Model Railroad Update Video 47-C/MRI & Sounds

We now have the C/MRI signaling working more accurately. Still not perfect, but much better for automatic operation. We also tried the grade crossing and worked the programming, with some issues still to be solved. Enjoy!

i really like the sound card idea, that would make my time in the room more enjoyable. The crossing problem might just be a setting issue.

you could try adding a subroutine during startup that will guess or preset a direction for occupied blocks.

+AD66Liberty Yes- good point. Or even have a manual input when the program starts that asks the DOT for any occupied block.

Great update. Really like the crossing flashers, who makes those? Also on NS 3000, what decoder and speaker do you have in it? Sounds really good.

+Chad Weaver The crossing gates are from Tomar. The NS 3000 is just a stock Athearn Genesis unit- I think they use the Soundtraxx cards in them.

You should not have been able to get the green clear signal at the 2:15 mark. As you later show the block after you were going into was occupied. So the best you should have gotten was a yellow approach

+Neil Thomas Indeed- this is a decision we made to show a clear. Otherwise, when running on automatic, the best indication you will ever get would be an approach, as the following CP stays Stop until the train enters the block preceding it. Another compromise running without a dispatcher. But it is a model railroad not the real thing. We can live with the inaccuracy.
