Jeff Glor had a problem accepting Gayle when Gayle started working for CBS This Morning ...so I won't miss him...It was Jeff Glor and Erica Hill who did not like that Cbs hired Gayle ...... Erica now works for CNN in a lesser role then she would have had on CBS had they not fired her....They got rid of Erica Hill after the first year Gayle started...They should have fired Jeff Glor on that same day....but they kept him....

@@RickLopez Jeff Glor was one of the investigative reporters who would come on CBS This Morning to report on a story...and your right he was not a main host...You said Jeff Glor worked his way up..thats correct...which is the reason why Erica Hill, Jeff Glor and I believe Charlie Rose to lesser extent...had a problem with CBS hiring Gayle King.....When CBS fired Erica Hill.....the story was that Erica Hill especially did not believe Gayle King payed her dues enough to deserve a spot on CBS This Morning.....You could clearly see all of their dissatisfaction being play out on air back then....

Will miss Jeff on the evening news. He always had a heart and would be blinking back tears at times on some stories and I believe that was what endeared him to many people

My heartfelt opinion is that I only watched Jeff Glor for all news! He is absolutely the BEST NEWS ANCHOR I’ve ever watched in my 66years on this earth! He acts so human, understanding, and clearly has an empathy for the stories he reports! I think Nora is very adversarial and cold. I am so disappointed in CBS FOR THIS unnecessary change.
Not sure how Norah will work (Obviously time will tell) but Jeff Glor has the VOICE of a newscaster. Just like David Glor. Who knows how this will workout

I grew up watching CBS News and Walter Cronkite. I felt that Jeff Glor was the best anchor they have had in a long time. He always seemed fair and was more interested in reporting what is happening around the country and the world, which is why I watch the news, rather than bashing the current administration and politics in general. I quit watching CBS news because of Scott Pelley ,who I felt was the worst anchor since Dan Rather as far a political bias. I fear that we will return to that with the new changes and especially relocating to Washington DC.Should that happen,this time when I quit watching CBS News it will permanent
Cronkite was drenched in pro-Democrat bias too. Cronkite was the fool who went to Vietnam, pretended he knew about the war (he knew nothing), and helped undermine those of us serving in the military. Later, of course, we all learned how partisan a Democrat Cronkite was and how shoddy a "journalist."
Feel bad for Norah no one can beat David Muir ABC news in the ratings
She's may well be feeling the pressure to deliver and wondering if she'll go the way of Glor if she doesn't.

If she doesn't start delivering, there will be whispers of panic over ratings I'm sure & eventually she'll go the way of Katie Couric, Scott Pelley and sadly, Jeff Glor.
TJM I am so disappointed with the decisions made by the execs at CBS. I found Jeff Glor on CBS about 6 months ago and have been a loyal viewer since. When Jeff leaves the news I will leave watching CBS News.
CBS is trying to address the wrong problem. The low ratings are primarily the result of weak ratings of programs of local affiliates leading to the national news each evening. These changes shall, if anything, lead to even lower ratings. The proposed changes to the morning show are even worse and shall drive viewers, myself included, to other networks.
That been a problem for 25 years now William. CBS never fully recovered from the period of 1994-'95 right after they lost the NFL's NFC Division TV package. That is when many of their now former powerful affiliates left to join the Fox Network. So it been a huge problem for over 2 and half decades now well both Gayle, Norah and John were on CBSTM.
There probably wasn't even anything wrong with the ratings. The new head is a feminist and she's on a mission, which just might further lower the ratings.

CBS, you've put me in the unenviable position of defending Jeff Glor. I have nothing personal against him, I just grew up during the Rather era and Scott Pelley was the first anchor since Scheiffer to resonate with me. But you went with Jeff, and barely two years later you're hanging him out to dry. And of course there's plenty I don't know about the situation, but this is a BAD LOOK, CBS. It says you care more about ratings than the news, the truth, and loyalty. Sure, you cared about ratings with Rather at the helm, but you cared more about loyalty and truth.

youthful appearance for employment, they have been carefully scrubbed from the internet.

Basically yes. He was on borrowed time because he couldn't deliver the numbers. But I think the root of the problem is the local CBS news programming is weak & provides a poor lead in to the national news.

This is so exciting. I think these changes will work really well. So excited to see Mason coming back along with Tony for the morning show with Gail. John good idea for 60 Minutes. Norah, congrats mucho mucho and all the luck with this. Jeff Glor is a great newsperson and I hope to see him shining in a new role.

In the wake of the Charlie Rose scandal, it has actually (after the initial storm of course)become a huge break for CBS News. They now have their new leading news anchors for at least a while now. Gayle in the morning and Norah in the main evening chair including the all important Presidential Election Night coverage. Thus for the first time in American TV News history, the 2 leading faces of a national network will both ladies. I do hope that this King, O'Donnell and Dickerson team are back as the anchor team during the election night of presidential and midterm contests every couple of years. The days of finding Legendary Newspepople such as Walter, Frank, John C, Chet, Peter, Tom B., Barbara even Mike Wallace and Ed Bradley are probably gone for good.
I think this is a good move by CBS. Only thing is that I wish John had also kept his moderating/host job at Face the Nation in addition to his new 60 minutes reporting job. With that said, I hope CBSTM keeps their mostly news and information format and not follow the now garbage format IMO of Very Little Hard News and now mostly Infotainment that is a fixture on both GMA and the Today Show.

I find that if you disrupt this rutine the WE THE PEOPLE start looking around for a different Source for our content. The Internet has a lot of option for this. So I may say Good By and Good luck.. We like to see ourselves as free-willed, conscious beings, self-governing and set apart from other animals by our capacity for reasoning.

Jeff Glor is the sole reason my wife and I watch CBS Evening News. Young, fresh, and accomplished Jeff remains a consummate professional thru this storm of change. I don’t see my way to a positive outcome on this long term. This requires a commitment to reporting in an accurate, truthful, unbiased, evenhanded, neutral manner, and without skewing the the details and/or layering your personal beliefs into your reporting. So many find this an impossible challenge. It matters not your politics to me, but for me to trust and spend my valuable time watching your programming I must be unable to detect your stance as an anchor. I go to the editorial page of the newspaper when I crave opinion. That’s not what I expect or desire from a network anchor as a viewer.
The reason your ratings are slipping is because no one under the age of sixty watches television news. Why would I watch an hour-long crappy program just to get to a 2-minute article that I want to see?
And they're gonna rebrand the show GAYLE! Maybe they'll have a live studio audience like the second hour of GMA - "And YOU get a car Anthony Mason and YOU get a car Tony Dokoupil and YOU get a car Ed O'Keefe..."

Love John Dickerson. Love Gail King, CBS this morning is my favourite. The " me too" movement took out some very good personalities like Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose...he was a shocker, and others. Such talent taken out by bad personal behavior has left us with not so coveted personalities.

I have never been watching this show a lot but from videos here on YT I always thought that Norah asked the right questions that need to be asked. Sad to hear the news about Jeff Glor as I thought he was excellent. Will not miss John Dickerson or Norah O'Donnell and hopefully Gayle King will be the next one to go. CBS continues to make bad moves. I for one will not be watching the evening news on CBS when this change takes place. CBS just needs to have their folks present the news without their twist on issues. We can decide on our own what is right and what is not.
