The Philippines occupies a strategic position in the Pacific Ocean, as it sits close to Taiwan and its main bottlenecks. In particular the Philippines controls the southern end of the Bashi channel, which puts the Philippines in a position to make a Chinese invasion of Taiwan much more difficult. This chokepoint is one of China's main strategic weakness, especially in view of of the possible confrontation with the US. For this reason the Philippines, which now host new US bases, are in a position to halt an invasion of Taiwan. In this video we will analyze US and China's reliance on this strait and we will try to answer two major questions. Why is the Bashi Channel so important in the scenario of an invasion of Taiwan? How does this influence a possible US - China conflict?

To be frankly honest, the United States and Philippines are extremely hypocritical since they thought China was a threat when those 2 countries are also threatening China’s security, even on a larger scale than what China is doing. I doubt the United States would be happy if high-powered nukes and missiles were to be stationed in Cuba or the Baja Peninsula and then launched towards Florida or even North Carolina if they were very long-range. You would have to be completely asinine if you think the US & allies would win in this war. Let’s hope this war doesn’t happen but it rather sounds as if US & Philippines want to drag us into this war and it’s not China that want to drag us into it.

The US and its allies would win, and I doubt either Cuba, China, or even Russia would have the logistics to transport that across two oceans and possibly going through the Panama Canal, while the US enjoys itself on emphasizing on logistics more than goosestepping in parades to intimidate their enemies with wonder weapons that wouldn't be sent to the frontlines because of lack of parts and funding, either due to a toxic culture of corruption or unwillingness to send their precious jewels to be destroyed by superior technology.
Armed conflict is inevitable when the intolerable side of the PRC continues to wreak hostility towards its neighbors for innumerable times.
Desert Storm and Desert Shield made the Chinese rethink their doctrine, and I am afraid that the US would win in a war against China. Japan and Germany proved that and even the Soviet Union.

WellChina was a threat first here in the Philippines. The United States provides economic growth and protection and democracy. China doesn’t want democracy and they established the 9 dashed line across the SCS which goes through our and other countries economic zones. They ran our fishing boats, spray our fishermen and harass our navy despite them being hundreds of Km’s away from homeland. We needed protection from them first. If China wants to be more secure, they should try the diplomatic way of resolving things instead of making more enemies.
I see the Cuban missile crisis as just, yes the US placed Nukes near the USSR and the USSR placed nukes in Cuba… because they were friends. If China wants to be less threatened, they should try not threatening others and let them have freedoms

The Bashi Channel was a happy hunting grounds for US submarines in WW2. US subs decimated Japanese shipping going through there between Japan & the Dutch East indies. The Bashi Channel was a choke point for Japanese maritime shipping & most of Japan's oil came through there on heavily laden tankers. It's one of the main reasons we never had to invade Japan. US subs so depleted Japanese oil supplies, that by 1945 many of their major warships were restricted to harbors for lack of fuel. As soon as I saw this video pop up on my choice list, that's the first thing I thought of.

One mistake China made was being too aggressive in SCS, especially with the Philippines. The PH was already distancing itself from the US, starting as far as the 90s during the shutdown of US naval and air bases in the PH. They are really trying to be neutral and independent, until now. Even the recent president tried warming up with China (and was really hostile with the US) but to no avail.
Now, even the doves and anti-US politicians in the Philippines are losing their influence on the general population. It's hard to imagine having 4 new US bases (temporary and limited) in the PH, especially before the SCS issue, there's no way the PH government can get away with that. The Filipinos are fearful and angry and now returning to their oldest ally. They know war is inevitable especially when Chinese bases are just a couple of miles away from their homes, locals hear sounds of explosions and see the silhouette of Chinese ships from their shores, and their fishermen are told to scurry away by the Chinese coast guard.
And even now as of writing, the PH president is in the US, strengthening their alliance. If only China left the PH alone with their sea territories, the PH will not have to resort to allowing a substantial US military presence in their country. They would have an easier time with Taiwan, with a neutral PH.
I won't be surprised if the PH in the future will agree to give the US, proper and permanent bases, let's say reopening the Subic Naval Base (the largest US naval base back then in Asia) and the Clark Air Base.

