Can we just acknowledge that this video editing is better than any interior show I ever saw on TV! Seriously next level!
I was literally thinking the same. No disrespect tv but like, you need to up your game a bit 😂
Can we acknowledge that this is a fantasy? A male picking up shoes and putting them away?? Now THAT is a serious next level!!!
Seriously, regardless of content, well done (and I also love your content).
No
I really like and appreciate the music and style of filming in this video. Great work! :) The tiny entrance way does speak for itself now. It looks excellent, ties the space together with the living area and kitchen.
I was trying something a little different with this video format. It's so nice to hear it's appreciated - thanks so much!
@@DanielTitchener it is a very pleasant form, I also did like it. I like that you haven't overcomplicated it.
@@DanielTitchener Really wonderful job with the music AND the awesome entry redesign. No demo/construction needed! amazing.
@@DanielTitchenerlove the editing and the format of this video. Excellent, engaging and enjoyable. Well done, Daniel.

I also like this experimental format. It’s not the same generic monotone vibe as other creators. It has a little comedic infomercial and upbeat music which is more energizing and exciting.
Why did you put it there instead of on the left hand side when people walk in with more hooks above it?
Start of video - shows little nook area.. maybe around 17cm deep? Later in video buys shallow shoe rack. And doesn’t put it in the nook. Really thought you were going to put it there.
I loved the new style of the video!! And I'm impressed by the upgrade to!! Nice way to create a functional and aesthetic focal point for the entry way. 10/10!!
I love the wood thing you added to the shoe compartment; it gives accent to the area and looks less plain. I initially thought it's ready-made from Ikea.
This editing is amazing! And I felt so soothed by the fact that we all face the same problems with our entryways and family clutter 😅
The simplicity and practicality here is definitely worth a try. Amqzing work as always Daniel. Can’t wait to see what else you build with that new beast of a machine
This piece with a mirror was a lifesaver for my hallway aswell!
An elegant solution! Pro tip for IKEA bags of little parts: take the time at the start to sort them all carefully by size and type on a fluffy towel (prevents rolling around). That way, when you need a part or widget, you can find it easily. This step can save much time and avoid frustration.
Intro is fantastic, would love to see this in future.
Thanks so much 😃
This is the most unnecessarily overproduced video that shows off IKEA furniture.... And I enjoyed watching it lol
Honestly my first thought was to place the shoe rack at the nook in the entryway instead so it sits flush with the walls and provides a place for you to grab you keys before heading out the door. 😂
I had the same thought, but I like this as well, I think that it creates interest to that blank wall, and he probably needs the nook area for bulky winter jackets and bags,I know that ours take up a lot of space 🙄
Daniel, I LOVED the way you filmed this, it incorporated a vlog style and man, you made the BUILD process something very fun to watch!!
It's appreciated that you are using your own living space for this endeavour, which makes it more "real".
Ai brought me here. I have the same Stall shoe cabinet that I waited for so long before IKEA Coq had it available again, peri-pandemic 2020 to July 2023. As soon as I got the notification that it was available, I snatched 2 right again. It IS really a space-saver. I am not using it for shoes, but I am using one as console in my tiny dining area and the another 1 in the entryway for knick knacks.
I love seeing videos related to your home! I hope Vancouver is treating you well
My entry is surprisingly similar to yours, except with an entrance to the kitchen just to camera right of your front door. I've never been sure what to do with the space. This video was great inspiration, thanks!
Simple, not expensive and truly transformed the space. Always such great tips, thank you Daniel!
REALLY love this video's style! The raw clips and being in on the action is very nice to watch
I would have put it in the niche in the wall. So it would occupy less space. You could also stack one above the other to have even more storage.
Love the editing style in this! So much more fun than simply filming what you do 😊
Do you have a version of this for rental apartments (no drilling)?
I really like this format! So personal - I can easily relate to that :) Thank you for this video, helped me decide to finally get a shoe cabinet for my narrow hallway.
Great video as always, Daniel! 👍🏽 10/10 addition/upgrade. 👌🏽 Aesthetically pleasing!
Haha I JUST got the same shoe cabinet myself for my narrow entryway too! I am also a transplant living in Vancouver in a small rental apartment. Love your videos Daniel, been getting inspired by your approach - thanks for sharing your knowledge here.
