- How I fixed my 2014 Chevy Traverse service traction control / Stabilitrak... Well the lights came on and I took it to the shop it said it was the number to coil misfiring meaning I had to change the coil and also change the spark plug and when I did that it was not sluggish anymore and the service traction control / service Stabilitrak lights went off
FIXED! My 2014 gmc acadia slt was showing traction control off and service stabilitrak after just a few mins of driving after about 35mph if I accelerated more than 1/3 throttle the truck would cut power in quick intervals making the drivetrain shake hard. So after finding that my brake switch sensor was always triggering the lights to be on and it had to do with the slack that built up over the years in my brake peddle... changing the sensor wouldn't fixed the problem... so I added a small piece of plastic to the sensor to fix the problem. I've been driving it alot over the last few weeks with zero problems! Hope this helps someone.
I found out why mine would do that was the break pedal is lose where you step on the break the break pedal does not come up all the way where it still touches the break pedal position sensor which cause the break lights to be lit up and if you don't lift it up it will set the traction control off found that out driving at night noticing my break lights where on

Good job getting straight to the point. Also good job pointing out what YOUR fix was. This light trips for a number of different things, and a lot of times people will get theirs fixed and then post what they did and think that it's THE only fix. It's not. This circuit has a lot of things running on it and any of those sensors will trip the abs and stabilitrak. Your right, start easy.
Like I said your fouling plug caused yours, your to throttle positioning sensor dirty in the intake can trip it, your speed sensor on each wheel can cause it, I read that the sensor on ur fuel pedal can trip it, a wheel bearing going out can trip it, is imagine if the TPS is on that circuit, then the MAF, and maybe o2 sensors will even be on it. Threes a lot of things that can cause it.
I liked ur style on this vid, you pointed out what and how for your fix, and that bit wasn't the only fix, and you kept it short and sweet cause id say you were like us, trying to search CZcams on what to do, and kept finding 20min vids on a bunch of junk that helped nobody. Lol

I took mine for a Diagnosis and they found nothing wrong, yet I have this light as well. My Car hasn't lost power thank god, but it comes on and off pretty frequently.
Did the check engine light come on yet. ?? U will have to wait for it to come on in order for the machine to pick it up
If it didn't pick it up take it to another place cause if the light is on it should tell u what's wrong

I will check the Fuse I guess... They told me there's NOTHING wrong with the Truck... Now when I got my Wheel Alignment, they told me my Tires were trash lol... The front 2.
Sounds like this engine has a lifter noise….that ticking.

Yes I hope mines help you out. The best thing to do is take it to maybe an AutoZone pep boys RNs Strauss or some type of official automotive place to get a diagnosed

Mine has done this alert 2 times on cold starts. Turned it off and turned it on. Cleared
Yes but that's the indicator meaning something will go wrong it's just a warning next time it come on don't turn it off just go get it checked better safe than sorry

No problem yeah if your check engine light is on just take it to an auto shop or a AutoZone or Pep Boys and get the light checked and that was how you the problem
wow that's different yea I have the obd2 scanner. We just got the transmission replaced so I thought they stretched or broke the stabilitrac but it seems our is doing the same thing yours was doing

I’ve replaced the ignition coil on cylinder 3 and 5 so far. It only works so long until another one goes out 🤦🏼♀️
Okay if your check engine light still on go get it checked out and you might have to replace all of the coils if they keep going

Did you ever have the problem of it randomly cutting off, and then have to put in park and then re crank? With the code ignition 1 switch circuit 2
No mine never cut off it just lack power and the same thing will be happening with the stability track to your truck but may cause different symptoms so the best bet is to take it to like an AutoZone or a auto parts store and get the codes ran it will tell you exactly what’s wrong
Mine is doing this now. I've changed many parts and nothing has worked. I'm going to have the ignition switch changed and if that doesn't work then the fuse box
Try disconnecting and cleaning both sides of the battery, also check the life of your battery, it has worked for me three times. I own a 2013 traverse.
I just got the code red and fixed with the cold said and didn't have a problem since.

I have 2012 chevy traverse. Just today at home when get in the car it started good but when I tried to push the gas on driving mode the car is not moving. I'm not sure what's the problem?
Try shifting it into reverse and see if that works it could be a few things that may cause that if that doesn't work do you have a Facebook we may need to talk

Where did you get your coil pack at?
I'm not sure what city you live in but I got the coil pack from AutoZone it's like an auto parts store so your local auto parts store
Yo having same issues about to replace the accelerator pedal and sensors Chevy refuses to deem these issues as recalls along with excessive oil consumption between oil changes
Yes see the only problem with that meaning stabilitrak control light on is it can be a number of things I looked up and hit the right thing when my car started messing up.... I'm not sure too much about the oil consumption problem but if you can I would just drop it off to your local mechanic and let them look over the problem
Yeah that's the best thing to do if you can take it to the mechanic and let them look over it because they have the right tools for the job

I got it fixed, in my case after engine change, they forgot (smh)to connect back the front right ABS cable, code cleared

Another person had asked me that I think it was just because I was close to the garage and there was another car next to me...
My stabilitrak lights were coming on - I discovered it was because one of my tires developed a bump in it, and that caused the light to go on on my dash. I replaced the two front tires, the ride improved, and the stabilizer light has not come on again...
2012 chevy traverse and I cleaned out the throttle body and still didn't help. Took to a mechanic that came highly recommended he read it and it said my pedal sensor was bad so just bought the assembly to change that out with a new sensor. Same signs.. stabilitrack needs service loss of engine power...will update after complete.

