Gojo & Aizen - "The Strongest" and The Loneliest

  • Gojo & Aizen are extremely powerful and isolated characters within their respective series, I'd also say that they are some of the most misunderstood in Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach respectively. In this video I hope to compare these two characters in order to explain their narratives and thematic similarities.

    What makes Aizen lonely is his intelligence. The only person he seeks consensus or approval from is Urahara, who's not even that strong in the scheme of things, but Aizen perceives him as smart or smarter as himself and as a result couldn't understand why someone who should've been his peer didn't see eye to eye with him.

    • @noor_xd9473

      His speech to Urahara wasn't a plead for recognition aizen on paper demonstrated that he was more capable than Urahara in every instance their is no reason for aizen to seek recognition from the guy who he beated 9/10 it was simply because they were the same thing but they choosed different paths and what aizen thought would give him contentment it's only made his position worse and the guy he was making a fool of end up contented even tho he didn't pursue his ambition unlike aizen so he only wanted to know why ? Why you have what i want and i am miserable you should've had the same path i have gone through aren't you smart isn't that the right path Urahara aren't you a fool ? For choosing the worng path ? So why i am on my knees and you are the winner ? "" it was envy "".

    I'm a massive fan of Kubo and Akutami.
    Gojo Saturo wants to change a system with his students. He could have just killed the higher ups but they'd just be replaced. He met his end against someone stronger.
    Aizen is a free spirits to break out of a system. He doesn't kill left and right as long as they don't stand in his way. He respects free spirits like Shunsui, Ichigo and Urahara.

    basically gojo and aizen were beings that wanted to change the world for the better but because of their hubris, in thinking they can be god and their extraordinary nature and powers, they ultimately failed their goals.
    i think since gojo is the good guy and since he has some parallels with buddha, will come back and achieve true enlightenment, casting aside his ego and being dedicated to his students. perhaps even aizen might have gotten a similar treatment since he is seen being sealed back, which he had to have agreed to and since he gave that final monologue but sadly, bleach was super rushed at that point to make things like that clear.

  • @ChaoticSapiens
    @ChaoticSapiens Před 4 měsíci +2

    You could also create one video highlighting the traits between Gojo and Urahara. I always thought Gojo is a fine mix of Aizen and Urahara. Since Gege is inspired by Kubo.
    One of the similar traits I think is Urahrara's mindset for winning. He fights every battle like it's going to be his last and excels at it. The same mindset was taught by Gojo to Megumi: "Dying to win and risking death to win, are completely different. Give it your best."
    While Urahara says:
    "Don’t use others as a reason for walking into death’s arms."
    "Training hard, risking your life… what’s the difference?"
    "This is a battle. If you lose, you die. It's something we all do. Preparing yourself to death to avoid death."
    And he's the smartest shinigami alive, and he's always been seen because of his intellect and not who he really is. He always comes up with a solution and fixes everyone's problems like how Gojo is deemed to exorcise strong curses and fix everyone's problems. He doesn't hold grudges and loves people nonetheless. It's like how Gojo admitted that he loves people as a human being, but drew a line as a living creature. Both of them have faith in their people.
    The only exception is he never tried to make somebody as smart as himself. (Maybe it was the Hogyoku)
    Like how he accepted the status quo, he also accepted the fact that he's the smartest, he's lonely, and that's okay. He doesn't need to change himself or people to avoid this feeling. And he doesn't have a "god complex". While Aizen was the Overman, Urahara was the Last Man.
    He also had Youruichi to keep him sane. Gojo had Geto to keep him on his toes. Urahara was doomed because of the system, and Gojo lost his youth because of the system.
    However, it's a tough video to make since both Urahara and Aizen have so many similarities with Kenjaku (Rather than Gojo). But hey, you did the Aizen, so maybe you can do the Kisuke too.

    Great video Ronin. I like these type of videos from you. I enjoy your interpretations. I won't say much about Gojo as you and many others have already said everything and it is pretty recent.
    I wanna add more to what you said about Aizen. Aizen is not lonely just because of his strength(although that's a part of it for sure and I guess you brought up strength only to compare him with Gojo which is fair). It's also because of his knowledge and his curious nature. He questions everything, which is an anomaly in Soul Society where law and order is at the top. And he knows about the dark history of Soul Society that, again, isn't known by many people. Other strong or intelligent people around him(like Yamamoto and Urahara) may possess some similarities, but they are either content with the current status quo, or are just ignorant. That's why he is lonely. So he challenges the system that confirms to the status quo of following orders without questioning anything. But the path he takes and his attitude towards others and himself is what led to his ultimate defeat which is a conversation for different time.

  • @Youngsickbacchus
    @Youngsickbacchus Před 7 měsíci +6

    Sukuna and Ywhach are both also similar since they’re timeless villains that returned essentially just to fuck up all of existence with absolutely no regard for anything. While Aizen and Gojo both have goals and aspirations that actually should be a net positive despite how the current power structure sees it, while the latter two exist almost to spite the current power structure. You want to keep the balance of your society developed around protecting normal people from the magic around them? Well fuck you should have killed this final boss a thousand years ago when it was still possible bc now it isn’t. Which makes me feel like there’s a chance we’re gonna see Itadori related to Ywhach somehow which leads to a power up allowing him to just completely overpower him to contend with his hax. Maybe Megumi halts his movement or does something from within his soul to completely mirror Ichigo and Uryu jumping Ywhach.

