- More progress! This update is an Easter Extra Special- it shows yet more work on the underpass/field scene. It also details nearly all the scenery items used and how they were integrated into the scene. This may help if you are just starting out with scenery on your layout.
For much more information on scenery items, check out our Scenery Special Editions playlist here:

We wrap up with a lucky catch- two trains seen from the road by the field.
More work travel coming up, but we will keep working on the layout. For now we will keep a weekly update schedule as long as progress is made. We will also work on a layout tour video as it has been quite a while and we have some new subscribers. So stay tuned!

The way you've actually built a bit a depth in your scenery at the back makes the back scenery picture blend in beautifully!!
I really like what you've done here. You have a good understanding that scenery is not perfect. Lots of different plants and colors. It really works well together. Really nice work.
Outstanding detail work! You can pause this video at any given spot, make it full screen and count at least 20 different species of wild growth along the tracks. That's called craftsmanship at its best. I'm hoping to accomplish this same effect using different courses of painted sawdust.
You are now obligated to find out what is on that sign. You have left your subscribers with a visual of train crews wanting to jump! Wanting to model the prototype, that may result in the MR world wanting to jump of their layout and at our age, we don't bounce very well. Looking at how much work you have left, and enjoying each video, I happy we will see updates for the next 10 years! Great work!
A day of running trains would be great and would keep your Chanel happy lol
Saw this video first and boy I have a lot to watch back.. I really like to see the progress. Awesome!
Wow. Inspiring stuff. Thank you for taking the time to make your vids!
This is nicely done scenerey, really really good! Now that the landscape comes alive, I'm even more keen on following up with your latest updates.
Cheers from Germany
+Potatoe Master Danke! We will move the scenery along as fast as we can. This is the fun part!
Great video, thankyou ! Great to see how you USE model scene, silflor stuff..If you will consider request :) a special on how you're using using the filigree materials - trees bushes.
The mystery sing could be a mile marker, or a do not mow sing. You are doing an awesome job, you layout looks great.......Kevin
Nicely done! Regarding the mystery sign, what about making a joke of it:
"Curiosity killed the cat", " If you can read this, you're trespassing" or " Please, no not feed passing trains"...
Cheers!
Or "Please do not die here! Die on someone else's railway", "if your reading this, you are probably dead" and "please don't throw anything at passing cars."
You man really are attention to detail... I sadly tore down my small little layout I was working on... As you, I'm pretty attention to detail... However with the space I have I couldn't get the satisfaction out of it... Maybe one day I will have a bigger area to work with.
Enjoy your videos though.
Looks to me like someone is taking advantage to grow a few random vegetables for home use, or small sales, so yes perhaps a seasonal road side stall would make sense. I'm guessing - as I am still doing the Bennett boxed set!
In the UK it would have a fence round it though… and then you ran the trains through to remind us what's behind it all.
ok layout coming along nicely
WOW! Looking incredible!
Great job on the scenery.
Will
Outstanding progress
Perfect! Well done! No repetitive scenery and very good representation of full scale! Love the blending from scenery to backdrop! Perfectly executed!
That center strip that runs through the center of the field does a good job pulling the eye through the scene...Gives the whole thing some depth.
Looks good so far. For water check out Kathy Millatt Modeling. Your mystery sign may be a warning for buried fiber optic cable or maybe a gas line.
Sign is yard limit or speed restriction most likely. looks fantastic.
Stephen . . . fabulous . . . looks so Goood !! Really. Exactly what I'm aiming for later. I so appreciate the way you have carefully pointed out the various plantings and the products you used. Sooo helpful
Thanks !!!
looking really good.
Beautiful work. A decent pair of binoculars might help you find out what's on the mystery sign....lol....David(UK)
Great work
your puddle is so realistic that it dried up just like a real one
It's looking Great I've applied some of your modeling to my layout and I want to thank you for making these video's. I only have a 4ft x 10ft layout and though it's small it has been a way for this Father of 4 children to keep calm while dealing with kids so again Thank You.
Looking really realistic, great work. You need someone with a drone to fly up and video that sign
Fantastic work , it's all coming a live
Cheers Glynn
Awesome!!! Great job.....keep it going!
impressive!
Another great update. Always impressed with your work.
Its looking beautiful so far, add a bit of weathering to the track and it should be golden. I do know NS uses rail greasers to grease the flanges for areas with many curves, maybe just before the bend it would be a good spot for one of those??
Looks amazing Stephen. I'm learning a lot from you right now.
I second that!
it really looks good,i love the garden
Awesome work. I bet that sign says no trespassing.lol
maybe make a trek to the spot and check it out. That would be eating away at me
I'm very impressed with the realisim.
Great progress, keep up the good work my friend.
could be a no trespassing sign, usually they're on bridges. layout is looking spectacular
Holy man! Looks amazing! Can't wait to see more XD
it is most likely a no trespassing sign along the right of way
Hey Stephen, u can use a drone now to fly near that sign on the right of way u were looking at on the prototype.
the sign might be a buried cable warning. a lot of cables are buried along the right of way some companies pay for the right to bury cable there. typically no trespassing at bridges would be along the tracks at the bridge ends but since this is more of a culvert whos to say. amazing work. is the culvert a decal made from a photo?
if you know someone with a drone they could get a pic of that sign
The sign said: Do not walk behind this sing:
Are you going to sand the black strips etc. on the road sections?
Where did you buy the Polak Products?
Great work is right!
What is the field crop?
+Ken P Question answered at the 15:43 mark.
how is your central Valley bridge coming on
+tim palmer Been delayed a bit- work travel and then working on the layout scenery. I want to get back to it later this week after yet more travel...
CAUTION DROP-OFF
A day of running trains would be great and would keep your Chanel happy lol
