    16 April 2022
I've been listening to People's Instinctive Travels and the paths of rhythym for 2 years now, because I wanted to really grasp the tribe sound and understand the native tongues. I took my time with that album and really enjoyed it. I listened to The Low End Theory today and now I can't stop playing it! The jazz influence really turned up a notch and they took a different turn to really reel you in. From the lyrics, the rhyme scheme, the beats, jazz , bass and the overall feel is fantastic. It's like Tip knew that the beats gotta be better and phife knew he needed to come in spittin.
This album, The Low End Theory is iconic, plus we hear Busta Rhymes's humble begginings and hear the earliest lyrics of him refrencing dungeon dragons that nicki minaj borrowed for romans revenge ft eminem AND lyrics which were also used in his 2002 song 'As I come back' produced by The Neptunes. Maybe skateboard told busta to bring it back since he is a stan of Q-tip and Tribe. If it was then pharrel is a genius. Now I'm hooked to Tribe the same way I was hooked to The Fugees, especially Wyclef and Lauryn. If The Fugees did more material together I would say that they should have done a VERZUZ with A Tribe called quest. I'm gonna take my time with this album before I move on to Midnight Marauders. The Low End Theory is a classic. 10/10.
I feel like tribe showed the world that you do not need to be a gangsta to rap, swear a lot in your raps, do commercial raps like mc hammer and sir mix a lot, last but not least, you do not need a chain or be materialistic to be a rapper and make it in rap. I'm definetly not against the ones that do or did all that shit, its dope but with Tribe, they showed the world that all you need is great artistry. That's what they display
I hope they get inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
Shoutout to anyone who take their time to read this. Rest Easy Phife and Hip Hop for life!

People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm was my introduction to A Tribe Called Quest, mainly the song I Left My Wallet in El Segundo. Next up on the list was Low End Theory, and I'll admit that while I appreciate PITPR, I kinda like Low End Theory just a little bit more because of the songs. Tracks like Check the Rhime (yes, that's how they spelled it on the album), Buggin Out, and Butter are my personal favorites. I was kind of out to lunch on the Midnight Marauders album because it never stuck out to me. Then I fell in love with Beats, Rhymes, and Life. Songs like Stressed Out really get me relaxed and at peace, and I know little songs that do that to me.
I know this is a 3 year old video, but Anthony did a great job reviewing this classic, and I hope he continues with his music career or anything he wishes to do with it. :)

DO AESOP ROCK'S "LABOR DAYS". It's been arguably the most influential album in underground hip hop since its release, and it touches on perhaps the most prominent issue of that time, being the working population of the United States. Not only does he mention it, he touches on the issues better than anyone else. It would certainly be a privilege to see what you think of that album.
