For everyone calling the greeny trash, you have to change the modern wiring to 50s wiring and add an ABR-1 historic bridge. It'll give you the full Peter Green sound.

I git mine! I waited and waited and finally purchased one with the most amazing top I've ever seen. And i own 12 LP'S! Jack makes that guitar sing. It's a magical LP. Anybody hacking on Gibson are people that simply can't afford one. Oh yea...i paid $2,800..

Great Demo on it I can say it sounds very good. That all being said, the only thing "Greeny" about it is 2 knobs
and a reversed neck PUP. If you want just a good Les Paul with a greeny PUP it's a good Les Paul. I think for someone who wants a LP should look into it just to have a good guitar when trying it out. Just my opinion.

Just curious how they cut the nut mine was cut so low had to replace it almost like it was set up for speed metal. Not sure if it was a screw up or set up that way
What amazing playing!!! Jack is a really gifted musician. And the edge of breakup tone is near perfect, perhaps just a touch too heavy to do justice to Greenie.
i don't know how it compares to the 50 k greeny sound and playability wise but i sure like the looks of the non reliced standard personally ....
I agree totally. The marks I put on my guitar will be mine. It will show the road we travelled together and not someone else's adventure.

I'm waiting for the Epiphone Kirk Hammett Peter Green Gary Moore Les Paul Studio VOS version. Of course, then I'll have to swap out the pickups for a pair previously owned and sweated on by Kirk Hammett, Peter Green, Slash, Angus Young, and Joe Bonamassa just so my Studio has more street cred. Then I'll have to wait for Bonamassa to come out with a half hour video telling the story of the day he sweated on the pickups, and who was present in the room as he was sweating on them. Then I'll need a truss rod cover and knobs from one of Rick Nielsen's 300 Les Paul Standards from his hoarding cellar, which will probably cost me a million right there. At that point, I can just send it to Nashville and have Tom Murphy piss on it in his "lab". Then its eBay time baby!

Won't be long neck tenon. That's reserved for Custom shop
Trogly's said he will have a review of the standard in a few days. He'll take it apart and have a look, I'm sure.
Will this be a limited run or a core model?
This one seems to be a standard permanent model.
As it's the "Kirk Hammett" model, have Gibson included subtle adjustments making it impossible to tune properly?

If Jack was anything like Kirk Hammett he'd probably inscribe his name on the plate where he plugs his guitar lead in!

Because the real Greeny IS a ‘59. Kind of a roundabout way to get your hands on a kinda ‘59 model without breaking the bank TOO badly, seeing as how ‘59’s reissues run anywhere from $6,000 and up.
Why did they take off the les Paul logo? And why’s the finish satin like the epiphone 1959 les Paul? If I was going to pay that much I’d want a better nitro finish at least
Because Greeny doesn't have the LP logo. As for the satin nitro, that should be leagues better than whatever they put on the 59 epis.
It should also wear and patina over the years much better than typical lp standard glossy nitro.

I don’t know if this is the case for the person you replied to or not, but many people have the misconception that satin finishes aren’t nitro.
@@trevor4533 the only reason the logo isn’t on the original greeny is because it’s worn away over time, so it seems silly to me to “relic” the headstock in that way, great guitar nonetheless

Okay, there is a Gary Moore model, but this one could have been Greeny. Gibson has only money in her head, a sales office. + Negative to Hemmet, that he agreed to such meanness.
Weird to see how many people are miffed about Peter Green's name not being present here, when we all know there are good legal reasons and marketing reasons for that. We might know who Peter Green is, but Kirk Hammet's name has already sold a lot more guitars. And it's not like either name is the one on the headstock.
I'm not saying I like it. I'm saying I don't care.

Very weird that Gibson decided to call it "Kirk Hammett" since he only bought it and did not contribute much to the musical aura of this instrument. I think everybody here can agree that this guitar is by definition mostly associated with Peter Green
I understand where you’re coming from and agree, but the most recent generations will know Kirk Hammett’s name LONG before they’ll know who Gary Moore or Peter Green was… It’s just smarter marketing for the current and future generations who can latch on to the connection to someone they’ve heard of. Kirk is the guy making that guitar relevant in the current popular culture now. He’s the one playing it live at the shows.
It's the Kirk Hammett because it's Kirk Hammett's. That's how ownership works. They can't enter into endorsement contract with Peter Green or Gary Moore because they're dead unfortunately.
I think it was Gary Moore that really made it widely known.

At this rate.. there will be an Epiphone version before Summer time. Wtf have they done? Started as nearly priceless.. then a copy for $50k.. and it was a super Limited version... then a $20k version for the Rich... now a $3200 version for the normal folks that save up for it. Unbelievable...

It's just plain sad that the best guitar brand in the world as fallen so damn low. That's the guitar that Peter Green gave to Gary Moore. Hammet is just a rich guy that bought it.
Not much of a Metallica fan, but KH is a legend, not just a rich guy. I don't agree with Gibson selling this under his name, but I don't think that's what they intended. It's just a technically accurate name at this point. I believe they are selling this to Gary Moore or Peter Green fans.

Why is it called "Greeny"? It's just a standard faded with a reverse pickup... Gibson is really pushing it these days, and it's not their fault, it's the people's fault for keep buying their crap... so sad.
Well skippy it’s not a reversed pickup. The magnets on the inside are reversed , just flipping a pickup don’t give you that sound. It was a mistake when the original was made. It is a faded triple a top standard with great pickups for 200 bucks more. If your in the market for a standard this would be a good one. Forget the name if it bugs you it sounds great.

It should NOT be called the Kirk Hammett greenie even though he owns it currently. This amazing guitar has history. It should be the Peter Green/Gary Moore "Greenie" as Kirk Hammett can't actually play and those guys were the ones who the music with it....should be in a museum in their memory

Kirk owns the guitar and is famously playing it live now. Gibson doesnt have any endorsements with Green or Moore’s estate, but they do have a relationship with Hammett because they work together to take care of the OG guitar and Kirk has signed on for some signature guitars with Gibson

I don't feel since Kirk has owned it anyone has actually even heard the character of the instrument. Just Kirk doing his wah thing. I highly doubt if Joe Bonamassa owned Rory Gallagher's strat, he's going to want his name on it...

The fact is, Kirk Hammett is wiritng his own music on and touring with that guitar extending the history and legacy of it to a new generation and audience. There will be people that will always associate this guitar with Peter Green, people that associate it with Gary Moore and now there are people that will associate this guitar with Kirk Hammett whether you like it or not. That is the reach and the power of this guitar, that is it's legacy. Because of this endorsement there will also be an audience of people discovering PG and GM that may never have before. And that's only a good thing.
