  • The Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer promises to revolutionise hair drying, so let's look at the facts first.
    * Costs £299.99 (which is so much money)
    * Weighs 618 grams (around 1.34 pounds, which is light)
    * Great long 2.7 metre cable.
    * 4 heat settings (including a cool shot)
    * 3 speed settings
    * Good air flow at 41 litres per second
    * Motor in the base of the handle
    * Comes with a nozzle and travel case (which is bulky, not practical and old fashioned looking)
    You can buy it here
    www.dyson.co.uk/haircare/super...
    and at my beloved Selfridges here
    www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/d...|cid:130827896|agid:27986184776|tid:aud-51965299119:kwd-179145460124|crid:101926244696|nw:g|rnd:6358898959646254011|dvc:c|adp:1t1&gclid=CjwKEAjwkPS6BRD2ioKR7K245jASJAD1ZqHO8kTnAReGKosny12zNYXeY7QLHy01vzvv_TMmr7oLgRoCGi_w_wcB
    Bring it down to £199.99 to compare with a salon strength dryer or GHD and I say buy buy buy, it is brilliant - but for now only if you can afford it.

    Hi there,
    So I am a professional hairstylist, and I have to say, ergonomically, this is such a relief on my shoulder and wrist. Us stylists overuse those two areas, and are constantly on the hunt for tools which would have lesser impact.
    The motor, the condenser!! Really does concentrate the airflow! I'm sold!

    You're fab and I can't believe you managed to curl your hair with just a barrel brush and not have it get tangled. I've subbed. Keep it up!

    After watching Nadine's video I purchased this last weekend...bearing in mind I too hate Dyson vacuums, what vacuum doesn't pick up even a Cheerio?? Anyway, I have curly/wavy hair & use the Co-wash method because I get so much frizz. All I can say is brilliant...it doesn't blow my hair around like a mad & create frizz, it creates a steady stream of hair & I can even touch & section my hair about while drying without having to constantly turn on/off/put down the hairdryer. Hubby even commented after about 3 days on how well my hair was looking lately! If you can afford it is worth it, also understand loads of people just couldn't justify this type of expense.

    My 17yo daughter loves this. She never used to dry her hair but I got the Dyson with the diffuser and she loves it when she wants her curls to show. It's amazing. I bought it but that girl uses it more than I do!!!

    Hi Nadine, I got the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer on your recommendation and I am not disappointed! I find that washing my hair is a breeze now instead of the old dryer which made it frizzy.
    When my hair is wet I put in a detangling spray and I put the diffuser into my roots and it gives me volume. Thanks again. Shelley x

    Loved your amazing review. I am a trainee hair stylist, completing my final Hairdressing Diploma, and you’ve made my mind up for me. I really want the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Thank you. I’ve just subscribed to your channel, and look forward to watching more of your reviews.

  • @gillianengelbrecht3771

    I’ve just used mine and one thing I love about this product besides the power, the weight etc etc etc (because there’s a lot to love about this dryer) but what I truly love is the fact that there is no smoke. It doesn’t cause smoke no matter how long or how close you have the dryer to your hair which I love ❤️ love ❤️ love ❤️

    I may have to ask my husband for one of these for Christmas. I wish my hair was as easy to dry as yours! My hair is 3x the thickness/amount of normal hair and it takes me an hour to blow dry it as well as a sacrifice to the gods to make it look half decent. Great video!

    This is a perfectly designed product I have one and use it in the salon the only slight con is that the wire is a little to short. The blow drying is very easy and the power of the air flow helps in straightening very curly hair the heat is very well controlled, I bought one as i wanted to see how durable in a salon environment the dryer is.

    Haha! I loved breaking bad, brilliant show. As for time, Well you're a busy woman and you can only watch as much and do as much as time will allow. You don't need to over do it with a should issue, I've had one for years but I hit the gym a good 3 or 4 times a week now but am crazy and drag myself up at 6am to get it done.
    I do fancy Mr Robot so will check out your suggestions. Would be nice to have a chat with you one day about skin care as I'm clueless! Seriously clueless : ( . Take care Nadine and thanks again xx

    I just saw this in John Lewis and it is very beautiful looking. (In the same way, I suppose, that Apple products look against PCs), but I find the pitch kind of annoying when it is turned on. It's not louder than other dryers but it does have a different pitch/sound...and it sounds more like a hoover than a hairdryer.

