no questions asked. It may have been chaotic at my old job but fuck I knew what was needed to be done and they have been nothing but supportive no matter how chaotic it is. Sometimes the grass is not greener.
Okay I was literally hired on the spot during my interview. I walked out jumping with joy, so excited and optimistic. Its been a month. I want to quit. I cry almost every shift. I want to leave so bad.
My old job has to put advertisements up every 2 weeks cause they hire super quick and then the person only works a few shifts and hates it and the cycle continues
debatable because i was hired on the spot after an interview and that job ended up being such a rarity with genuinely good people & a strong team. it’s one of my most beloved experiences, i miss it & i never thought i’d say that about a job. everything is situational.
I would like to share that there was a time in my life where I was completely broken. I didn't know where to turn. I tried crying out to family members and friends, that did not work. I finally cried out to Jesus, and he heard my cry. When the bible says God is near to the brokenhearted it is very true. I cried out to God in tears, and He eventually turned my sorrow to joy. I thank God for the gift of salvation that He gave me. Now I have a wife and 3 kids that God has blessed me with. Please stick in there and give God a chance to transform your life. Cry out to God no matter how broken you are.
Same, I think he’s right 90% but my current job hired only an hour later. They really needed people since they had more orders than the last decade or so and many were staffed were getting to retirement age.
I once got called for a job BEFORE I even left the parking lot too. The year was 2004. The company was named Afni. We sold Sprint services like, cellular, "DSL" remember that, alarm services and, landline phones ALL in Florida while being in central Illinois.
My boss loved me on the interview 😅 offered the job almost 30 minutes after we were done, he was building his team still and he is the best boss I could have always asked for being with that team for 3 years, most of them are awesome people!
Exactly. He was probably tired of people not showing up and saying they didn't have a ride or missed the bus or they were late every day and blamed it on transportation.
Having a car =/= the right question employers ask. It's "do you have reliable transportation to and from the job" because there are other forms of transportation to get to your job.
Nooooooooo It means they can call u in on ur days off with little to no notice and keep you back in the evening outside of public transport times. THATS what that means
UPS is the same way. But I actually liked working for ups though. Loading the trucks and unloading the trucks is fast paste. They described it as a paid workout. UPS is actually the best job to have if you're looking to lose weight and have a part time job.
I got a retail job after an interview like that. Plenty of downtime, no insane customers, and the delivery vans were in good repair. The only downsides were a relatively long commute, a few minor material safety concerns, and the low pay. (McDonald's area hourly) I resigned to start a career that I'm hoping leads to a laid back maintenence or service technician gig. For now, I'm a commercial sparky apprentice.
I was hired on the spot once. It was on of the best jobs a teenager could ask for. My manager was extremely kind and understanding, they always made accommodation for me if I needed a quick change in schedule. In return, I offered the best I could. Then I had to leave and I asked if it was possible to come back after everything I’m dealing with is over. They said yes and I’ll be returning to the store in early January
Don't listen to the assholes in the comment section. If you're kind, caring and put effort into what you do than most companies would go out of their way to assist.
Yeah because you’re a teenager and it’s probably a low paying shit job (no offense). Even if you worked the same job but were 10yrs older, it won’t be like that lol
I got hired the day of my interview while doing my interview, went in for training the next day. The place constantly had new employees, everyone was quitting. My first week there all the employees are like " We're quitting come with us lil dude! " I haven't even gotten my first paychecks-
This happened to me at my current manufacturing job and it's honestly a pretty solid job- it's been about 6 months now and I'm honestly pretty happy with it. Pays really well, my coworkers are chill, the only thing i don't like is that the work is very physically straining. I heard it was because they had a ton of layoffs during covid, and were desperate to get new people on board as demand went back up
I got hired on the spot and I FREAKING LOVE MY JOB. They created this position so no one has ever had it but me. Hiring in the spot does not mean a bad thing.
Glad that you were lucky enough to find a job that you love. However, your experience may not reflect the experience of others. Majority of the time, hiring on the spot means that the job is looking to quickly replace others that have left. Sometimes that can be a good thing (like in your case) but sometimes it's not and can be a sign of poor management.
That moment when I realized that in all of my past jobs I was hired in the spot, but I ended up leaving everytime knowing exactly why people leave these places. They made me feel special by the way they spoke about my skills compared to others so they wanted me to start immediately everytime. That comparison is also a huge red flag because they literally compared me to people who worked for them for years when they just met me...