Subtlety has never been the PRC's strong suit. Their default to any perceived slight, from John Cena calling Taiwan a country, to the US Navy steaming a carrier strike group through the Taiwan strait is exactly the same. Everyone is tired of it.
And China had the Philippines on the cusp of being a foil to the US military presence in the Pacific--the US had abandoned Subic and Clark, and Duterte was ready to make deals, but ... the so-called "long game" that China is famous for playing was too much for them. Now the US military is welcomed back to the Philippines.

Be that as it may.... what. the. fuck. is. he doing? If war this, then that.... I know America is very protective of it's hegemony status.... but 1. Maybe if the US didn't want to deteriorate that, they shouldn't have elected a senile president that's father of a fucking junky. 2. An eye for an eye leaves us all blind. You think that the US can just go in there, attack something to a nuclear power without consequences? Worse still, Syria and Ukraine are proving that the USA has the hegemony power in name only and by being a freak'n loudmouth about it. Militarily the US is already an empire in decline. It's weapons aren't up to snuff compared to latest developments in Russia/China... the heavy use of propaganda through MSM about Ukraine is a sign of weakness, not strength and if it comes to a war... the US would loose. Especially with it's military command in lala woke wonderland being far removed from the actual reality of the state of the US military. Sure, they can still best an insurgence with pitchforks, blankets and AK's in the Middle East... but an actual real war, with an actual competent nemesis country that actually has a competent military? The US doesn't stand a chance.

China made a huge strategic blunder when it continued to project its duplicitous diplomatic policies to the Philippines and continued to allow its Coast guard and fishermen-militia to bully the Philippine fishermen on bancas in the Phil Exclusive economic zone in West Phil sea.
When F. Marcos Jr was elected president, he initially followed his predecessor's foreign policy to be close to China. However, in a short time he realized how dangerous that position was.

It’ll allow other vessels to pass, and therefore force US forces to fire on them first. As for actually engaging China I would ask how come not a single NATO troop is helping fight in Ukraine? Nuclear ICBMs. Which Chinese also has and rapidly expanding. The narrator even mentioned the Cuban missile crisis but it works both ways. Do the rest of the world want to risk nuclear war for Taiwan? They certainly won’t for Ukraine.

THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "is a great last day that He save man"
"The Three Stages of Work". ... (the stage in the last days, where man will be conquered, the earliest mankind was in the hand of God, but because of Satan's temptation and corruption man was bound by Satan and fell into his hands)
      Almighty God said
The 6,000 year work of God's rule is divided into three periods: the AGE OF LAW, the AGE OF GRACE, and the AGE OF KINGDOM. These three stages of work are for the sake of the salvation of mankind, that is to say, they are for the salvation of a mankind that Satan has greatly corrupted. But, at the same time, they are also so that God can wage war against Satan. So, since the work of salvation is divided into three stages, so the war with Satan is also divided into three stages, and the two aspects of God's work will be handled simultaneously. 🙏
The SALVATION of mankind, and since the WORK of mankind's SALVATION IS NOT A THING THAT CAN BE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED IN ONE STAGE, THE WAR WITH SATAN IS ALSO DIVIDED INTO PARTS and STAGES, and THE WAR WITH SATAN WILL BE CONDUCTED ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS of MAN and the EXTENT of SATAN'S CORRUPTION in him. ☀️
Perhaps, in man's imagination, he believes that in this war God will prepare to fight against Satan, in the same way that two armies will fight against each other. This is only something that can be imagined--imagined by the human mind, and these are very vague and unrealistic ideas, but this is what people believe. And because I am saying here that the way people can be saved is through war with Satan, people think that this is how the war will be carried out. ☀️
In the WORK of MAN'S SALVATION, THREE STAGES HAVE BEEN FULFILLED, this is to SAY that the WAR with SATAN is DIVIDED into THREE STAGES before the COMPLETE DEFEAT of SATAN. But the INNER TRUTH of the total WARFARE WORK with SATAN is that its EFFECTS WILL BE OBTAINED THROUGH THE GIFTING OF MAN, and BECOMING AN OFFERING TO MAN'S SIN, FORGIVING MAN'S SINS, OVERCOMING MAN, MAKING PERFECT PERSON. In ACTUALLY, THE WAR WITH SATAN IS NOT THE READY TO FIGHT AGAINST SATAN, but the SALVATION OF MAN, WORKING IN MAN'S LIFE, and CHANGING MAN'S DISPOSITION so that he PRESENTS TESTIMONY to GOD. 🙏
This is how SATAN WAS DEFEATED. ☀️
SATAN WILL BE DEFEATED BY CHANGING THE CORRUPT DISPOSITION OF MAN. When SATAN IS DEFEATED, that is, when MAN is COMPLETELY SAFE, then the HUMMALED SATAN will ALWAYS BE BOUND, and in this way, MAN will be COMPLETELY SAVED. And so, the SPIRIT of MAN'S SALVATION is the WAR with SATAN, and the WAR with SATAN is primarily REFLECTED in MAN'S SALVATION. ☀️🙏
The STAGE in the LAST DAYS, where MAN will be CONQUERED, is the LAST STAGE in the WAR against SATAN, and this is also the WORK for the COMPLETE SALVATION of MAN from SATAN'S DOMINION. The INNER MEANING of the CONQUEST of MAN is the RETURN of the emblem of SATAN, the MAN whom SATAN HAS ATTACHED, to CREATION following His CONQUEST, THROUGH itHe will leave Satan behind and return to God forever. In this way, man will be saved forever. And so, the WORK of CONQUEST is the LAST WORK in the WAR AGAINST SATAN, and the LAST PHASE in GOD'S GOVERNMENT for the SAKE of DEFEATING SATAN. ☀️
WITHOUT THIS WORK, THE ULTIMATE SALVATION OF MAN WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE, THE COMPLETE DEFEAT OF SATAN WOULD ALSO BE IMPOSSIBLE, AND HUMANITY WOULD NEVER ENTER INTO THE WONDERFUL DESTINY, OR BE FREE FROM THE INFLUENCE OF SATAN. 🙏
Because of this, the work of saving man cannot be finished until the war with Satan is finished, because the essence of the work of God's rule is the welfare of man's salvation. THE FIRST HUMAN BEING WAS IN THE HANDS OF GOD, BUT because of SATAN'S TEMPTATION and CORRUPTION, MAN WAS BOUND BY SATAN and FELL INTO THE HANDS OF THE EVIL. 😪 Thus, SATAN became the THING TO BE DEFEATED in the WORK of GOD'S GOVERNMENT. Because MAN IS POSSESSED BY SATAN, and because MAN IS THE PRODUCT OF ALL GOD'S GOVERNMENT, IF MAN IS TO BE SAVED, THEN HE HAS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF SATAN'S HANDS, this is to say that MAN must be RECOVERED AFTER this CAPTIVE by SATAN. SATAN IS DEFEATED THROUGH CHANGES IN MAN'S OLD DISPOSITION RESTORED TO HIS ORIGINAL FEELINGS, AND IN THIS WAY, MAN, WHO HAS BEEN CAPTURED, CAN BE TAKEN AGAIN FROM SATAN'S HANDS. ☀️🙏
If MAN CAN BE FREED FROM SATAN'S INFLUENCE AND SLAVERY, SATAN WILL BE HURT, MAN WILL FINALLY BE RECOVERED, and SATAN WILL BE DEFEATED. And because MAN is FREED from SATAN'S DARK INFLUENCE, and MAN WILL BE SPOILED in ALL THESE BATTLES, and SATAN will be the THING TO BE PUNISHED AT THE TIME THIS BATTLE IS OVER, AFTER THE WHOLE WORK OF SALVATION IS DONE of HUMANITY is COMPLETE. 🙏