    • @NadineBaggott

    Hi NAdine, what is your opinion on institut estherderm photo reverse sun cream for someone with existing pigmentation? Going abroad and want sun but don't want to make my brown and white pigmentation spots worse!!! Hair dryer looks amazing! Wish I could splash out on it xx thank you x

    • @NadineBaggott
      @NadineBaggott  Před 8 lety +1

      I love Institute but don't get their suncreams at all as they refuse to give them SPF ratings. So I would stick with Clinique's new totally mineral SPF30 ... the first time that titanium dioxide has been micronised, and it is so lightweight. Then when you get back go for some IPL treatment if you can afford them - the only really effective way to laser off sun spots and pigmentation (I have had it twice it really works)

    • @NadineBaggott

  • @racheledwards1663
    @racheledwards1663 Před 8 lety

    Thanks!! Institut claims to reverse sin spots which caught my attention how true I don't know.. What is the difference with it being micronised? Xx

    • @NadineBaggott
      @NadineBaggott  Před 8 lety

      I'm sceptical about skincare making a really visible difference to sunspots - whereas IPL/laser can zap them away in days ... also once lasered you should steer clear of the sun completely on the face or they come back.
      Micronised titanium dioxide means that it doesn't appear silvery on the skin. So it feels and looks better.
      If you are prone to pigmentation you need unscented spf 30 preferably with a 100% physical block (Clinique is all of these things)>

    • @NadineBaggott
      @NadineBaggott  Před 8 lety

      Look for totally unscented hyaluronic rich serums like Hylamide from Boots or Intitute Esthederm Intensive Hyaluronic ... You don't need anti ageing at your age just soothing, calming and hydrating. But it must be unscented, as should all of your skincare ... X

    • @patkat2218
      @patkat2218 Před 8 lety

      +Nadine Baggott thank you!!! I can order both of them from Austria as well, perfect! When would you start with something antiageing? Around 35-40? I stick to your mascara and all non waterproof products, almost only powder eyeshadows but my under eye area is still quite dry... I use vichy thermal serum and vichy eye cream as well. The cleanser is a mild milk and bioderma miscellar water. Any further suggestions for that? It's weird, I have very oily upper lids, very dry eyes and under eye area dry...

    • @NadineBaggott
      @NadineBaggott  Před 8 lety

      It sounds to me like you might have a sensitivity to something, maybe the mascara (don't use water proof it's too tough to get off), or maybe the Misceller water ... it might be drying out the skin under your eyes. What mascara are you using? ... eye creams are not really formulated to go that close close to the eye, so I would leave off the eye products completely and instead just use your serum around your eyes for a couple of weeks and see if things start to settle X

      @patkat2218 Před 8 lety

      No, I don't think you need it Pat, just be sure to hydrate your skin with a lovely hyaluronic serum, and wear a daily SPF (I like a mineral powder SPF15) ... that way you will protect your skin X

    it may have all the bells and whistles but truly not worth that kind of money! £299.00, it's ludicrous. went into #John Lewis yesterday, handled it and yes quite impressive as its very different in design. promises to dry u hair in no time! at that price I would expect an extra pair of hands or a hairdresser once a week!. One would expect that the name Dyson would become more affordable not not create such a divide in price!
    Thanks for the demonstration Nadine, but won't be buying this, even should I win the #euro millions!!!

    I saw this today in the Bay's flyer for $499.99. We women are suckers, aren't we? If this were sold to men, they'd be $49.00. This is robbery and the smart thing to do as a consumer is to let it sit on the shelves until the price comes down. There is NOTHING to justify that cost. Absolutely ridiculous! As much as I would love to have one, there's no way I'm going to be suckered into paying that high a price. Take a stand ladies and teach these companies a thing or two by not being a sucker.