oh my god... now i realise how my last manager did the exact same thing. kept saying i worked quicker and learned better than everyone else. i realise now they just wanted me to work even harder to meet the standards and expectations they'd set by 'complimenting' my work like that. they ended up suddenly taking me off the rota without warning, a month before i was going to move out and needed to save up for uni. after promising me full time work for that whole month. they also paid me £4.80/hr. only the 2nd worst job i've had
I think I got hired on the spot at my interview but thankfully the work environment is really nice and friendly. It does feel like it’s own little family. My only complaint is that scheduling can be a little messy sometimes
I had a job that hired me almost immediately. It was at a small hotel right after quarantine, so they were rapidly trying to restaff since a lot of people had moved or found other employment. It was actually a good place to work, just understaffed for a bit
The way I didn’t even have an interview, they literally texted me, asked if I was still interested in the job, and then I had orientation the next day 👁👄👁
omg same, and then after the first day I quit. the people there were lazy and straight a-holes. Like they didnt even properly teach me anything they threw me in a corner with zero training and then when I stood there like wtf they made snide comments about me being lazy. i was like " wha- my dude...its my FIRST DAY i aint even got training on this???"
Honestly, sometimes companies just need a quick replacement because someone quit for personal reasons or they did something that got them fired on the spot.
Sounds like the type of company to always need someone to pick something up or cover for other sites (but it wasn’t in the job description), thus needing a car
Ironically, it is ILLEGAL in the United States for an employer to ask if you have a car during the hiring process unless driving is an essential job duty. They may, however, ask you if you have reliable transportation.
“What’s your staff turn out?” “What are the expectations you have of me for this role?” “Will I be required to undergo activities that require personal vehicle use?” “What is the work/life balance like?” - this is why it’s important to ask questions during your interview.
A job interview is not like a normal interview. in a job interview you both want to know each other, he wants to know you and you want to know what job are you gonna do there. So yes, you definitely have to “interview the interviewer”. Also people asking for information are well seen because they look genuinely interested at the job. So don t just go there, answer what they ask and then just leave.
It’s okay to ask questions but just be mindful it’s like if I were to answer them. I don’t need to say something verbatim, just enough for things to slide easy. Usually this is enough to convince a percentage to work. Those that were too smart, like yourself for asking questions, don’t matter.
Highkey though. When i interviewed with Chipotle. They hired me on the spot. And it was pretty awesome. I loved working with everyone, management was great. And i didnt feel over worked or feel rushed to fill an empty spot.
My first job was at a grocery store near me. They asked me your average minimum wage questions and hired me basically immediately. It didn't take me long to realize why every department was full besides the one I signed up for...
I got hired like that in my last one, my big boss ran out after me to tell me they don’t need to wait couple of days. If it wasn’t for family issues, I’d still be there. Absolutely loved the people
Yeah not sure why he's so adamant on this being a red flag. Many places just need workers ASAP and especially minimum wage type work are not looking for skilled workers, so why would they not hire you.
The fact that it was reverse for me is so funny, my last job took 2 months to decide to hire me and i quit after four months with no notice bc i couldn't take it anymore. My current job hired me 20 min after I turned in my application and I've been there a year and love it.
Scary is when they don't even wait to call, they just hire you right in the interview... that's when you ask questions like "this isn't a commission sales call center is it?"
I got a job at the “factory” and the woman basically said your hired but your extremely overqualified are you sure you want to take this job. I was like excuse me I don’t even have any work experience. I still went and lasted half a day it was a recycling plant and they told me to pick up druggies needles and put them in a box so I walked lol.
I thought I almost had a situation like that but apparently the reason everyone left was because most of them got fired for stealing stuff from the store
In my country minors can only take summer jobs, but I couldn't do that, so I got my first job at 21 because of uni and then corona. It is a small family owned bakery(they had a small stand on the market before it) that opened a week after. The last thing my boss asked on the phone was if I really wanted to work. They were on a time crunch and the last girl they employed on the stand was an awful employee
I have a job that I started two weeks ago, actually my first job ever so I was pretty excited. I got on a FaceTime interview with them and they started talking to me about all the stuff I’m going to be in charge of in a way that made it sound like I’m already hired and finally I asked and I was like, “Wait, is this an interview?” And they were like, “No, you’re already hired.” And personally I was like oh wow cool man but up until yesterday they actually told me how much I would be paid. Way too many red flags but ehhhhhh
With my current job, I had a screening interview on a Wednesday. A second interview Saturday. Filled out the paper Sunday. Started Wednesday. This job makes me want to off myself, but I can't leave it, or else my family can't eat.

