Taiwanese experts on Beijing's "regional war trap" strategy to weaken the U.S.

  • Behind the Middle Eastern crisis looms a war between China and the U.S. When Hamas attacked Israel, shocking the world, Beijing refused to condemn the attack. Its strategy in the Middle East aims to create a new conflict with a united Arab front opposing Israel. And a Chinese think tank revealed that a war in the Middle East is part of Beijing's strategy to tie up the United States and drain its resources before the two superpowers face off in the Taiwan Strait. But will this strategy work? And what lessons should Taiwan learn from this?

In WW2, the US fought a 3 1/2 front war and won. To cripple China in a war, it would only need 2 Marine Expeditionary Units (Attack Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups) to shut down 80% of China's imports, including food, oil and energy. The US has 9 plus 11 Super Carrier Battle Groups. This was the strength Mr. Wu was referring to.

The CCP has vastly underestimated the military and economic power of the United States and vastly overestimated its own power. The economies of Russia and China are already doomed. Nuclear weapons aside the military capabilities of Russia and China are pathetic. The weapons the US sends to Ukraine are very different from what it sends to Israel. The US is willing to get directly involved in major battles to defend Israel and South Korea but not at all with Ukraine. In a war against China the US would not atrack just the invasion force but targets all over China at the same time. Taiwan vows to destroy the Three Gorges Dam. That would be the worst humanitarian disaster in human history killing one third of China's population. IMO China will not attack Taiwan. It's not that stupid. But then that's what Israel thought about Hamas. So Hamas killked 1300 oeople in In Israel, wounded thousands more, and took about 150 hostages. As a consequence all of Gaza will be destroyed and it aplears all of its population will perish. A gift from China, Russia, Iran to Israel and the United States.

Just look how long it too to get the first shipment of supplies to Israel. We're good on that front. While I can not speak to Beijing's specific role in the Middle East and the current conflict. I can speak to their role is not without a cost: While the CCP may believe or project the US can only deal with a certain number of items at a single time and have set the number to four international events. Power in the US is delegated, so there is no limit to the number of international, domestic, or geopolitical events the US can juggle simultaneously. Xi Jinping likely can handle four, but I can not say that Joe Biden can handle more than one at a time - He does not need to do more than one thing at a time, because everything has been delegated.
The cost if the CCP encouraged the conflict includes but is not limited to those who were encouraged and feel betrayed. Money comes and goes, betrayal in the Middle East lasts thousands of years. The reason Iran does not like Saudi Arabia is the betrayal or conflict after the death of Muhammad in 632 on over who should succeed him.

    • @nfuryboss
      @nfuryboss Před 7 měsíci

You must understand that the Saudis see Israel as a convenient tool/partner to keep Iran and Syria in check.
A strong Shia regime like Iran would weaken Riyadh and the monarchy might be replaced or toppled.
It's in the Saudi's interest to support Israel, at least implicitly. The alternative is to face the Iranians in war and nuclear hegemony.
The Arabs who are mostly Sunnis will never get along with the Iranians of the Shia sect.
Both Turkey, Egypt, Saudi, and Iran are currently vying to be the next Middle East big brother. It used to be Egypt under Nasser/Sadat and the deposed Shah of Iran.

We must also address what hostile communist countries are doing, both domestically and abroad. Democratic Nations must stand together against their lawlessness in defense of global security, human rights, and enforce International Law.

No use of oil for a single day. Millions to speak up for peace, and oil is the cause of most wars, the black gold is at stake. If oil prices soar, innovation should kick in. What is dangerous about all these regional conflicts coming into play (e.g Afganistan, Ukraine and now Isreal) is this has happened already during the 1930s. It was these regional conflicts back then (e.g. Spanish Civil War, Fascist Italy's invasion of Abyssinia etc.) that partly lead to World War 2 and the eventual defeat and overthrow or neutralisation of three totalitarian powers, in place before the world war started (Nazi, Germany, Fascist Italy and Showa Japan. These regimes all come to a quick end by 1945 or earlier). I wonder if the CCP realizes that it is playing with fire, becoming pseudo-involved in regional conflicts by backing Russia? Somehow, I doubt they really know what they are doing and probably heading the same way as the Nazis, I.e. extinction.

