Imagine two of these "haunted places explorer groups" going to the same building at once and scaring the shit out of each other.

That'd be a pretty nice twist to a movie. 😉

@@atomstarfireproductions8695 Indeed!!!
I enjoy watching these videos, then reading the comments to see who's got a clue about what's actually going on at each facility. So here's a few things I noticed...
1) the hissing is pneumatic tubing ran to the thermostats (several ppl got this one), hospitals have gone away from this method as it's old technology and they use energy management controls now via low voltage cables (24v ac) so the end user has limited control at each station
2) the buzzing, which you pointed out, is coming from that transformer (probably several on each floor) which that one looks to be 150kva or so. Those are used to take the 277/480 volt used for lightning and hvac and stepping it down to 120/208 volt for general purpose receptacles.
3) they leave the power on at these places that haven't been slated for demo for several reasons. Most important is heat to keep water lines from bursting, common area lighting for safety, low voltage power (120v) to control things like that 48 port network switch in the closet (most likely for cc TV cameras), and for any pumps that might be running. No chilled water pumps would be operating, but your booster pumps and your boiler pumps (if equipped) will operate to again provide heat across hvac coils but only if equipped.
4) someone suggested that there was generator power supplying this building. This is FALSE for several reasons, mainly because there wouldn't be enough fuel (natural gas or diesel) in that town to operate that entire building and the generator would have to be the size of 10 semis end to end. To put this in perspective, the last one I installed was a Cummins onan diesel generator, it was the size of one semi, and it only controlled a data center at a hospital which was a room about 3-4000 sq ft. IT HAS AN 800 GALLON TANK that gets filled twice a year due to maintenance operation cycles that fire the generator every Friday at 5 for testing only. That building you're in is probably 100,000 sq ft or better. Most all hospitals are equipped with emergency generators (1 per wing in most cases) which only provide power to essential items. Most all plugs and switches powered by a generator will be red, they'll only operate on emergency power when the transfer switch is changed to emergency in the event of a power loss, and you would hear the generators running outside as they are super loud. ALSO, if there is a hallway with lets say 100 lights in it, only 1 out of every 4 or 5 would be lit up as it's just there to help you escape in case of emergency.
5) The signs you seen on the roof access aren't all that bad, they just mean that there are cell towers on top of the building because the building is tall and cell companies pay money to install towers on the top of higher buildings in city's because space for ground up cell sites are limited. It was just a warning label saying that there are slightly higher than average rf waves and continued exposure could lead to cancer, you would have been fine. So next time, please proceed. Sorry for the long rant, I only speak on things I know and just wanted to shine some light on a few things for inquiring minds. Take care.

It's surprisingly clean for an abandoned building.
Well with no human contact I'd imagine the interior to not have much altered,it's probably a bit dusty but we can't see on camera
it doesnt seem as old compared to the other places they've been to. but im not sure so idk.
oh yeah they said the last check was in 2014 so it makes sense
Plus its sounds like its well guarded and theres even a grounds keeper so not a lot of vandals get in which im sure slows decay
It's not that old and it's not abandoned. It's literally on a college campus. I went there tonight actually because I was eating dinner about 5 mins away. It's being used rn for filming.
Thermostats raised without dads to monitor them become territorial of their temperature range. They were probably just afraid that you'd adjust them, and started hissing to try and scare you off.

I noticed the roof access door signs. One of them said "This a Verizon Wireless antenna site." One of the reasons the building probably still has power is because Verizon is probably still using the cell site and their network equipment on the roof for 4G and LTE.

Those are pneumatic thermostats. They use small metal strips that bend with tempurature differences, which causes pressurized air in a tubing system to gain or lose pressure and the HVAC a/c system gets that information from there- whether to heat or cool. When the tubes go bad, they expel air constantly. That's where the hissing comes from.
I've wondered about those things for ages but never remembered to look it up... neat!
And the air is supplied from an air compressor system in a plant room somewhere.
And transformers hum because they dont know the words.
Thank you for the scientific explanation. I couldn't think why thermostats would possibly behave in such a way, but I knew for a fact someone in the comments had the answer.

