"I was elected to represent Pittsburgh, not Paris!"
Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh: "As the Mayor of Pittsburgh, I can assure you that we will follow the guidelines of the Paris Agreement for our people, our economy & future," - Bill Peduto, mayor, echoing the sentiment of the vast majority of the country and the planet.
What this boils down to is two-fold. The dangers of climate change are now dramatically increased, and America has lost its global standing and will be left behind as other nations pursue sustainability and progress. Anyone who supports this decision is the victim of a disgusting and catastrophic misinformation campaign conducted by rightwing billionaires and their political cronies to keep the money of fossil fuels flowing for as long as possible. And now there is no telling what it will cost us.

People who see the Paris Climate Accords as "a bad deal" are truly the most selfish and arrogant people in this world. The important thing is not how much the Americans gain or lose from this deal, but how much we humans can do for our planet and for each other. This is not a national issue; it is a global crisis that requires all of us together to solve it.
It is extremely saddening to see that the leader of my country has chosen economic interest over the welfare of humankind, not to mention with such outrageous self-righteousness. I normally ignore getting political on CZcams but this time I can't. I'm still in shock.

Not trying to say the information you have isn't good, but Reuters and AP isn't reliable or credible it is a collection from multiple sources, pretty much an outlet. All the information isn't fully vetted because it comes from numerous sources rather than an internal process. Reuters have a lot of news but that's because it takes news from everywhere and inherently have some fake or ill-inform news. It is an international news source that sells news to all sides of the isle but doesn't necessarily do full vetting. Although News like Fox or MSNBC spin the news they do additional vetting of the information given before airing (both stations buy news from Reuters selectively), where Reuters have less obligations to do so and have way too many news to maintain 100% quality information. In a sense Reuters is a corporate business (purely based on profit motives) that sells news to news organizations. NPR is one of the most reliable but its quite boring.

If the environmentalist side is wrong, then the U.S. re-enters pollution-heavy industries with renewed vigor after having built massive and reliable energy production plants that will only boost our economic power. If the Climate Change Deniers are wrong, every living thing on the planet gets to choke and cook their way to extinction all because people didn't want things to change.

Even if other nations weren't laughing at the US before, they do have a reason now. The silver lining in all this mess is that finally other nations are beginning to realize that they cannot rely on the US for everything (from their economy to their culture, even their political decisions) and other important players (like China, Russia and India) step in to fill the void. It's ironic that the scientific research that first drew the world's attention to the serious and quite real problem of global warming was in large part conducted in the US and now the US is the first putting extra effort in trying to revive an industry detrimental to the whole planet just for the sake of some votes and the profits of a handful of tycoons.

Well, at least China, if it takes leadership and becomes a role model, might be a model for some better values. I don't mean old communist values, but modern Chinese values of education, hard work, community and long-term thinking. America was for decades promoting values such as money, power, physical looks and aggression, whether through its movies or politics. I'm not saying that all is great in China, of course, but at least their openly expressed values wouldn't poison the rest of the world so much.

I just can’t believe that people don’t listen to scientists when they can show you the proof of how things are going and how they can get. Yet they still had a science class when they were younger and went to school and only kept the part that Pluto is a planet, and now that it has been removed from the system as a planet they say it’s bullshit and deny it because they don’t understand why it isn’t one. Most people try to get there answers online and end up in a website that gives wrong information. I hope things get better when the next president gets elected, but what does it matter if we vote as all the people that voted didn’t vote for him because he lost the popular vote from the public, but those electoral college votes count more than the people, so we have no say in it in the long run. I hope that companies still try to make it cleaner because even though he left the agreement the companies and businesses that have already applied themselves to this should keep going so we don’t go backwards. I just wow man, people don’t realize that Trump made the United States look like himself.