As a Filipino, it annoys me that a lot of people in my country think the new arrangement with the US is a bad thing and believe we can somehow stand on our own. Now to be clear, I'm proud to be a Filipino and, politically speaking, I'm not a fan of Marcos as I do have relatives that are old enough to be personally affected by the Martial Law years. However, I'm also a realist and I know for a fact that letting the US build bases here in the Philippines is the best thing to happen to us at the moment.
China is only getting more and more aggressive and has shown blatant disregard for international treaties regarding the sovereign territory of its neighbors. A nation that projects nothing but power will also only fear/respect another Nation with power to match it. And right now, it's the USA. While we are steadily improving our military, it's barely anything compared to China. Our air force barely has a dozen 4th gen fighter jets backed up by a bunch of outdated light attack/utility helicopters and no long-range bombing capability while China has hundreds of 5th Gen stealth fighters and long-range bombers that would devastate us in a hurry.
So put aside national pride for a moment because the reality is China is increasingly inching for a fight and we will not last long without backup.

Before they were even called their present-day names of Taiwan and Philippines, the natives of these two groups of islands have already been trading with each other for centuries. In fact there is a term for this, which the historians have dubbed the "Maritime Jade Network." Many artifacts have been unearthed in the regions of SEA, from vietnam to the Philippines and Taiwan. The current population of Taiwan is 23.57 Million, even if half that were to be refugees that would rival the India-Pakistan partition of 14 million displaced. Would the PLA honor a temporary cease fire? Where in the northern island of Luzon would you house 10-12 million civilian refugees? for how long? food, medicine, housing, work permits, language/cultural barriers. Their economy struggled for decades after that. But those senators were portrayed as heroes for the Sovereignty of the Philippines. In hindsight they doomed the Philippines by rejecting the protection offered by the USA and the hundreds of millions of dollars those bases brought into their economy. They lost many Islands in the South China sea to China. China already has maps depicting their maritime border as encompassing the Philippines. Now they want US bases to come back. Everyone is just fed up with it and after watching what happened to Hong Kong 4-5 years ago support for reunification has declined overall. They’re also many invisible factors involved: Taiwan industrialized decades before China so it was supremely wealthy in the 1980’s and much of China’s manufacturing production capacity was the result of Taiwanese investment. If it wasn’t for that big, unseen fact, China might have invaded Taiwan already. And because of that fact they might never follow through. It would devastate the Chinese economy.

@@frankcameratalk I think China should leave Taiwan alone. What the government said or did before 1980 has no implication on this discussion. Indonesia is a far younger country and it was all over the place with government ideaology in the 60's and 70's - it is still taken seriously as should Taiwan. China has less claim to Taiwan than Russia does on Ukraine. Taiwan was a post industrial society with world class manufacturing, elected government and amazing healthcare in the 1980s when the only thing manufactured in Mainland China was plastic toys and tens of millions had still not recovered from the mass murder of Chairman Mao. In Hong Kong, Mainland Chinese agitators used the democratic system to fund campaigns that slowly elected Beijing-friendly politicians into positions of power then shut down democracy - which was the true cause of that unrest. Thankfully for the independant nation of Taiwan there is a much more diverse group of demographics at play in Formosa, and with truly independant spirit that will not just lay down to an authoritarian regime. I've lived all over as have quite a few of us, your diatribe, your recitation of government propoganda falls on deaf ears, my friend. The Mainland has about as much claim to Taiwan as Holland does. Which is to say it has none. And the people of Taiwan that I know agree with me. If Mainland China invades Taiwan it will bankrupt itself globally, morally and financially, and will never recover. In Hk, the majority of the votes went to western supported/funded so call "pro-democracy" members, but they lose grounds because they were incompetent, watch porn website during meeting, causing damages and disruptions to the council, even vote in against democratic advancement, so they can continue to fight, to destabilize the city. The riot in 2019 was one example that they promoted destruction of the city instead of common welfare of the people. We are delighted that HK return to a safe, stable and peaceful city that we can live our life. It is easy for you (over 7000 miles away) to support instigated provocations in the region that could lead to war that people in the region will suffer, but not you and your families. So, please leave us along and let us resolve our issues in a peaceful way. By the way, Mainland China is far more advance than Taiwan now. And, I actually think Mainland China has no interest to invade or to rule over Taiwan, but will sure leave it along. The real issue is US present and aggression in the region that is a threat to China. Interestingly, China has not portrait US as an enemy, so most Chinese people are friendly to US. But, have a look in your media and people around, most people call China their enemy. You may disagree and I will respect that. Perhaps you may enlighten me what China has done to US and become an enemy?

