    The fin-stack's are also running Horizontal on the 2X (which could conflict with front intake fans depending on space, but doesn't blow hot air down onto your Motherboard) Vertical fin-stack on the 3x (my 3080TI has this type & no issues with front fan intake but does try to cook your Motherboard so I mounted mine on a riser Vertical mount) 👍👍

    Thank you! I must say I didn’t really expect much differences. If your case would fit an Ventura 3 is definitely worth it. Sadly my case only fits an Ventura 2 however I must also say, I rarely hear my gpu fans. Question first you mentioned an I7 and later an I5, what do you run?

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Personal PC = i7 14700KF. But I've built the i5 14400 PC to test more budget-friendly GPU options such as RTX 4060 and RX 7600, etc on it. I believe, that would convey a more real-life experience to those who are looking for information about these GPUs before they build a PC. I'm not happy with how popular CZcamsrs test these GPUs paired with the best performing CPUs (7800X3D/14900K) that no sane person would use in their actual budget PC build. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my hands on said GPUs soon.🙂 No luck with that just yet tho.

      @angrysocialjusticewarrior Před 2 měsíci

      That's incorrect. He does not need a proper decibel meter for the tests he made in this video.
      He's objective was to merely show the difference margin between the 2x and 3x, not the actual decibel level of each. What was important for this test was that he uses the same measuring device for both gpu's (which he did).

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Depends on what games your friend plays. In graphically demanding games the 12700K will do just fine. In competitive with lower graphics settings you may start feeling that the CPU may be holding you back. Not by much tho. So I'd say - go for it!👍

    • @rolly5888
      @rolly5888 Před 3 měsíci

    • @dragani2330
      @dragani2330 Před 2 měsíci

      In 720p or 1080p, if you play >300 FPS, there are small bottleneck issues. If you play 1440p, you can go with most cpus >$200 and if you play 4k, even an i5 12600 KF for $160 is good enough. If you like eye candy, raytracing, $200 more for the GPU is a lot better than buying a better CPU.

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Před 2 měsíci +3

      In most games - no. I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy playing games on your new GPU🫡
      Rare examples are poorly optimised games such as Dragon's Dogma 2 when you are in the city. I haven't seen a single CPU that can smoothly run that games in that scenario. I have i5 14400 and i7 14700KF. While the 14700KF provides a smoother experience, it is still far from normal. In contrast, the i5 is stuttering like crazy in the same scenario.
      As long as you don't play games like that then you'll be fine.

  • @uglymem

    70-73 GPU temp is normal?

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Před 7 dny

      Operating at 95-100+ C is pretty normal for silicon-based chips. The product will become obsolete way before you'll see any meaningful degradation because of temperature. Irresponsible use of voltage on the other hand is more important than temperature as was proven by Intel's latest issues plaguing some top-tier 13th and 14th gen CPU units.

    What I need to know is how thermally efficient is the 2 fan model and how much noisier is it with the fans running if it gets hot? I think the 2 fan model is going to be better as its smaller and more compact does not use as much power and can fit in smaller cases the 3 fan GPU's now are getting stupid in size and weight.

    they started using those for better cooling years ago when gpu got hotter
    since like the 9 series was the last time a 3 fan card made any real difference in being cooler by a good amount
    Not only does 3 fans cost more their bigger and need a bigger case
    It’s just better to pay less and get a smaller one
    on top a bigger one can have slag easier than a smaller 2 fan cause of the weight

    I bought the Ventus 2x on the 14th May, sound does not bother me because most of the time I am wearing headphones while gaming or general computing. What did upset me and got me a bit worried was my Ventus 2x blew up last Sunday the 26th of May. I was playing a game on 4k, Ghost of Tsushima about 5 mins in and there was a puff sound and smoke came out of the side of the card and luckily my PC shut down. I had played the game for 45mins on the Friday with no problems. I removed the card immediately and it did not feel hot I then installed one of my old cards (GTX970) to see if the machine would boot up ok which it did. The dealer who sold me the card tested the card and it smoked for them too so they replaced the card with a new one. No problems with the new card up to now, was not sure if I should have asked for a different manufactorer,. I have Afterburner running now so I can keep a eye on the temps....lol a frightening experience even for a old guy like me.

    • @theivadim
      @theivadim  Před 16 dny +1

      That is very unfortunate. I'm happy to hear that you got a replacement so swiftly. There's always a chance to get a defective unit. No matter the manufacturer. I wouldn't worry about watching the temperature because that problem didn't happen because of overheating. It was an electrical problem. You can't catch it by watching the temps🙂 Luckily, modern power supplies come with all sorts of protections. That's why I thank that PSU is the most important part of PC. It can prevent fires and damage to other components by cutting power when required.

    Well i've ditched MSI for Gigabyte/Aorus over a decade ago and i would never buy those flat cheap models,
    especially as the Twin Frozers and co, always had difficulties cooling well and got pretty loud.
    Windforce 3x etc or the Aorus Models ever since and always pretty cool and relativly quiet.
    Tho gigabyte tends to overdo it, to outperform others in the Temps,
    but adding noise to the equation in the process, but thats nothin a manual curve cant change or simply using the silent BIOS if available.
    To the question: I would always go for the 3x variant, not only due to it being more quiet, but also much better cooled, a difference of 8-10°C is nothing to scoff at.
    One question tho:
    What are your exact settings, i mean yes QHD, no DLSS and co.
    My RTX3080 Aorus Master 12Gb yields me on "Ultra" 90 FPS in QHD that way and about 105FPS on High.
    And about 70Fps with RT "Ultra" active RayRecon and DLSS on the "Quality" setting and sharpen at 50.

      That brings me to my actual question: I woudl prefer the smaller Card in my case, noise does not care at all, BUT I will render a lot - meaning it will sometimes run 3-4 months straigt....
      Noiselevel doesn't matter. If I am correct, I can simply go with the smaller card and with fans spinning fast it will just stay as cold and live as long?
      Or would you think the 3X will provide more longlivety? I will probabaly use it 4-6 years until I upgrade...

    I wanted the ventus 3x but there weren't any available in my region. Perfectly willing to pay a lot more for it as temps and noise are very important to me. The only stock left was the ventus 2x or the gigabyte dual fan windforce one, and the gigabyte has very bad hot spot (97c) and noise levels (45db) with 3000RPM according to Techpowerup.
    Anyway I got the ventus 2x for 257 USD new incl delivery & 3 years warranty. Would have gone 4060 but no win7 support which I need for backwards compatibility of some things. Overall disappointed but at least I got it for cheap.
    Also had the option of Gigabyte gaming OC 3 fan model which is similar cooling to ventus 3x, but only available from overseas Amazon which means no warranty (I asked all OEMs and they all said nope no local warranty for anything shipped from overseas, although I wonder if they could tell by the serial number that it was from overseas).
    Oh and this is all cause my lightly used EVGA 1070 died - puff of smoke. Not happy with that, it was the perfect GPU for my needs, was very quiet, and I had done the thermal pad mod as per EVGA recommendation as they had a design flaw. Perhaps if I had used it heavily I would accept 7 years lifespan, but not the way I was using it.
