Hope this Video is Helpful to Anyone Wanting to Rebuild their Yamaha Blaster or Learn About 2 Stroke Top End Rebuilds!
That piston is clapped
@@quadbrothers5801 clapped???
What 2 stroke oil did you use could you show me
This really helps, i just bought one and i discovered the piston was broken
Holy crap that was chewed. My 95 Blaster had a block off plate for the oil injection and came loose that smoked my top end. $150 later I was rebuilt with a new WiseCo kit. Great how to fellas, this will help lots of guys out.
Thanks Hank
I really appreciate this vid! I'm in the process of rebuilding a 92, and this is the best vid I've found so far! Thanks again, you just gained another sub.
Thank you!
appreciate it brother,, im almost finished cause of ur vid!! been 9 years since a rebuild.
Another great how to video I'm a big fan of air cooled 2 strokes I like to see that 4 Wheeler on the track you take care my friends and have a wonderful day with your MOM'S
You just got yourself a new follower buddy👍
So I figured out something from a blaster who's been working with Blasters for almost 35-40 years and it makes total sense you do have to rejet if you're going to premix because even if you have more oil that means less gas and you'll be running lean which I absolutely believe it makes sense that when he explained it to me so what I recommend going up one jet if you're doing 32 to 1 only go up one if you're doing 25 to 1 to be on the safe side you have to go up two holes
Yup makes sense. But I ran stock jetting 230 with pipe and reeds premix no issues
@@bearkreekboys move the clip needle position next best solution and costs nothing
Thank you I’m 13 and got a 2002 blaster to rebuild
Awesome let me know if u need any further help this video is a good full in depth rebuild should help you alot
MMO yeah helped me a lot I got everything done went to go but the piston in the rod and ended up having the wrong size bearing
@@bearkreekboys I have an question I was told to not use cheap parts on the top end for an blaster some people are saying they don’t last long so what do I do get an like go the rebuild kit offline or do I the expensive route which is like over 400 dollars for just cylinder not counting the piston
Not a question when you do the Reed valves are you supposed to use both those paper gaskets one underneath the cage and one underneath the intake boot is there supposed to be one where the intake boot has cuz I got 2 gaskets or is that an extra gasket
One on each side of the Reed cage
Whats the base gasget made out of???
Hey what do you use to tighten the base notes because my open and can't get in there did either hits the frame or hits the knob on the clutch cover
Might need to grind a wrench to fit better. Get a cheap one and grind down the outside.
Would a kit like this work on a 200 that has had a 50 bore kit? This is my first rebuild kit and i bought the wheeler from someone who said they installed a 50 bore kit. Thanks
Yes because you would be taking it back to stock bore with a new cylinder and piston etx
Do you have an updated link these links don’t work anymore 😢
I’m getting an fmf powercore 2 pipe, would I need to reset my carb
I would say yes fmf probably has a recommendation on their site for that pipe and the blaster i would think 1 or 2 sizes on main jet perhaps needle adjust too?
So my blaster is Frankenstein how would I know what rebuild kit I should buy or are they all universal?
If u get this kit it will put it back to standard bore and you can have a fresh top end. The cylinder will be new as well. Only thing would be if it had a longer rod and had a stroker kit put in. That's the only thing that would concern, don't want piston hitting the head lol
flat side towards clutch side fits like a glove, why?
Is your blaster running good?
I just used that piston and got stuff u did how long will it last
It will last a quite a long time as long as you run good oil and take care of it
I bought the same rebuild kit 2 times and both times the circlips come off and destroy my top end what am I doing wrong
Use oem circlips and wrist pin and bearing. Cheap insurance
Is that a new jug? Did you hone out the old jug or go up a piston size?
New jug std size all components and bore
What sockets do you need to remove the nuts on the top and then the four the hold on the bottom
If they are original should be 12mm on top and maybe the bottom too otherwise 13mm on bottom
They r both M8x1.25 thread
@@bearkreekboys thanks
I rebuilt my dads blaster for him and it was really easy I just wanted to see if other people did it the same as me and I did it in 20 minutes and 2 people is so over kill
there is no way you can do a top and rebuild in 20 minutes there's just no way I've done so many of them there's no way I could do it in 20 minutes
So my kids blaster died and the kickstart got stuck. Does that most likely mean I’ll need a new top end ? I’m trying to see what I’ll need to buy before I open it up. I’ll need new top end , spark plug , air filter ? Or do need to open it up first and then go from there ?