Excellent analysis. China had a chance with Duterte. If China gave up its claim of Philippines EEZ's as per UNCLOS, it would have changed Filipino strategic thinking. But Xi Jinping is not as visionary as Deng Xiaoping. Xi insisted it "owns" the South China Sea. Even "allowing" Filipinos to exploit that EEZ for 50 years(maybe) can be earthshaking in that region. Today, even a Code of Conduct will not be sufficient to turn around strategic evaluations.

Tell American navy to stay the F away from west PH sea then maybe the Chinese will remove military bases there.

Exactly my thoughts. A lot of Filipinos would've sided with the Chinese and allowed them to peacefully build their bases if only they didn't bully our navy and the poor fishermen and just focused only in helping us develop. Fucking idiots. Now Marcos has no choice to bring in uncle sam to counter their shit. Wasted opportuniy by China, now they're gonna get attacked from all angles.

@@zxp8272 You are absolutely correct, Pee. Each nation on God's Green Earth only looks at its own self interest. China only look at its own selfish reasons to claim "ownership" of South China Sea. The US has its own selfish national interests that China doesn't act, with its military, that it actually owns SCS. The Philippines own selfish national interests is that it controls its EEZ according to 1982 UNCLOS. The US and Filipino selfish national interests are the same in the SCS. Therefore, the US and Filipinos are allies against China "ownership" of SCS. The US, being a superpower, bring along other allies like UK, Japan, South Korea, EU etc etc to the equation. Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia(other SCS coastal states) have similar national interests as the Filipinos and US but are not as active as military allies. Which relevant nation support China in the SCS? Zero. Big fat zero. Xi Jinping should have a good look at that situation. Putin is finding out the hard way when it invaded Ukraine for "historical rights".

That's because Han Chinese don't respect Filipinos You really have to understand that. As I've stated elsewhere in this comment thread Filipinos can come to the United States and there is basically nothing stopping them from holding any office in the land and becoming American in every way. Many Filipinos already are. China will never let a Filipino achieve anything worthwhile in China. Why? There are racists in America and racists in China, but America is evolving and changing China will never change. China will never respect the Philippines in the same way that the USA will. All the Chinese know for the last 1000 years is they are the center and everyone should pay tribute to them. You can't form a base of power and influence in China. Filipinos can achieve anything in the United States

we here at the phils, already aware of situation, and we are ready to face the consequences, when the worst of the worse could happen, invasion of taiwan, first, it is closest to our geographic location, from the most northern tip of batanes, when war broke out, islands of batanes could also be invaded as well, because it has a main shipping lines, whether we dont want to involve,, it is our responsibility to protect those islands and our neighbor taiwan, helping taiwan by sending additional troops repel the invasion and prevent possible invasion of batanes is visible.

When I heard news US would establish several military bases in Philipines, I was so gland and relieved. I know US force stationed in Philipines will be an extremely powerful deterrent to China (or more precicely, CCP).

fantastic animation. I think there is an issue with the frame rate though - there is a noticeable jump every few frames. I believe the animations frame rate differ from the one used while editing and exporting the final video, which usually gives this effect. Please take this as a positive feedback, this issue has happened to me. Again, great content.
