If her clothing is in storage. Then LE needs to examine it for DNA.
Her mother is buried in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where she died 12/29/1999 at age 83.
I've been to Mountain Home Arkansas . Nice place !
It's sad that the family never had any kind of closure.. RIP, Marlene🕊️
Yes I agree,so sad,RIP, Marlene
Marlene Padfield.
Marlene seemed like a free spirit, like myself. Funny, we have similar names. So sad she died so tragically and young. He did something to that girl. Dropping her off at a ballroom at 1 am is a crock of bs.🙄
todays legal system needs an enema a return to those old values that put fear into those thinking about taking a life! back the death row lasted long enough to build a gallows or set up an electric chair/firing squad line up, today oh they put a person on death row and maybe in 20 years of living off of societies tax dollars that person either is executed or walks free.
I completely agree!!! I’m sure it’s another case of her not wanting to have sex with him so he killed her.
I wonder if Marlenes dad died from a broken heart.
Another innocent girl murdered 65 years ago! Happened since beginning of time, continues till infinity! The world is full of demons.❤😢
I so enjoy walking the cemeteries with you. Thank you for taking us along.
Its the best feeling ever!! Love hanging out with Lamont🥰🥰🥰🥰
I really enjoy watching his videos. I watch it everyday & night. Keep up with the great work & keep it coming. Thank you.🥰☝️💙🩵💚
What beautiful eyes he has... Very sad story, a young girl with moxie & born way-too-early👍
@flowerpot2501 😌yep, quite the hunk👍
People are to trusting. Killers don't have stamps on them telling the world what they are. I'm sorry for this girls death. ~~~Thanks Lamont~~~~Sherry~
💐💐RIP Marlene Ruth “Mickey” Padfield (28 Oct 1941-19 Feb 1959) (aged 17) and Hammond Hervey Padfield (19 Jun 1907-16 May 1961) (aged 53) you will truly both be missed and my prayers go out to you both and your family. 💐💐
😢😢😢😢😢🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you for this information!
So sad very sad a young girl 17 , a life never lived. My prayers that you are RIP Marlene 🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
Thank you Lamont , you bring back these life’s that were thrown away , a life never lived what a horrible loss, so bad that her father died 2 years after Marlene’s death. May they both be RIP🌺thank you Lamont you have my upmost respect in what you do.
Damn I just LOVE how Lamont tells his stories ! There’s just no-one that does his style anywhere near as good !
Lamont is a brilliant storyteller who speaks concisely with compassion, care, and dignity for the forgotten, the dead. The stories are heartbreaking and some have tragic and disturbing details. There’s many variations in the types of people’s history, and the stories of people’s lives who died from extenuating circumstances that were in many cases murdered, tortured, sexually assaulted, and killed under mysterious circumstances and some family members never got closure, and some who never got justice. Some murderers were let go because of circumstantial evidence and not found guilty or released from prison early. Some murders were unsolved; became cold cases.
I agree he's very skilled!
@@lovecats_10-23concisely my @$$. But he does give lots of details, and he's nice to look at. ;)
Poor Marlene, so sad the way she died. We never know what kind of people are living around us .
Thank you Lamont for telling her story, hopefully someone will come forward with some helpful information in solving this case .
If they have her clothes, DNA would be the only way to know if she was murdered. Otherwise, without DNA, the truth can never be known. What a tragic and sad ending 😢
I think that it sucks that the Family never got closure or Justice for their Daughter.
The parents probably lacked the resources to go after the perp.
The way you talk about these people, its like your bringing them back to life for a moment 😢❤ thank you Lamonte.

You are a great story teller. Thank you.

I think that you are very intelligent Lamont remembering all that information on the stories that you do is not a easy task that is why i don't get tired 😴 of listening to you
Poor girl, all she wanted to do was live out her dreams,
I hope she's haunting whoever killed her!
I am 69 yrs old …you just made me remember my moms bank had a elevator operator . Always men in uniform . I remember the whispers when the First Lady operator came on board 😊
This one gutted me as I was so much like Marlene, in so many ways. At 50 I grew up in the time just before internet, raised by my grandparents, so I have a pretty good idea of what her world was like. Putting myself in that car, I can see one of two things happening:
Either A. (most likely) Arthur was lying and the situation got out of control because he hadn't suspected Marlene was a fighter, and his well-off parents covered it up for him. The 'respectable' pissing on the 'expendable' is usually the Occam's Razor explanation.