I would definitely open it up first and check do you know if it went tight as in you heard it stop or is it like the kickstarter is bound up and nothing to do with the engine it could be one of two different things but you'll definitely have to investigate before you buy anything that would be the right way to do it
@@bearkreekboys so we were both riding along side of each other and suddenly his atv slowed down , turned off and the kickstart got stuck. I threw it on the trailer and haven’t looked at it since.
@@nike1rosa that just happened to mine 2day did u ever figure it out
@@andresgonzalez4006 yeah we opened up the engine case. Ended up needing a new bottom end & top end. Replaced both bottom end & top end and atv runs perfect again
What ratio oil to gas would you use
32:1 for break in then 40:1
Are we all having this problem on our blasters? Seems like I’m always seeing a top end rebuild video for blasters. We’re they not made well?
Hey bro our bolts to the top and bottom are stripped can I cut them a replace them or am I literally screwed
Try to remove them and get new studs
Thats what i wanna know. My Phillips screw bolts on the bottom end are stripped
@@jacobanderson1911 what Phillips screws r u talking about?
@@bearkreekboys the little ones that hold the case on the bottom. I know it's a question pertaining too the bottom end. Was gonna check out the bottom end too. But cant get the tiny Phillips head screws off. Their all stripped.
We got ours off just to find out the piston broke into pieces ..too get all the pieces out we may have to rebuild the bottom end or flush it I'm not sure
Niceeeee
How do you do the pounds of knots?
What?
So did you find out why the top end on yours went bad it wasn't because lack of oil or was it because the top end kit is cheap I'm just wondering I don't want to waste my time with a cheap one and I might get a better one if the cheap is the reason why It died if the cheap ones are fine and I'll use the cheap one
They r good there definitely was lack of oil present I've used multiple kits all went good and lasted
This looks very familiar?
What wiseco wrist pin bearing do you get?
Part number in description I believe
Or the link to it
How did u get on with the kit i have to do same but my kit is 150 € and want to no is it worth it
That kit works well I've used it multiple times just don't use the cheap wrist pin bearing. Get a wiseco one.
@@bearkreekboys much oil in petrol we do it in litres would u no
I use 4 oz of oil to gallon which is 32:1 mix no clue what that is in your measurements
For the rings there fitting kinda big is that normal
Ring end gap should be typically .015 to 030 inches
Is there anyway I can send you a picture
Instagram is in my description
It’s the same torque even with the flat washers
1:48 why'd make that noise lmao
how is the kit holding up ?
I've had good luck many have lasted 2 or more years. I sold that quad to someone but never heard back
@@bearkreekboys ohh ok nice 👌
Why does the pistol have a cut out on the top of it and the oem one doesn’t
Piston
That's basically a cheap port job it acts like raising the exhaust Port it's supposed to make it rev a little higher and make power a little bit higher RPM that's all
@@bearkreekboys so it’s better?
@@bearkreekboys or would a oem one be better
@@jaydenbiddick4058 its not really gonna be noticable difference. oem piston is always better than those. Ive had luck with the cheap ones, never had any failures.
how good is the rebuild kit?
It is reliable if done right and using good oil
Ok. Im always skeptical of buying parts off eBay and I think I'm starting to hear a piston slap. This will also be my first small engine rebuild.
@@ChristianHelser999 ive had good luck just be sure to check all parts and cylinder ports for burrs
Still skeptical of the ebay kits
You located in Minnesota by chance lol
Wisconsin
@@bearkreekboys how far from Minneapolis? And how much to rebuild I ran it too lean and zero compression now
That a Chinese rebuild kit I see? 90$?
You forgot to mention the ring gaps need to be opposite faced
Hmmm try again. Ur incorrect.
Thanks for the info helped fixed my blaster. But I couldn’t get over that moan at 1:50
Hahahah
Its really not that much more epensive to have your stock cylinder bored and to get the next size pro x piston and gaskets and wrist pin bearing.
True true but then u get fresh everything
Where can I take my blaster to get Bored out ?
