    I Have Thunderbird 350 . While Riding In Traffic In Slow Speeds . I Can Her Gear Change Like Or Gear Slip Like Noise And Bike Gives A Small Jerk When I Release The Clutch.
    I Release The Clutch I Feel A Jerk And Gear Change Like Noise. This Happens 80% Of Time
    The Noise And The Jerk Is Not A Please Feeling And It Does Not Give The Feeling Of Smooth Ride. It Feels Like I Have Not Depressed The Gear Peddle Enough To Put The Bike In First Gear.
    I Have Tried All Sorts Of Things But Not Able To Figure Out The Problem.
    Any One Facing Similar Problem Or Know The Solution For This(Apart From Setting The Clutch And Adjusting The Ideling RPM).

    Was the bike In gear while you were undoing the nut on the sprag clutch so it didn’t rotate?

    i am guessing you are using threebond 1104, is it necessary to use 1104 or can we use rtv silicone ? also is it necessary to use this sealent if you are using a new gasket and the mating surface have no nicks or scratches ? and what are your thoughts on using sealant on head gaskets? i want to know for modern indian commuter bikes. Thanks.

    • @MechAutoClinic
      @MechAutoClinic  Před 7 lety

      1104 or RTV can be used ...but depends on spare part area or size of spare. also it depends on what kind of load is there..also depends on how many and what types of bolts used for tightening. where ever it is requited it is must to use sealant. but if gaskets are there then use gaskets rather than sealant. remember gen-x gaskets are self sticking gaskets. no need to use sealant on that...

    Great video and explanation. Is it advisable to clean the clutch assembly and the LH casing with petrol before putting everything back ? Can we also blow air between the clutch plates to remove debris? Thanks.

    • @MechAutoClinic
      @MechAutoClinic  Před 7 lety +1

      never use petrol for cleaning any engine internal spares. petrol is very harsh in cleaning. also there is a term called oil filming which is necessary to keep the engine smooth and lubricated. for some time engine may feel smooth if you use petrol but after few hundred km you start getting to feel grounding kind of a sound. oil is for to keep the engine friction free...petrol makes it harsh...you can use air to clean the engine without rotating it. if at all if you want to clean the engine internally then conventional way is mixing diesel with oil for cleaning purpose. but later part came in the market is that using engine flush. which is the best idle for cleaning thoroughly...i hope this will help you...i may be wrong....thanks...

    Bro I only use kick start, will a broken sprag create problems?

    • @MechAutoClinic
      @MechAutoClinic  Před 5 lety +1

      yes. just remove the idler gear so the sprag will not break in to parts

    Excellent video. My sprang clutch has gone on my 2010 classic 500 and sadly my bike did not come with a kick start. Is it absolutely necessary to remove the chain tensioner when replacing the sprang clutch?

    • @MechAutoClinic
      @MechAutoClinic  Před 5 lety

      Yes first unload the tension from primary chain ...otherwise tension will damage Needle roller bearing which is fitted in clutch bell/housing.

      Mech Auto Clinic I discovered the bolt and washer holding the sprag clutch it place had come out of position. Do you have a recommended torque setting for that bolt?

    • @MechAutoClinic
      @MechAutoClinic  Před 5 lety

      You are lucky nothing is broken inside....otherwise crankcase or cover breaks apart.....of course use torque with thread lock. This is very general problem in these breed and dangerous also ...