OR B. (less likely but still possible) Arthur was telling the truth but either no one would give her a ride home from the dance hall -- or she was too embarrassed to ask, seeing these people as her future peers. She could have died pretty quickly of exposure especially if she wasn't used to the alcohol no one mentions she was drinking.
I played a lot of cards in my youth. There was alcohol, every single time.
However no one claimed to have seen her at the dance hall. If she was *ever* there, it's possible that one person did see her -- the wrong person. She was a young girl, possibly intoxicated and in some dire need of assistance at what amounts to a bar.
Perhaps a staff member clearing out the trash saw her. "I'll give you a ride. You can wait back here until I close the bar." And then she was later left in the snow.
Your ideas ring true. Those were the days where if a girl was in trouble and a guy was at fault, all his friends would stick up for him. Money changes everything.
There are a lot of flowers 💐 in that cemetery which is nice to see. Lamont ❤.
Rest in heavenly peace Marlene
Lamont, would you consider making a video sharing more about yourself with us? Like how your childhood was? Your relationship with your family? It's crazy Marlene just was taken away and Arthur just got away with it. I wonder what his mother was thinking protecting him like that.
Agree
I agree.. I love Lamont. I could set up a Go-Fund me so he could get a really COOL van with all the cool stuff for his comfort. He really goes the extra mile for us...
WOW! I feel like her killer got away with it, I don't think it will be solved.😏😪
Marlene disappeared in February, was found in April. At temperatures described in the video, I wouldn't think her remains would have been skeletonized that quickly unless scavenged by animals in which case her bones would be scattered. Do we know if her entire remains were collected?
It's amazing how you seem to be able to look into these people lives
"peoples" lives....
😉
@@judedonnelly4100"people's" lives 😉
@@JackieLynn-ww5pyactually it's peoples' since it's multiple people
Thank-you Lamont for everything you do to share these forgotten people and what happened to them!❤
I thoroughly enjoy walking through cemeteries myself here in Rhode Island. Mostly historical cemeteries. Enough to turn in into "check points" when riding my motorcycle. I'll clean the trash any chance i get and clear headstones so the deceased names are visible. I'm always finding new sites.
It's sad how some are just a layer of leaves away from being forgotten
Did they ever fix that one up in Providence or right outside Providence? Its in that big park in the city. Lamont has a video of how run down it was
Edit: I looked it up, Oakland cemetery on the other side of the pond in Roger Williams park. It's a shame it looks like it was beautiful at one point. We had a run down cemetery like that(not quite as bad) up in Manchester NH, but they redid it in the last few years.
It's sad that they never caught the killer. R.I.P Marlene and too the family. Thank you Lamont
If you're in Iowa you could cover the unsolved murder of Melissa Gregory and Steven Fisher from Newton. Keep up the great videos.
Or Jake Wilson from La Porte city Iowa or the girls from evansdale Iowa towns not to far apart .......sad
It was TOO EASY back then to just take on a new identity, a new name, move to a new city,...New town and become someone else...Maybe THAT is one of the darker reasons why some people called it "The Good old days"....Dark minds got away with nefarious deeds!....R.I.P Marlene...I pray the killer is STILL alive and confesses on his Deathbed....
Sad story hope she didn’t freeze to death! 😞
My cousin Ruth Anne an her daughter is barried there, they were murdered by her ex-husband an the daughters father, he died in prison with a little help!
Really? John Harvey is the last person to see her alive and the guy who drove her to her home and he changes his account of the events and is not charged for her murder? First of all, if anyone who was with someone who went missing and then found murdered and then their story changes is definitely guilty. It's not that hard to see what truly happend to her. I doubt she took harvey to the side and asked him to take her home after dropping off the boyfriend, after that then told harvey to take her to meet up with this other man and then she just has him take her to another club / dance club. He probably had after dropping off her boyfriend, either stop and parked on the side of the road or some rest stop and tried asking to have sex with her, she said no and probably that he was a creep and that she was going to inform her parents / the police or his father who owned the store, he became enraged and most likely sexually assaulted her and then probably strangled her to death.
Ok so the cops never got a warrant to search the car Arthur was driving? My opinion, Arthur’s daddy had some pull back in the day, maybe with the chief of police, mayor, or whatever authority and this case was buried.
It’s always unfortunate to hear about unsolved murders. Especially in the state I live in. RIP Marlene.
Hi Lamont, my aunt was an elevator operator at Goldblats Department Store. All us kids would go to the store and ride up & down on the elevator. I remember her uniform, she also wore white gloves & the elevator had like a gate door & then the actual elevator door she would also pull open. Unlike todays elevators, it was so different back then.