Also the guy could have recognized him lol.
I had to learn this the hard way like 3 times before i got it thru my head. Being poor is one hell of a blinder 😭😭
You need money before you can search for an ideal job. Emergency funds are crucial. 6 months to a year of absolute necessities. No leisure, until you find the ideal job. If you don't like that or need a job faster than that, then you'll have to take the quick hiring jobs just to get by.

It's not only a desperation thing.
Sometimes there are points about the job that are extremely sketchy that were not outlined in the description at the agency or on the advertising website ala Indeed/LinkedIn.

Hire with no bullshit could mean it'll be perfect or they gonna rinse you

I was given the job offer on the spot for my current job.
But my interview was about 95% my boss sharing stories and 5% actually a proper interview
Interviews just suck and rarely can you actually get anything from them. Most of the time neither of you know about each other until you actually start working there.
Very few jobs legitimately need an interview, some only need proof of skill and ability. Unless you there to negotiate something it's just a waste of time
Mine too lol. My job is union though so at least I get good pay and benefits 🤷

A job agency is making money for far less work just arranging the meeting of employer and employee.
After that they have an automatic cut of your wages (unless you get upgraded to a company staff job) for very little effort beyond managing your taxes etc.

Eh, I got hired almost immediately at a Wendy's when I was fresh out of highschool. It wasn't a great job, but it was a job.
my third job, one i’m at now, hired me pretty much on the spot. they’ve treated me with so much respect and given me enough shifts to properly live. they also looked after me when my dad passed and helped me out in every way possible. sometimes a good job is just a good job
what job was it? curious now
You’re lucky
.
It's good management. It's 100% about who is the boss
No cap
Working in a family café as a barista, i can confirm.
yep.
I swear and that's exactly what happened to me but then I quit 🤣 and came back. They now know I'm going to snap if they try to push me again.
This is SO true. Especially for bartenders and the service industry.
I was once hired as soon as they walked into our interview and I began the shift right after we shook hands... Walmart is a different kind of hell.
Yup this is standard Walmart treatment, I worked there 6 years. If you got the interview then you got the job, they don't call you to come otherwise.
Huh, a blessing in disguise
No cuz why did I go to my interview and the guy walked me around the store explaining what the job was. He asked me 3 questions and said I'd be a good fit 😂😂 Luckily- it's temporary

just don't let them abuse the fact he is 16, theres been alot of problems with stores doing that lately. just make sure he knows when to much work is to much. otherwise have as much fun as possible stocking its a hella lot easier than registers.

@@natk4017 well my mom spoke to the manager directly about having a job for my brother and I, I don’t work cause of college and school. His classes are easier than mine. I went for a job interview. Guy said they'd look over everything, and call me back at some point. A couple hours later while at my grandmother's house i got the call back.
Horrible.

