My cousin's grandmother is buried next to Rick James. My cousin said he had a "fan" moment at his grandmother's burial when he looked over and saw Rick James headstone.

I was born & raised in upstate NY (now live in FL) & had no idea Rick James was buried in Buffalo! RIP to a music legend!!

Rick James was from Orchard Pstk NY, home of the Buffalo bills stadium which is about 15min or so from the cemetary. Lots of historical stuff in this cemetary, love wandering around it.

You knew you were to have a GREAT time at a Rick James concert. The smell of reefer was always in the air. Everybody was high. And Rick loves it. Rest in Heaven Rick. I truly loved your concerts.

People now days don't understand way it was in 70's & 80's. In 82 friends told me pay attention @ saftey meeting this next coming Monday morning. Here about 70 some of us all Heavy Equipment operators or support personnel standing there. At least 80+% had "ring around nosey" I look main boss He had it too..I lucky I more beer drinker type stay camping in woods weekends. Judges lawyers Dr's about everybody did it. I bet them TV Preachers was heavy users. Remember them. Had friends lost business families all over that junk. We never had big accidents good crew operators we had few wonderful bosses ones was bad was terrible they ones cause any minor accidents.
I remember wearing a mop on my head and playing with a broomstick back in the day. Went to a Funk Fest in Houston and Rick pointed directly at me as if he knew he was my idol. Much love and may you R.I.P. SUPER FREAK!

I never forget when he show up on the bet awards in 2004 and he was talking about a girl in the back and said “nevermind who you thought I was …I’m Rick James , Bitch” . That goes down in history of bet awards 😂😂 . Then when he died in august the same year, every station on tv played that one part of the show .
I saw him for the 1st time, I was 16 and working at a radio station part time. I swear I fell in love with him at first sight.

Ahhhhhh……welcome to my city!!!!!!! I would have loved to meet you while you are here!!!!! My mom knew him personally and grew up with him. We have old pictures of him before he was famous!!!! My grandmother knew his grandmother!!!!
The funeral was as St John Baptist church. Tina Marie was present.
I was in school at the time and my school was literally across the parking lot of the church and it was cars and security everywhere!!!!

I was visiting my dad at work which was in Burbank and diagonal to the apartment complex where Rick James lived. As I pulled out to go back to my job, I saw a ton of news helicopters hovering over the complex. I called my dad and said another celebrity must have died. That complex housed a lot of celebrities as it was right across from a major studio and that complex was where Cory Heim died as well. I got back to my job and turned on the local news and it was Rick James that had all of the helicopters hovering.
The ending was EPIC!!! Omg I DIED that night this awards show aired. I was so dead just as I am right now😂😂😂 RIP Rick James!!❤️

When James fled to Toronto, Canada to evade the draft. He should have stayed and got "pardoned" by jimmy carter and not have a criminal-record or spent time in the brig.
Saw Rick James in concert 3 times between 1979 & 1981. He was a true showman. Teena Marie was at 2 of those performances, she was fabulous.
I had a life size cardoard cutout of Rick James and one night while my mom was having a dinner party, i brought it out, thinking it would be funny. Little did I know my mother's friend's daughter was Kelly Misener and she said James put coke in a talcum powder container and put it in grandma 's luggage and he was a nightmare. Mom's friend looked horrified when she saw the cutout.