Scott Prendergast In most states (I can’t confirm if it is all), patients have the right to refuse treatment. In my nursing home I have a resident who has refused to bathe for the past 3 years. Patients also have the right to fall. Here are two things that one would think would be allowed, but are not:
Side rails are ordered by the doctor, we cannot give patients them without it in long term care facilities. As i’ve stated earlier, patients have the right to fall, but we can place fall matt’s beside their bed, but they inhibit treatment (being so raised prevents lifts and other machines from moving). Physical Restraints, atleast in the state of North Carolina, are prohibited. Chemical restrains are ordered by the doctor.

The device at 12:42 is called the Gordon Diagnostic System. It was used primarily with children between the ages of 4 to 12 to assess for problems with attention, impulse control, and distractibility. It's basically an ADHD test machine. You rarely see these used anymore in psychiatric settings because they're so outdated and they're no longer manufactured. The TOVA is what's hot now.
The examiner controls the machine via a panel on the back. There happens to be a rather large red reset button on the back too, so there is a cover that can be locked with a key to stop extremely impulsive children from reaching for it.

At about 18 min, that vacuum pump is commonly used for draining wounds while replacing bandages. It is also used to suction out the back of people's throats if they have some sort of impairment with swallowing (usually stroke aftermath.) I once had to help hold a patient who had just had a stroke and who was also on blood thinners on their side while the nurse was sucking the blood from the back of their throat after they struck a bloody nose. What is a one way door? A door with no handle on the other side?
riley odo it may have 2 handles but only opens in one direction, not the other.
That is why some firefighters carry door chocks on their helmets, so if they are in a commercial or industrial building they can chock the doors to prevent being locked in.
The hissing thermostats are actually pneumatic thermostats that run with a network of tubing. Somewhere in that hospital is a room with a large air compressor that provides constant air to this system. The thermostats open and close VAV boxes or zone dampers so that you can cool different areas at different temperatures.

The whole building was the prison, it was pretty cool but when I looked into it and asked around apparently it's more common than I thought.

mental hospitals are not as scary as some people believe it to be. most Ward's were for people with autism or other mental problems. not legitimately crazy people. it scares people because it's like a hospital. but it is also unknown, everyone is afraid of the unknown. that's why we are afraid of things like abandoned places and things that could hurt us.
tl;dr people afraid of unknown
Hawke Powers well, in a way, it kinda is scary. you're being watched, constantly. you see people...that look...dead ish? but it's also fine. not that scary at all.
Aoba Seragaki I work in one they're not scary at all, the people also don't look dead'ish. People are watched because they have many problems, suicide thoughts, schizophrenia & obviously there's people that have to be kept away from others because they're unpredictable , other than that it's pretty much the same as medical hospitals :)

I find it way more creepier that the building still has running water, and working electric. Makes it really eerie.
my wife and i do this pretty often...i've noticed lots of girls are into creepy and abandoned places, though i'm not really sure why. my wife just loves creepy and scary places and that feeling of "life after people"...me, i just like the thrills.
forget ghosts...the big dangers are decayed floors and ceilings, rats and cats and raccoons, sharp metal junk, or twisting an ankle or injuring yourself by slipping on slick wet floors or tripping over something. always have an escape plan in case of emergency. i pushed a rusty door once and it swung back and smacked me in the forehead, ended up with 8 stitches. good thing i had my TDAP vaccine...
and of course we always bring our (legal) handgun along. your state and local laws may vary, but some crackheads and homeless people just aren't too friendly and welcoming of strangers...hopefully we'll never run into any of the bad ones, but you never know O.o lots of abandoned spots are also populated by gangs, so it helps to know something about local gangs and their tagging identities (graffiti), because you don't want to encounter those guys EVER.
and we've gotten busted a few times, but we're always friendly and agree to leave, and the cops never do anything about it. play it cool and it's all good. at worst you'll end up with a minor trespassing charge and get some community service. a small price to pay for thrillseeking.

