I FINALLY have my new shoe wall finished. This was SO easy to do and turned out so so well...so I figured I'd share a very quick video with all the details. If you also have a small space to work with (but lots of shoes lol) - this could definitely be your solution too. Hope you enjoy & let me know in the comments in you like it. Erika x

You should put the extra shelf on the top. It’ll make the ceilings look taller! Love the look!
I don't have NEARLY as many shoes as you do, but I have been straight. up. AGONIZING. about how to store them (our closet is small) in an aesthetically pleasing way that wouldn't hinder access to the clothes in the closet. This will actually empty about 1/4 of our closet space AND give me a kind of "art piece" of shoes to display on a bit of wall that's been empty since we moved in! Thanks so much! Lifesaver!

second: i think like u said: top maybe 2 shelves put purses, middle one out flowers and cute stuff like pictures and candles, and bottom ones ur shoes
u also have a lot of shoes so maybe display the ones for the season? I just find seeing shoes up there esp dark boots not esthetically pleasing

How many shoes are there with the amount of shelves you have?
The downside is the width is 26 cm. It's a bit too small to hold the shoes. Normal size of shoes rack is 35 cm in width.

This is the exact Idea I had in my old place with the IKEA shelves, It just allows your room to be neat and also have a shoe store vibe. This time round I have a cupboard with shelves already built in for my shoes 😃

I suppose it depends on the size of your shoes. I take size euro 39 and I have to turn them a bit sideways as I have doors on my bbc
I have the very small lack shelves in a corner with my most ornate shoes and perfume collection. IKEA is so affordable and looks really good. I agree that the wideness makes them look so much more expensive
You should add an extra shelf on the bottom but also one on top, it’ll make the wall look much higher therefore the ceilings as well

This looks great. I was hoping to see the shelves put up to see if it’s something I could do or not. You could put another shelf on the bottom and put your flats there and it wouldn’t even necessarily have to be a foot down from the bottom shelf. Can’t wait to see your bags.

Hi Erika! I've recently moved to Toronto and I am in the process of doing up my apartment here too! I was actually looking at the Lack shelves myself in Ikea. I wanted to put one over my couch in the living room area! But wasn't sure about hanging them as the walls here are quite thin!! How do they go up? What are the fixtures? My walls here are dry wall!

Erica, have you considered doing what you did with the IKEA Malmo chest? You trimmed it with gold tape. I think it would really make it look like a showpiece.
The shelving looks really nice. How are you going to store your longer boots. Tee Hee I like to keep my shoes in boxes but this got me thinking. The only hold up is that I store off season shoes in a huge box and keeping them in their original box protect the shoes. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the coming days.
So right now my Winter Boots are packed away - so will have to figure something out in October!

Love love love this video! Maybe, don't t put a shelf on the bottom and just put a rail to hang your boots on. Then add a shelf at the top for your bags...
I am a size 10US 8UK. do you think my shoes will fit on these shelves or they would be too big. i like the idea of the shelves, just not sure if it will look as pretty as yours. thanks

I made the same shoe racks with LACK half a year ago. It horribly collected dust! I would spend 15 minutes cleaning the whole thing. Too much fuss for me.
Idk if you mentioned this in your (bc I was watching this at 4am with the volume really low), but how many shoes can you fit per shelf?
Around 10 pairs fit on each shelf :)

ishe vee They come with the wall bracket but NO SCREWS. I put mine up with 10 screws + wall anchors in each one (because no stud where I needed it). Got the screws from Home Depot

Great idea Erica! Questions though, do having that much shoes in your bedroom feel dirty or are there any steps you do after usage before putting them in your bedroom. second, do they get super dusty on the shelves and how long before you have to dust them regularly? Always love your vid
No it's actually perfect! I just make sure to dust everything once/twice a week and always clean shoes before I put them back on. These particular shelves are so so tidy so note overwhelming at all. x
I do not have that much (lovely) shoes to show it this way 😏