The best thing I can tell you to do is if your check engine light is on take it to AutoZone and let them check the engine light for you
My ‘16 starts acting weird after a long drive saying service traction control but then the light goes off and it drives normal once i turn it off then turn it back on. It only has 53xxx miles
Thats the indicator....if ur ur check engine light is on get it checked fast. Because it would tell you exactly what the problem is

BTW. I forgot to say, I know u said earlier that you couldn't get the auto parts store to read the OBD for you.
They do have allot of rules and regulations anymore about the OBD thing because of legal issues, like I used to work for advanced and got written up for erasing an engine light once, I was mad and thought it was unreasonable, until it was explained to me why,
Imagine a car comes and has an engine light on, and in allllllllllll those codes, it had one that was extremely serious. Well you erased it, and then later, their motor throws a rod or something, and chances are they come back and blame you for not telling and turning off the light.
Also, say you buy a car that has every code thrown under the sun, but u didn't know it, cause the previous owner turned off the light and made out like it was in perfect shape.
Chances Are the light will come back, but sometimes it will take a while. I've known used car dealers to do this on the lot cause they wanted to make a sell instead of a repair.
so anyways, way off topic.....I have an OBD reader. They ain't cheap... But if you can manage to convince a shop to read it for you, it will SOMETIMES pinpoint the problem in the circuit for you. Like mine is pinpointing the speed sensor on the driver front wheel. this is also a 2012 traverse, so it may depend which year, and also may not pinpoint ALL the sensors that is on this circuit that could go bad. I'll quit now though, hopefully all this helps somebidyr

I replaced my passenger side wheel speed sensor. Was good for maybe 3 weeks . Traction control light on again and off . Gonna replace driver side
Am I the only one that has been told that I need a new motor that I have no compression in one of my cylinders? Mine does the exact same thing but says ignition coils 2,4,6 are bad and I’ve changed those and still nothing. But yet sometimes my car runs completely fine. How does a cylinder with no compression just get compression all of the sudden?

Misfires will be either bad fuel or a bad mass airflow sensor.
These videos all have different issues because all the codes are referring to different issues step one too identify your issue is to scan your vehicle with a obd 2 scanner get code and go from there, no one is wrong or right the stabilitrak and check engine lights etc can be for multiple reasons.
I definitely agree with you....that's what I was saying the first step is to get that check engine light checked and then go from there

they wasn't tryna work you w replacing all the plugs. normally when one goes they all go, one by one so its just easier
But how did you know which coil was bad?
I took it to AutoZone and they use a machine to check the engine to see which coil was bad
I just change the valve cover seals and just got the error and the engine shuts down.
Is ur check engine light on ?? If so u have to get it diagnosed an Autozone or auto parts store to check it for free

I'm not sure did you get your light check and when it came to my truck I had needed to change the coil it was the number two coil for me
Check the fuse box under the hood the 2 bolts inside the box come lose so the connectors underneath don't hold firm enough plus electrical grounds under hood

Like someone commented before, looks lo ke theres a bunch of fails that make stabilitrack and reduced engine power warnings and go off. In my case for 2012 Traverse it was coils 2 & 5, fixed them and changed all 6 spark plugs, a week later warnings went off again and started blowing more smoke than a forest fire, checked the snorkel type canister afyer the Axel body and had a bit off oil, some say it adds a lot off oil some times but wasnt the case, so i just reseted codes by disconectong the battery, reconected and its been runnig smooth a week now.
Conclusion: its a tricky MF truck

If ur check engine light is on then get the check engine light check and it will tell you exactly what the problem is
@@cvklacvkla it was on earlier and I went to pep boys they fixed a spark plug and reset anything else. I left and 20min after it came back on but not the check engine light this time.
I almost think it's the coils.
Okay and my case the check engine light told me which coil it was that needed to be changed for me it was coil to and spark plug number two
And once I changed my spark plug and coil the check engine light went off by herself there was no reason to reset it once the problem is fix your check engine light not going to come back on it don't have to be reset

Bro if u not a mechanic. Please don’t make a video. Just about everything u said made no damn sense. The real cause is the throttle body. Eventually your crap ass Chevy will do it again. Until u clean the throttle body. On another note. Chevy,Ford,Buick, all American garbage cars should never get regular gas. V6 and up.due to build up in the throttle body. And other components such as cat converters. Also don’t go to any shop. They are all crooks. The job is easy to do. Wat a waste of 3 min.