Wow! U were close to where I live! I never heard of this story. Just Wow! BTW...Michelle Martinko is buried at Cedar Memorial (look her up/unsolved for years till DNA resulted in an arrest & conviction a few years back). Famous case here. God bless u on ur journeys!!
So glad there was justice for Michelle.
The way he said 'Old Highway 30' just like a local, am I right?
The little gnarly trees growing in that cemetery are so cool. I wonder what they are? I lived in Minnesota for a long time and if you were driving and saw any person on the road at night in sub-zeros you stopped to offer a ride… it was an unwritten rule. Those temperatures are deadly
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
@@phaedrapage4217 you are correct.
I think its called a Yew tree and its been specially pruned and pleached to take that miniature form...
It is so sad that her killer got away with murder. Her parents never had the answers to questions they had. Thank you for telling her story.
By the way, I also was about 4 or 5 years old when I saw an elevator operator. It was at a store called The Palace in Monroe, Louisiana. We are telling our age, but that’s okay!😂
A beautiful young girl, she had her whole life ahead of her. Her poor parents. I guess back then they let their young daughters loose??!! Sad story.
I know my grandparents would have never let my mother, aunts and uncles do that. Nope. No way.
The social conventions were actually stricter in those days. Marlene was a bit of a rebel.
Nope didn’t they allow small children outside unsupervised? Past generations were allowed to do that. However she was 17 so she wasn’t a little girl; also past generations could afford to be on their own
@@oooh19 The smalls were supervised by the older kids. Standards of behavior were, in general, taught from the cradle onward, and reinforced in the community
also she was 17 and had her own place. most 17 year olds cannot afford it now. also yea standards of behavior should be taught early but many adults sadly dont know it and it can be frustrating dealing w/them.@@bvillebikelady3651
How can I body decompose in 10 weeks? Especially in cold temperatures.
Rest In Peace Marlene hopefully the family gets closure at some point
Great video Lamont. As you were telling the story I was picturing it in my mind-the house where she rented the room, the ballroom/dance hall where she supposedly was dropped off….everything. It’s possible that they fought, she passed out and with it being so cold that night, she died of exposure. In any case, Arthur would still be responsible for her death. RIP
Poor Marlene she had her life cut short while she was pursuing her dreams as an actress
The mother and siblings left town and nobody knows why or where they went. The Find A Grave info is very interesting.
Rip. I dont know how her parents let them get away with it.
i played cards all my life , all my family did ,, i still do
Ah, lying about your age is a time-honored tradition for actors.
I have relatives in this area--my dad grew up in Cedar Rapids and I have relatives in the small towns near Lisbon--and I think I read about this first on Iowa Unsolved Murders. This one stuck in my mind partly because of the time and geographic closeness (she would have been a couple of years older than my oldest uncle) and because she seemed so lost.
Some Internet searching says that an Ethel Padfield Walker, predeceased by husband Hammond and daughter Marlene, died in Arkansas in December 1998. It doesn't say where she's buried, though.
I grew up in iowa and am very familiar with the cold weather. Appears to me that she had ADHD or something along those lines. She made the poor decision to walk home and in attempting to do that, became hypothermic. As is typical in these cases, she stripped off her warm clothes and continued on until she died. She was not murdered. Authorities of the time did not have the information necessary to understand what happened.
A woman in Boston died in a similar way last winter trying to walk home from a club in subzero weather.
Wow what a story. That’s sad they never figured out who did this! Love your videos full of history, details, and done with respect!
GOD knows who killed her! After the iller dies, The Exit interview, GOD will tell him he's going right to HELL for killing her....
That light is shining bright in that cemetery
RIP. Whoever did it would have to be accountable before God.
It’s so additionally sad that there’s never been any justice for her and her family, here on earth. There’s a really beautiful song called _Marlene_ by Todd Rundgren in my mind watching this, the poor restless, budding, independent, free-spirted girl💔🕊️
*RIP MARLENE.*
So horrible and sad that Marlene Pathfield was murdered.Who ever done it won't get away with it with God.May Marlene Pathfield,RIP💐🙏

I'm sure who ever did it has stepped into judgement, then again, the murder could still be alive! and the day will come when that person will stand in judgement! back the death row lasted long enough to build a gallows or set up an electric chair/firing squad line up. today's justice system needs an enema a return to those old values that put fear into those thinking about taking a life!