CCP has a allies in the US. They go by the name: Biden Administration.
What appears as complete stupidity is actual backroom complicity with the CCP.
I could be wrong, but it appears the US is being set up to fail. If it was merely the CCP leadership vs. The mass of US people CCP wouldn't stand a chance. But the economic and Executive powers have been used to weaken the US so that a World War triumph repeat is not the plan this time.

Well done video Lei. You really manage to put all of the facts together in a way that makes sense to the average person. If the North Koreans make a move on South Korea or Japan, this will eventually lead to war fatigue here in the US, thus providing the CCP an opportunity to invade Taiwan. The only issue is time. The CCP will collapse within 10 years at most. If they can do this within about 3 years, then MAYBE they will succeed.
And as I have stated in the past, if the CCP were to EVER invade Taiwan, I will personally go back into the US military. The main reason why the CCP will fail at their plans is the COVID epidemic, plus whatever mistakes they make in the future will dissuade the world's population that the PRC is no good.
Again, great video. It is because we in the west share information that this will most likely not happen.

Lei, I have one point as you say China's policy in middle east but from various news reports and several social media reports, the very deep tunnel dug in Gaza and concreting the tunnels is not possible without help from China. Secondly various missile pipes claimed to be ordinary pipes are actually made out of defense material to withstand the shock and it says that these pipes are supplied by China. Even Chinese soldiers are caught in tunnels. If these are the correct assessments it will mean the planning to attack Israel is not a new but must have been prepared from last few years. Your views on this are appreciated.

Lei's last statement; "I hope no more lives are lost through ignorance" is morally correct but largely futile. This is because POLITICIANS almost NEVER LEARN LESSONS or they draw the wrong conclusions. Xi Jinping himself is adept at making mistakes, and after him, so is Joe Biden. What is important is that all of us invariably make mistakes, but choose carefully when making a political decision.

If that is the strategy then that would be super dumb. All it would do is put the US on war footing. Create factories for the war machine the US needs for its self and for their partners. Look at how many weapons Ukraine is getting. Israel will want them as well. It means it needs to ramp up production and they would make more than is needed so the US has some for its own defences.

For whether US is prepared for two major wars, you have to cite the US source.
Pentagon said it very clear, it could handle one major war. The middle-east one is too small. But a war with Russia or China or North Korea counts as a major war.

Thank you Lei for your thoughtful comments. One response is that history does not reflect that the State of Israel has made any efforts to establish peaceful co-existence with the Palestinian peoples. Many decades of violence against the their civilians, and since 2007 turning Gaza into the largest open-air prison in the world, does not reflect well upon the Israeli authorities. There is a pathway to peace, but not when the two extremes openly seek the extermination of the other. In between ordinary people just want to live peaceful lives.

The CCP may at the moment, be considered as merely untrustworthy, as a trading partner and as a holder of any benevolence. However, if they are seen to commit to actively aiding aggression, then they can only be seen to step into the part of enemy. This can give rise to less trade, more sanctions and a worse economy for themselves. Whether this consequence has any effect on their ambitions, or their continuing anti west agenda, it may well become quite evident to their own population. The CCP has a history of self protection through deliberate control of it's people, but it's belief it can project that control to other countries, must continue to frustrate them when it fails to work completely, hence the threatening rhetoric regularly broadcasted. The notion that Jinping and Putin have got together to pressurise America, may be considered, but even within the political scene there, as the Republicans use the Ukraine war as their personal Piñata to merely antagonise the government, actual support for wars of aggression is seemingly that of like minded dictatorships and their protégés. Even though that pursuit may be appealing to some, it rarely affords rewards that are worth the consequences in the long run. Once embarked on that path, there will be hardly any way of avoiding those consequences. It is worth remembering, “The best laid schemes o' mice an' men Gang aft a-gley.”