I was toying with this product for my narrow hallway. I see it could really work. Thanks! And, great customization 😉
Amazing job! Love the final result
The entry way is where a flourishing relationship can begin or end. Ok maybe not. It certainly impacts my experience in a home, ensuring people feel welcomed, comfortable and happy to come back again. This was some beautiful work. Well done. I could use some help with my place 👀
in OUR Vancouver area condo, we had a longer - in fact an incredibly long, tunnel-like - entry with closets, bathroom, and laundry buried in one wall and an initially depressing featureless other wall - we did something similar to you, aka an IKEA solution :) - a long, low bookcase/open shoe storage thing with minimal depth for the corridor - stacked two of them to make a floor-level cubby for aaaall the shoes, three shelves of paperback storage above that, and then a long, skinny acre of top shelf for key dishes and bag set-down close to the door and then display space for the rest of the length which complemented the long "art" gallery for framed stuff on the walls above (we were NOT minimalists) Boom - architectural feature, not a bug!
Loved the editing! Loved the personalised piece too!
Loved this one! Brilliant build montage
ok, but how does it look from the front, when you enter the apartment
I honestly thought you'd put it in the nook right after the entryway, and put a nice piece of art in front of the door, so its the first thing you see when you enter
Literally just finished a project like this in the entryway of my house! Hehethe shoes at the entrance drive me MAD!😵💫
This man give me the strength and confidence that I can do it myself. Thank you for not being a gatekeeper and being a down to earth young chap.
The way your videos have been progressing and your channel in general is very inspiring.
Video content and quality really top notch. Thanks for posting !
Looks very practical.
I really like this entryway design. Just excellent!
I really like this "vlog" style of videos. Keep them coming!
Love the new style! More informal and dynamic!
So well edited! Great video. I love Not Just Bikes!!
Your video editing is splendid. I can say a lot of improvement compared to your first few videos. Awesome!
I love it and hope it's fine for you if I borrow your idea for my home 😄
Thx for the great content and inspirations, I learned a lot from you and am very thankful for that!
So beautiful!
Love this chennel, Daniel always knows what he's talking about and has really great taste imo
beautiful mate, this is wonderful
Glad to see we both enjoy the same kind of channels.
The entry way looks amazing btw, especially the Concrete stool.
I like the new style. Well done!
Absolutely brilliant, as usual!
That IKEA shoe storage is the bomb...plus you can use hacks to upgrade it
You are legit my fave channel rn ❤️❤️
Really nice and simple, feeling inspired!
Awesome makeover, and really cool shoe rack! Also NJB mention, woo!
The "notch" is the perfect place for that cabinet 😭😭
If it fit 😢
That’s what I was thinking too! It’s a fantastic opportunity for something.

I noticed your cinematography has improved alot! Keep it up❤
Thank you for sharing.
Love, blessings to you and yours good man!
I’m quite addicted to this channel! Good information, pleasant voice, appealing movie and pleasing video.
Had the same problem, did the exact same thing you did hahaha love Ikea!
Love this “day in the life of” format 🙌
Wow, so impressive!
This is absolutely brilliant! 👏
How did you make the handles??
My entryway looks a lot like yours and I'll shamelessly just gonna copy everything you did! 🤣
Also, this video was a joy to watch, more of this please!
The handles look like they have a vertical base that screws on the inside of the cabinet door and only the part you grasp sticks out. Hope that helps you find the hardware you're looking for. I don't think they were custom built.
Amazing work!🎉
Love the Rodeby hack, really removes that neutral look from the shoe cabinet :)
Where do you get the wooden strip from to place on the cupboard please?
Getting some serious Matt D'Avella vibes. Great video
Great video!
Not just for guests but every time you come home. Nice.
Love the edditing !!
daniel is amazing. he is architect, designer, and carpenter all at once
the slow-mo cinematics! nice one!
Having a mirror facing the door is bad feng shui, they should instead be placed perpendicular to the door. Was thinking the whole time with the way you have a "niche" on the right side when facing the door that that space could have nicely been filled with that cabinet and mirror, while a larger rug covering the area from the door to the cabinet would have provided a nice spot to take off your shoes while also seperating the entryway from the rest of the apartment :)
Can you help me with some tips for my home? Thanks
Love it!
Love this!! And it’s short !!
lol i love how you are looking at the shoes on the floor but I'm looking at the pile of boxes
I love it!