have you and your wife ever...."done it" in an abandonded building? I feel like my girlfriend would be really into trying that, but not sure if I can convince her lmao
@@joeambly6807 that sounds like a great way to get all the heps
When this is the Hawkins lab from Stranger things
damn
how has no one commented this yet. I looked it up and it is!
Watching them talk about the film set was pretty funny
@@alexevenson8435 yeah
Exciting! Scary end... thanks for sharing, super!
Back at it again with another amazing fucking video! Good work boys!
+Tanner Sommer Thanks!
Ya'll should come take a trip to Wisconsin and come to my home town. There is this pretty big Abandoned ware house. It was used for making cribs and furniture. I've been in there plenty of times, but its a pretty scary place, but really fun to explore.
+Tanner Sommer Hell yeah; Wisconsin pride.
Fuck yeah! Where abouts are you from?
Fox Valley
who else was expecting dead people or live people running around screaming or something
Me lol
+Rosie The Wolf "Abandoned"
thats what they want you to think
No I was afraid of that to happen too
I know right
Little did they know - Right after they filmed, they restored it and filmed emmy winning tv series stranger things in it
Ian Coleman really
Fairy Princess no
No they didn't 🙄
Only the exterior and a very small (not renovated interior part) of this building is used for filming stranger things.
@@stickupkid4254 they actually did buddy
Great video guys. You have a new fan!
wow intense explore, especially the ending!. Knowing the electric was still on, I would think some type of security system would be active but guess that was not the case. Awesome job!
👌👍👍👍👍
+Abandoned Steve (Historical - Urbex) I would guess the security wouldn't be that sensitive internally, what with all the insane people running around.
Looks like a perfect building for a zombie movie or part of TWD. Nice video!
or supernatural episode
***** like?
oh my f****** god they found a CRT TV in that place!? abandoned?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!? I love CRT TVs and that site breaks my heart it's bad enough the hospital's abandon but knowing that there's a TV still in there to this day?!? grrrrrrrrrrrr!!
turokk1 yeah, the brain cells on the floor really sold the whole zombie thing.
turokk1 it probably was the hospital in two
it’s all like a dream, the fluorescent lights with the burnt lights and empty hallways make it like a dream, it’s comforting for some reason
2:02 “It smells abandoned”
Boi
Somebody has a hefty electrical bill then if nobody lives here.
I thought the exact same !
I think every adult was thinking this when watching it 😂
its a goverment owned bulding they use the taxpayer's money just so we can pay for there crap and irresponsible people at the eleteonic company who leave the place with power still on not to mention the water
Pay Taxes?😌
The government still pays for some abandon buildings
I can't wait to get home from work and watch this. I love this channel and look forward to every video. Keep up the great work guys.
the background music makes it way creepier than this video needed to be goddamn
The hospital was really clean I’m surprised
I think it is the new hospital but some reason were make is abandoned
“Try the door try the door try the door try the door try the door try the door”
“Your car is this way your car is this way your car is this way”
You were working with a hard headed crew that day 😆
You guys should try to get a 360 degrees camera for this stuff!
+k1ll3rM czcams.com/video/tTbvupdhy8k/video.html
The Proper People Oh sorry :P I forgot about that one
+k1ll3rM 360 vids quality are terrible
Magic Illusionist on youtube yeah but they can get pretty good
For 360 vids, if you turn the quality to the highest possible instead of auto, you'll get had quality. Try it out!
I would say that's only a sometimes abandon building. It's clearly still maintained, and I get the feeling sometimes used by the owner.
"try the door try the door try the door try the door"
me: " YOU TRY THE DOOR"
You need to Re-Visit this one. This one and Clinton Road.
You know where this one is??
@@joeyfoureyes98 Lmao
I love this channel. Really cool dudes, they go to some kickass spots and they dont use clickbait titles
Apoc 0 I agree
You fucking idiot!
I'd love to explore this place I'm with you guys 👍
