Great job! I’ve used Billy for the same thing since 2000. If you turn the left foot of your shoes inwards, you’ll be able to get an extra to 2 pairs more. Plus you’ll be able to see the heel type of your shoe. Just a little tip. But you don’t have to change anything because it looks great.

Great job! One of the few realistic solutions for storing dozens of pairs of shoes. Most CZcams videos show shoe racks for maybe a dozen pairs while most women in USA usually have 50-100+ pairs of shoes.

Cha-cha Morris, thank you for the great comment. This was not very hard to do and it's not too expensive either. You can do this. Just measure to be sure you can fit them in the place you want to put them.

I think it looks great 👍🏻 looks built in and stores so many shoes!!! Love it and it’s nice having the bench to sit on to put on/ take off shoes, the shower curtain is a great idea too as it keeps it looking tidy. Maybe some nice storage boxes on top of the Billy’s for little items like gloves scalves accessories etc.

Is your wife a centipede because I can't believe how many shoes she has! 😂😂😂😂 I've got an ikea shoe cabinet and I fit most of the shoes we use the most in it, then the rest are in boxes at the bottom of wardrobe.... I don't have as many as your family though.

Well here’s a hack for the hack, I bought a while book case just for extra shelves. I go 11 shelves for $49 vs $165 I used the 5 it came with the top and bottom piece, and cut the side pieces😌. Love it just needs a mirror!!

What I did to get them standing up straight is I built the frame of the first one, and left it. Then I built the frame of the second, and laid them both side to side on the floor butted up against the wall skirting boards. Then I shimmied them until the foot-ends of both shelves were level, THEN I started attaching the boards on the back and tacked them to the frames. So they were perfectly square when I stood them up, and had no gaps between them. Then I continued to use the same methodology of using the first one the I built as a guide to build the rest straight. What you've done looks good though.

@@KenPeriman Thanks Ken, mine are for a different purpose than shoes, I'm a movie collector. I'd upload something but my movie-library room is totally choc-a-block at the moment because I'm storing packs of laminate flooring and other stuff that's a work-in-progress until I can afford to have my decorator back to do it for me. I'm really disabled, so I'd probably cock-it-up or injure myself doing it. Eventually what I want it to be is 2-3 walls of shelved movies, one of which with a plasma or LCD T.V. on it, and a desk in the middle sort of, so I can watch my favourite football team Liverpool F.C., (I'm U.K.) while I talk to other subs and owners of a CZcams supporter channel that I watch. I hope it looks as good as I think it will when it's done. Ingenious idea you had to use the shelves for shoe storage though Ken, I would never have thought of that.

It came with them. But double-check as they are in the plastic wrap on the board.

Baily G, thank you for your question and I'm sorry it took so long to answer but it cost me $297 for all the items at Ikea. Plus maybe a dollar for the screws to lock them together.

Could or could have built or bought a corner shelf to make use of that corner you closed off. Lots of useable space there and a corner shelf may have been a cool display.
Sure, and totally agree, but during the making of this video, it was during the peak of the pandemic, and there were very few items to be purchased, and at the time, there were no corner units to be bought. Maybe an update would be to add that corner? I just may look into that.

I live in studio, and this video gave me the idea of shoes shelf, ty! I would do same :D! only my concern is how can I clean the bottom of shoes? I am afraid of if I use disinfectant wipe or liquid stuff, that could spoil the leather of shoes :( Great video! I go for Billy book case now, I wish Ikea reward you to make this video lol!! Wow, thank you for the kind words. When we get home we sometimes leave the shoes in the garage to dry up and then clean with a general cleaner. With the leather we are just super careful with the cleaning. Thank you again.