Nope never ended up getting paid for it. 😔
15 minutes of interview and I got hired immediately. Started working the next day. I love my job til this day ♥️
Hopefully people don't listen to this dude, this is trash advice
Yeah I don't agree with this man's statement, I also hit my job within 3 hours of doing my interview, it was just a regular retail job at the time but it was a nice place to work at, with decent benefits.
I remember mine was around 5-10 mins interview asked a few questions and i got the job, still loving it after 3 years
Same, except I quit after a month 😭😭

Lmao not me who just got hired on the spot 2 days ago 😂😂😂
"You can't go wrong if you're going right" yeah I'm taking that one and running with it 😂

is it the sexy animatronics?
The animatronics in here do get a bit quirky at night
Oh gosh xD
Okay I was literally hired on the spot during my interview. I walked out jumping with joy, so excited and optimistic. Its been a month. I want to quit. I cry almost every shift. I want to leave so bad.

My old job has to put advertisements up every 2 weeks cause they hire super quick and then the person only works a few shifts and hates it and the cycle continues
I thought the interviewer was going to try and steal his car or something 😂
The random paper towel tear is killing me for some reason.
Yeah, like why?

Yeah, it was more like a wave of the white flag, than a sign of a red flag 😅😅
Lmao...I’ve been searching for this comment.
Yeah wtf is that shit about
debatable because i was hired on the spot after an interview and that job ended up being such a rarity with genuinely good people & a strong team. it’s one of my most beloved experiences, i miss it & i never thought i’d say that about a job. everything is situational.
I was hired on the spot too...been on that company for 6years...good benefits...i just left this year coz i found a more permanent wfh position
Yeah It really depends on the situation
Same here, got the job hour half an hr later on the way home. City job with great pay and amazing benefits..
"Do you have a car?" means can you get your ass to work reliably and on time...
Exactly. He was probably tired of people not showing up and saying they didn't have a ride or missed the bus or they were late every day and blamed it on transportation.
@@doulaolgamke Im early with transportation and late with the car 😂
I was thinking the same.
Having a car =/= the right question employers ask. It's "do you have reliable transportation to and from the job" because there are other forms of transportation to get to your job.
Nooooooooo
It means they can call u in on ur days off with little to no notice and keep you back in the evening outside of public transport times. THATS what that means
I applied for FedEx and they didn’t even call me in for an interview. They called me in for orientation 😅😅😅
UPS is the same way. But I actually liked working for ups though. Loading the trucks and unloading the trucks is fast paste. They described it as a paid workout. UPS is actually the best job to have if you're looking to lose weight and have a part time job.
FedEx is like that. They always have been in my experience. So is UPS.
In Oklahoma FedEx has a high turn over rate. They can't stay staffed and you have to work for almost a year to earn enough hours for health insurance.
Lol that happened to me, but I got fired because they wouldn’t give me time to give them my ID or social security card for my first 3 days 😂
@@lacy9984 I live in Tulsa Oklahoma and that wasn't the case for me.
‘We’re like family here’ is an instant red flag.
I got a retail job after an interview like that. Plenty of downtime, no insane customers, and the delivery vans were in good repair. The only downsides were a relatively long commute, a few minor material safety concerns, and the low pay. (McDonald's area hourly)
I resigned to start a career that I'm hoping leads to a laid back maintenence or service technician gig.
Savor it. Ppl get a lot less understanding every year you get older 💀
Please tell me no one is pointing a gun at your head and making you say it.
Are You attractive? If you're so... that's the reason.
" I haven't even gotten my first paychecks-
I started the same day as my interview
😂🤣😂🤣 How yall making friendship that quickly!?
It started with a real issue then it evolved a repeat "hey, I'm saving you there's no time to explain"
Basically me with Walmart, except I haven't quit yet
why was everyone leaving lol
I got offered a job the same day, background check, physical exam, and fingerprinted to start 6 days later…worst job 😂😭
For you.
literally same. lucky us ig
Oh you got suckered, you need to ask for a raise immediately
@@TheHuskyK9 yeah it's almost like this is all anecdotal and not based on any statistics and therefore meaningless