    • @Youngsickbacchus
      @Youngsickbacchus Před 7 měsíci +4

      Hell even if we look at the end result, like Aizen and Gojo are mirrored in loneliness, Sukuna and Ywhach are alike in their selfishness. Being the two to genuinely reach godhood they genuinely can’t care for anyone else even their own kind. Sukuna doesnt hate curses nor sorcerers but he loves trolling both of them and taking whatever the hell he can from them, he’ll share some kind words if your strength meets his criteria but nonetheless he will murder and rob you of everything even if you just wanted to support him. Ywhach “loves” his children and hates soul reapers but again he will murder and rob anyone he has to or can. He’ll kill all his half blooded and fullblooded kids if it would give him an advantage in battle and doesn’t mind taking from reapers if they make the mistake of touching him

    When I think bleach ceiling I think Ywhach, Ichigo, Aizen but the top dog among them is Aizen in my opinion Aizen wasn’t defeated he was sealed and one could argue that him getting weak enough for the seal to activate was his own doing bc Ichigo did say he felt like Aizen let up but that’s a whole different convo…even if u want to say Aizen isn’t currently the strongest you have to know he’ll eventually get there this was the case before the hogyoku his sheer talent and genius mind that made him a kido/sword master also made him venture into looking for more paths to gain more strength which led him too the hogyoku which gave him even more hax on top of the ones he already had + the fact that the hogyoku is an exponential growth machine that makes Aizen grow stronger day by day even if you want to argue that he isn’t the strongest now you know he’ll eventually get there there’s also the fact that the man has never thought it necessary to use his Bankai…we know he has this in his arsenal bc the criteria to become a captain was to have mastered bankai and kenpachi was the only one said to not have a bankai while being a captain another piece of evidence was that Aizen himself said he had attained everything a soul reaper could…he is broken his shikai is already practically impossible to deal with I think he himself sealed away his bankai so as to not overpower everyone he came across because it’d be too easy…this too long so I’ll stop here Aizen is the strongest in that verse.

    Off topic to the video but like a random nugget of a fun fact. The main character of kubo's series prior to bleach zombiepowder is named akutabi gamma. The penname gege chose is akutami gege. Maybe akutabi is his actual last name and its just coincidence but generally you choose your penname so its probably not random chance they are so similar. Theres not really much obvious similarity between zombiepowder and jujutsu kaisen other than that maki's sword looks vageuely similar (emphasis on vaguely) to the sword of a minor villain in zombiepowder. Anyway, just a pointless bit of trivia.
    On topic to the video anime and manga are often guilty of flanderizing their characters over time anyway so you can't blame the fans too much for doing that themselves. I won't name any names to avoid making anyone mad but it happens so often and it is partially because those exaggerated traits are what fans want from them. They're the reason fans like them. People like aizen and gojo because they are sigma chads not for any other reason. And those attracted to men like them for other obvious reasons.
    Lets be real people like kenpachi for the black air force one energy he exudes. Imo he's one of the worse characters in the series but he doesn have some fantastic moments of depth but nobody gives a shit about them hes just a savage that's all that matters. He didn't get flanderized but thats because he basically only had one trait from the start. Some really popular characters from other series get really flanderized by the authors over time. Even happens to main characters. So its not s shock that fans do it too.

    Just because I'm a slight power scaling nut, Aizen is actually up there with Yhwach and Ichigo. Aizen never once mentioned that the zero division would be an issue for him, just Ichigo. Aizen was still able to use Kyoka Suigetsu vs Ywach despite him being merged with the soul king - and with Reiatsu negation being a thing, that would mean that they are on a similar level.

    Watching this video makes me hope gojo stays dead in the story. Yes it’d be hype and excited to see him return in some how (the many theories have “answers” as to how that might happen.) but the complete character arc for him, makes his death satisfying in a way. And makes me happy to see how Gojo made it, and how he escaped his realm of loneliness.

    To me juju two kaisen is the perfect blend of bleach naruto and fate stay night with graphics that rival a demon slayer. The main character manages to be Ichigo, Naruto, and Shiro, all at once. The natural genius tendency of Ichigo, then the trapped curse of Naruto except darker, and the living leaving to fulfill someone else's dream that Shiro had. It's like all of the most conflictive parts of each of those characters wrapped into one.

    I think another similarity is how both Gojo's and Aizen's loneliness is because of how they limit their individualities to only their power and nothing else. While Gojo has no foil, Aizen has a big one in Urahara who isn't limited but far more formidable because of how he refuses to. We can argue that Sukuna evolving his CT could make him a foil to Gojo in that aspect as Sukuna never gives himself any titles... But I'm not that confident in that because Gojo's dead now

    • @Nandomo00
      @Nandomo00 Před 7 měsíci +1

      1) his RCT output was low, not cursed energy in general
      2) yes, he is stronger, also because Gojo was sure he would beat Meguna, but nope he lost, and one of Sukuna's abilities is to change bodies, so Sukuna won using his ability in the end
      3) Sukuna can copy techniques, it's something we know, it's not stupid that Sukuna used it after copying it from Mahoraga, by the way it's the same technique Mahoraga used in 234, and if you notice Sukuna's reaction , you can tell he was studying it, you fanboys can't accept reality
      4)Gojo dominated the fight only because Sukuna was studying infinity, Sukuna had a plan, and he won because of it, keep crying.

The only person he considered to be able to see from his viewpoint, Urahara, chose to accept the status quo and not to take action against it. This made him feel as if he was living in a world of blind people; people who chose to be ignorant of their conditions and that was what he defined as "a loser's logic".