Great video
sometimes, little things make a big difference! ❤️
I have another version of this ikea piece. It has 2 drawers in top (I keep a compact umbrella and gloves there) but I'll try to remove the legs as well - they are constantly in the way.
Hahaha the way he said leave and had a shot of the dried leaves, I see what you're doing hahahaha love your content and it's helped me tremendously!!
Loved the format for this video! The editing before the final reveal was perfect. The real question, though. Where is that saw going to go now? XD Or did you rent it?
For a minimalist, you have many pairs of shoes! 😂 just kidding. Love your educational videos.
😂
Your work is ALWAYS BRILLIANT :) xoxox
I love the matte black accents!
Love your videos!
That intro was perfect, that relatability caught my attention for the rest of the video.
titch, it’s LA TOULETTE and this is the canoeist video you made so far!
but, as always, the end result is worth it!
First, thanks for the great video and inspiration. I have a question about the bamboo armrest you used to cover the front of each drawer. As per the measurements on the Ikea website, one will fit horizontally on each drawer. I just need to remove a few slats to make them fit. Are the slats long enough to fit vertically?
Brilliant to have it floating! You can easily mop under it.
I have a small entryway like this in my home. I was getting by with a small table, that is actually a table with a magazine rack underneath, that I placed a stiff piece of cardboard over so my sneakers could sit on the shelf-like space made by the cardboard. It also allows me to place my folded up cane next to my sneakers. I am legally blind, but do retain some light perception tho even that is complicated. I have a combination of problems created by an optic nerve defect that I was born with & a retinal disease that became more pronounced to the point it couldn’t be hidden anymore about 30+yrs ago when I had to stop driving. Over the years, it got to where I couldn’t see anything but shades, shapes, & colors beyond a few inches from my eyes; peripheral vision loss was also an issue. In my home, I tend to do well bc everyone knows not to move anything without telling me first. Problems began to worsen after my birth mother & her youngest daughter came to stay a bit after their home burned down (it’s really becoming a problem since there doesn’t seem to be any thought to finding their own place. My niece & aunt, birth mother’s sister was the woman I thought of as Mom. She passed away some 20-23yrs ago. Birth mother’s daughter calls my husband & me, aunt & uncle) Shoes have been thrown down in my already small entryway & it’s getting to the point I’m tripping over them. Screaming into pillows is getting old, not to mention the fact that I have multiple autoimmune diseases & brittle bones, so falling is the last thing I need in my life, followed nearby with stress.
I can’t put my own shoes on without sitting down first. Unlike my husband, I can’t slip my sneakers on or off. I’d like to find a place for their shoes that would be better; hwr, I just don’t have the space. They’ve taken over my living room & I don’t allow outside shoes beyond the entryway. It’s difficult enough to keep light colored carpet clean. And I know, I don’t like carpet either but with hubby & I both on disability, there’s not enough left for plank laminate floors.
The entryway closet was turned into a pantry bc I needed room plus shelves to better centralize pantry food items. It’s not available for the many shoes that keep ending up in my entryway area, esp my niece’s bc she can’t seem to stop buying the damn things. I have 1 pair of shoes for outdoors, with the exception of a pair of crocs I wear when I need to pop outside when taking our geriatric dog out on potty breaks. The Crocs fit neatly under the table with magazine rack; hubby’s sneakers go on the outer door side of the table & daughter’s on the other. Our youngest still is at home & she helps us as much as possible, including reading the mail to me, as it’s faster & easier than trying to do the same thing with special software. And, she helps with other things too.
Ideas appreciated. I’d like to find a place for dog leashes but can’t find one I like.
Any ideas?
Daniel back in his element designing ❤
So good. I love that mirror. Which one is it?
Love love love❤
If you will need more space in closet, can you also built a cabinet for the recycle bins? Opened same way as the shoes cabinet?
Do you like The hemnes cabines shoes? I’m thinkig in get that one for my small apartament… amazing job you did with that cabinet shoes! And mirror is from ikea? Thanks
Oh dear, Daniel, you’re going to have to find a space for that mitre saw now….😬 Great improvement to the entryway. Love the way you think and the editing of your videos. 🙏🏼
Great!
Which glue did you use for the bamboo slats?
Nebula. Seems easy! Will check it out. Nice work too by the way 👌