It was actually a good place to work, just understaffed for a bit
my interview for spirit halloween was literally me walking into the store and them being like “so , here’s the store , you start on sunday”
Well, given the timeframe that Spirit usually works in…that seems about right 😂😂😂
spirit is such a chill job tho that it isn’t a red flag
Understandable how you feel, but because of what Spirit is, that seems about right.
spooky
Thats kind of a different situation. They don't really have time to waste at spirit Halloween
The way I didn’t even have an interview, they literally texted me, asked if I was still interested in the job, and then I had orientation the next day 👁👄👁
What type of job did you have?
Pretty common with junkyards and warehouses. They need bodies to throw in the meat grinder.
And was the job ok?
omg same, and then after the first day I quit. the people there were lazy and straight a-holes. Like they didnt even properly teach me anything they threw me in a corner with zero training and then when I stood there like wtf they made snide comments about me being lazy. i was like " wha- my dude...its my FIRST DAY i aint even got training on this???"
@@JasmineWilliams-kz4ut Same, shadowing a person for 30mins is considered training.
The reason they ask if you have a car is to make sure you have a reliable transportation.
Honestly, sometimes companies just need a quick replacement because someone quit for personal reasons or they did something that got them fired on the spot.
That company has a history of hiring people who were late to work because they didn't have a car
Or who called out because they couldn't get a ride.
Sounds like the type of company to always need someone to pick something up or cover for other sites (but it wasn’t in the job description), thus needing a car
Or it was one of those places that wants you to do door-to-door sales and needs you to have your own transportation to do so.
Ironically, it is ILLEGAL in the United States for an employer to ask if you have a car during the hiring process unless driving is an essential job duty. They may, however, ask you if you have reliable transportation.
@@Limitedonathiosmost likely just wanting people with reliable transportation.
“What’s your staff turn out?” “What are the expectations you have of me for this role?” “Will I be required to undergo activities that require personal vehicle use?” “What is the work/life balance like?” - this is why it’s important to ask questions during your interview.
Bro interviews the interviewer
@@fishscalecocaine Exactly
@@fishscalecocaine but it makes sense bro haha
Seasonal jobs be different tho. Especially at the beginning of a season.
Yeah, same thing happened with my last job. They tried to throw me under the bus after 2 months lmao
Highkey though. When i interviewed with Chipotle. They hired me on the spot. And it was pretty awesome. I loved working with everyone, management was great. And i didnt feel over worked or feel rushed to fill an empty spot.

Same story for me too, I thought it’d be different since I was hired right away at Chipotle but everyone’s super nice there

My first job was at a grocery store near me. They asked me your average minimum wage questions and hired me basically immediately. It didn't take me long to realize why every department was full besides the one I signed up for...
Give it time bro. You’ll feel it
I got hired like that in my last one, my big boss ran out after me to tell me they don’t need to wait couple of days. If it wasn’t for family issues, I’d still be there. Absolutely loved the people
Oh yeah i bet 🎊
Yeah not sure why he's so adamant on this being a red flag. Many places just need workers ASAP and especially minimum wage type work are not looking for skilled workers, so why would they not hire you.
@@goofyahhh254 Yep. Pretty much…
@@goofyahhh254 Why does a company not have retention that is good enough and need to hire the first person they interview?
The only job ive ever accepted on the spot was a fsst food place. It was also my first job.
It’s called Amazon
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I experienced this.
As a bartender, I’d you aren’t hired on the spot, you aren’t hired
I got a job at the “factory” and the woman basically said your hired but your extremely overqualified are you sure you want to take this job.
They omitted that part
I have a job that I started two weeks ago, actually my first job ever so I was pretty excited. I got on a FaceTime interview with them and they started talking to me about all the stuff I’m going to be in charge of in a way that made it sound like I’m already hired and finally I asked and I was like, “Wait, is this an interview?” And they were like, “No, you’re already hired.” And personally I was like oh wow cool man but up until yesterday they actually told me how much I would be paid. Way too many red flags but ehhhhhh
