  • resetting of cam Backlash in UCE500..If you over tight the cam then she will make humming sound if you make it loose then you will hear clatter sound. The reason behind not checking on all the four quadrant is that when I did that i found clatter sound Because when you check on every point every time you make it loose it comes to the same open position.
also, if the cams are worn out at one place then after resetting cams will make humming sound.
this is my Technic, i will not take any responsibility of anyone's bike gets damage. if you want to refer then no worries if not then also no worries.
Some people may think this is totally wrong and some may feel I am correct. So how to take it is totally depends on you. If anyone feel this Technic is wrong then do not follow.
    Thanks

helloo, namaskar and Tashi Delek. One thing you made a mistake in your explaining the backlash is , " backlash" is needed in any moving gear. Your cannot put the gear together without backlash. Tiny gab between the gear teeth needs an expansion room otherwise, the gear will fight and over heat and finally melt into each other in worst case. How do we set the backlash, you need the engineer backlash specification by using the dial indicator. Most of the time, backlash requirement is between 0.001 to 0.005 of inches. check the engineer specification. too big backlash makes lot of rattling noise, too tight makes humming sound. Keep the proper backlash for sweet operation of any gears. Cheers

Thank you for your comment Tenzin, I keep the enough tolerance when I set the backlash but has to be feel by hand since each point has diff. Tolerance level. When setting up the backlash I keep on checking. There is no specific specifications available so this is all based on judgement. I am not against your point since the data spec is there with you. Here in this case specs are not there. So judgement is the only spec what I can use. But definitely what you are saying is correct. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing & educating, well there is a tick tick sound in my CL350, can this be on of the reasons ? cause a mechanic who fixed one of my friends bike did a decent job, but the rockers were not available so the tick tick sound has reduced by say 75 %. I fail to understand how the RE guys are not fixing such a big issue with tappet/ rocker noise whatever it is....

    I have a UCE clasic 350 model
my issue is that at some times I get a loud engine sound which is coming from top part of the engine (rocker cover side)
the issue is that Oil is not getting pumped to the upper part of the engine
I have showed this to RE service centres. They do some cleaning of the filters and the issue repeats again.
Can you give some idea of what will be the exact issue?

hi sir, I am riding Bullet since last 1 years and I am really feeling so much discomfort due to it's suspension, it gives so much bumps when I ride it to even Little undulating Road, I went to the service centre telling this issue but they have just changed the swing bushes but still the problem is consistent. I tried to observed the reason behind so I found two main problems one there might be manufacturing defect in present shockers and second my weight do not come exactly over the spring present below the Rider seat. as I bend myself to hold the handle during the riding the springs do not pushes completely on the undulating Road and breakers. kindly suggest me 2 things 1 which handle should I change so that I can completely sit straight while riding the bike and in which condition the shockers can be breakdown or is there any other problem would be there in my classic 350. I request you please help because the riding of my bike is becoming horrible day by day for me and it may also cause me back problem in long run.

So you take it gently up to the point where your backlash fades to nothing and then tighten the locknut? You don't force it with any pressure or i would assume you'd overtightened it. and therefore get a humming sound.

I Have Thunderbird 350 . While Riding In Traffic In Slow Speeds . I Can Her Gear Change Like Or Gear Slip Like Noise And Bike Gives A Small Jerk When I Release The Clutch.
I Release The Clutch I Feel A Jerk And Gear Change Like Noise. This Happens 80% Of Time
The Noise And The Jerk Is Not A Please Feeling And It Does Not Give The Feeling Of Smooth Ride. It Feels Like I Have Not Depressed The Gear Peddle Enough To Put The Bike In First Gear.
I Have Tried All Sorts Of Things But Not Able To Figure Out The Problem.
Any One Facing Similar Problem Or Know The Solution For This(Apart From Setting The Clutch And Adjusting The Ideling RPM).
