This is a beautiful rose clay face mask recipe for dry, sensitive, or mature skin. My skin isn't necessarily dry or mature, but I still love it! It's easy to put together, and so lovely to enjoy. The different ingredients help to moisturize and soothe skin, and also reduce inflammation and redness. This mask also gently exfoliates and cleanses, and leaves skin soft, clear, and glowing. Ingredients:
6 tbsp aloe vera gel
4 tbsp pink clay
12 tbsp white kaolin clay
1 tsp powdered chamomile
1 tsp powdered rose hips
6 drops rose absolute essential oil
12 drops natural preservative (optional; use if you’re going to store mask at room temperature for more than a day or so)
Directions:
Measure clays and aloe vera and mix together thoroughly.
Add powdered herbs, essential oil, and preservative, if using. Mix well.
Use immediately, or store in glass jar with lid for later use.

I have heard the same thing! It would probably be best to use wooden or plastic utensils. Maybe you could find a plastic coated whisk and use a big glass bowl :)

Yes! I used to sell these. With the preservative the shelf life is around 6 months or more.

I made mask according to the recipe but I didn't use pink clay only kaolin so it seems to be a bit fluffy and not pasty! Do you think adding oil will help?
Interesting! I've never tried it that way. I'm not sure about adding oil. If you want it a softer consistency, you could add a little more aloe vera :)

Yes you can, but it will change the color to be darker.
I’ve been meaning to make this mask for the longest time. I have had an allergic reaction to something and in the healing process my skin feels like rhino skin. I have been using all sorts of oils/butters etc. So I made the mask with what i had I.e. aloe gel (straight from the leaf) kaolin clay & rose hip oil. I cannot tell you the difference it has made to my skin after one use. It’s amazing! So am going to order the other ingredients to follow your recipe. 1 question, I can’t use chamomile, any suggestions for an alternative? I’m excited to make this, might turn out to be the best face mask I’ve ever used. Thank you for sharing.
I'm so glad! I'm not sure about an alternative to chamomile, but it should still be quite nice if you just leave it out. Hope that helps!

I find they combine very well on their own, no emulsifier needed :)

Dont use metal when mixing or storing clay to keep its properties.
hi may i ask if i can use phenoxyethanol instead of natural preservative? and what other things to use except powdered rose hips? (it's hard to find rose hips powder here in Philippines :( )
I'm not sure, I don't have any experience with phenoxyethanol. You can leave the rose hips out if you can't find them, or use another vitamin C rich herb. Hope that helps!

If you have some sort of vitamin C powder, that might work. The main purpose for the rose hips is their high vitamin C content. Or, you could leave it out, and the mask is still very nice with all the other ingredients.
QUESTION DO IT MATTER WHAT PRESERVATIVE YOU USE LIKE THE OPTIPHEN PLUS OR THE Regular OPTIPHEN just asking Bec it burns my face for a sec than it stop so is that a bad thing
I've only used optiphen plus, so I'm not sure what the regular optiphen is like. For people with sensitive skin, I recommend leaving the preservative out. Hope that helps!
Does it need to have an emulsifier or something? I have been trying to formulate and I am just completely lost when it comes to do I add Cetyl alcohol or not.
I just stir it together and have never had any issues :)

I haven't tried that before, but if it is good for skincare use, and you know your skin does well with it, it should be fine :)

You could, but I don't think it would have the same vitamin C content and beneficial properties that the rose hips do.

Yes! Just water should work fine. You might use less water, since it is thinner than aloe vera. :)
Bumblebee Apothecary hey I’ve try it today, I put water, a tps of coconut oil and the preservative I did it in the morning and I like it but when I try to do it at night it’s was burning do you know why? I’m scared if that happens to my clients

@@velonyboutique4418 That's interesting, it shouldn't burn! I have never made it with coconut oil before. If you follow the recipe exactly it should work. But some people may be sensitive to some of the ingredients. Maybe try it with just clay and aloe vera, and see how that works.
I want to make this for my sister but she's allergic to aloe vera. Is there another ingredient I can use instead that would still give that luxurious texture?
That’s so nice of you! I would recommend something like rose water as a good substitute. You might need to use a little less, since aloe vera is thicker. 💕

You can definitely double or triple it or make as much as you like. There are online calculators to convert drops, teaspoons, etc. into larger amounts :)

Never mix clays with metal utensils
I heard of that for bentonite clay, but I wasn't aware of it being an issue with other clays. Where can I learn more on this?