The guy probably did drop her off and the dance hall and she started walking home and froze to death !
Thanks again Lamont for a great story. I wonder how many other women this maniac killed and got away with it.
Yes. They all played cards back then. LoL

Rest in peace, Marlene and Hammond. 🙏 🙏
I am watching from Papua New Guinea and as a father I was moved by the clip. We all father's could not bear to hear sad narrative of such disappearance of one of our siblings like the one narrated in this clip. I am sorry for her parents on their daughters disappearance and murder. RIP Marlene.
she is old as my sister 82 thank you for calling as it is murder
She will always be 17 R.I.P. Marlene.😢
Someone knows the answer and after all this time…he’s probably met the one that does. You WILL always answer to your secrets. I would rather answer here and straighten things out with God than to hold it to the end….and then have to answer. Thanks Lamont for another great video but a sad and tragic story. Your the best at this! You give real respect for those gone before us. Be safe out there and God bless
Yes RIP to her very sad story. And it does not matter when it happened it is important to open her case again.😢😮
Unfortunately she may have froze to death.
I hope someone gives someone the right information. She deserves peace.
The cops should of talked to the theater group people to see if they know something. I think they did this on a CRIME Show... So Sad.
Rest easy, sweet girl. ❤
I'm sure there were a lot of murders that happened back then that went unsolved, they didn't have the technology or resouces we have today! I have to wonder if maybe they didn't get into some kind of argument, and she got out of the car and wondered away becoming confused by hypothermia and passed out eventually freezing to death, whatever happened it's sad that her parents never got the closure they needed.
RIP 🪦 🕊️
At least they found her body to give her a resting place. Some people don't even get THAT. :-(
Kind of the same situation with the Marilyn Sheppard case from bay village - can't forget little Amy mahalovic (not sure on the spelling of her last name)
Both are heartbreaking deaths that are still unsolved.
Yeah - i didn't do well on the spelling
Marilyn Sheppard yes Ohio case IAM from Northeast Ohio
Maybe her mama is buried there and may have no relatives to buy a marker for her.
Why would the second guy lie initially. That doesnt make sense.
What a lovely well kept cemetery so many graves have flowers
R.I.P Marlene Padfield
Why would the guy she met at the restaurant change his story and then lawyer up?
Thank you for doing this! I can’t imagine her parents pain and lord knows what she went through!
May she rest in peace and justice is served soon .thank you for sharing
When I check findagrave it shows no information for the mother.....just her dad's name. Shows nothing on her site either. Just her dad. Article on her site shows they don't know where the mother went nor her siblings. Interesting. I found on same site arthur charles scott jr died in 2021. He had a son arthur charles scott the third who passed away in 2017.
Looks like karma found him in the end. He lost his son and felt that empty void just like her family felt.
We know Arthur's the one that killed Marlene. He probably tried to have sex with her. She refused and choked her out and killed her
Such a sad story😢
I moved out of Cedarrapids. My son was murdered . It use to be a awesome place to live . It is a shit hole now. Drugs. Murders and corrupt cop's. Not to mention businesses are constantly closing there doors. My child and gma and friend are buried there in Cedar murmorial cemetery off of first Ave. Very expensive to bury a person there.
This is so very sad. 😢 You are so respectful Lamont.
Man, you are a wonderful person. You're eyes say so much.
Thank you for sharing another person's life, taken too soon.
As soon as I understood the game I played cards with my whole family and extended family. We played a game called euchre pronounced uker. It still Is a big game in Michigan and Canada all the bars have tournaments. So it’s not that unusual.
How sad for her family 😔
So sad!
Rest in Peace Marlene. So sad her life was stolen from her. Who knows what she could have accomplished. Thank you for telling us her story and taking Us along. Stay Safe Lamont ✌️⚘️
Wondering Type OF Individual Whatever That Means? Best Quote I’ve heard in some time
Back in those days it was so much easier to lie about your age. A uncle of mine lied about his age back then to join the military and by the time my uncle was caught he then was legally old enough to be in the military. My uncle used another one of his brothers social security number(or whatever it was called back then) They didn’t have background checks available at your fingertips like they do nowadays. There was no central database to confirm age or social security numbers.Shoot in the early 2000’s it still took a week or more for employers to receive background checks. Dial up internet was the big thing in early 2000’s and not many households had that in early 2000’s.
If they Don’t Know the actual Death-Date, does the Family put the date their Loved-One went Missing on the Grave-Stone?🤔💭
