  • Work travel impacted our progress this week, but we did start on the installation of the new underpass and continued the foam base work around the end of the layout.
We are hoping to get the foam work complete this week so scenery work in this area can be continued.

Mr. Bennett that's awesomely done sir! You are doing great work,! besides cutting your finger. lol But seriously, it's not about hiding the seam as much as making the backdrop appear seamlessly never ending... And you sir have done just that! Keep them coming!

Looking great. I am continually inspired by the amount of work you get through on your layout. I am sometimes daunted by the amount of work I need to do on mine but your efforts keep me motivated. Big thanks!!

    Stephen,
The rock area is looking really good. The additional plantings made a big difference. The underpass is a nice addition too. Perhaps making the abutments out of foam and then painting will be the way to go. It looks like leaving it a little rough isn't a problem with the scars from over height vehicles around the entry. You may want to model a box truck with the front caved in. Put a couple of emergency vehicles with flashing lights and you have a scene. Keep up the good work.

Hello Mr. Bennett, I must say, I like the idea of that field and the dirt road very much. Please do it.

You're moving on with great work! Keep it up, and you will have a really good layout, like you don't already have one.

(from Canada) Your layout is looking very good, do what you think is good, I always say if people do not like what I have done that's too bad, it's my layout so I do as I please.

+Stephen Bennett Hopefully, you are in good health. I head a lot of wheezing in your voice. If you aren't an asthmatic, please see your doctor.
Apart from that, the "corner" is looking amazing. A possible option for the corner is to maybe round it over a little? It may look too weird, however. Your work is amazing, keep it up ;)

Your layout is just amazing, I can hardly wait from week to week to see what you have accomplished!

Rob, I have been binge watching your sons channel for the last three weeks and have accumulated several questions but first I must say that what you have accomplished is absolutely amazing and now with the scenery, wow!
I am also using 3rdPlanIt, did you ever go back to it once you started the build? I also plan on using FastTracks, is there any particular reason you did not use double crossovers? Why did you select the software you did over others? Have you ever considered letting the signals/block occupancy control the trains. i.e. stop on a when it should stop? A request, do a segment on the wiring explaining the function of the units not all the switches, diodes, terminal strips and miles of wire Just simple block diagrams. By the way I now have 10 PWRS cars and planning on more, for those N Gauge users, they are just as detailed as the HO.

Amazing eye for detail with obvious modelling talent and experience. I learn things from watching you. I can't remember seeing any more realistic scenery than you have produced. Well done sir. I can only dream of acquiring such skills as yours. Pardon me, but your breathing seemed a little wheezy on this video. I hope you are looking after yourself properly. We don't wnat you going sick on the job. What will we watch in those spare moments when we're looking to relax a little?...............David(UK)

+MrChoochoo Ugh- that is related to a medical condition I have from my deployment to Afghanistan. I have a lung condition from breathing the air. I was there over the cold months and the locals would burn anything- and I mean ANYTHING- to help stay warm. The smoke from this drifted right over our location, night after night...I come home and now have a chronic cough and a slight wheeze that flairs up from time to time. I have been checked out, but not much can be done. I just have to deal with it now.

Rob Bennett Sorry to hear that Rob. I had a friend once who had what they termed 'Industrial Asthma'. He breathed in a chemical known as Toluene Diisocyanate while working in a rubber factory and sustained TDI-induced respiratory disease. He lived with it, but it restricted his physical activities significantly as apparently it removed approximately two thirds of his lung capacity...........not a nice thing.............
