2 years late, but... I like to imagine he lands on a command platform or an observation post that's, like, barely 10-ish yards away, and he annoys all the other clones because he jetpacks everywhere. Or something like that. :P
The first scene is actually brilliant because it showcases the tension between clones and their Jedi commanders. Obi Wan is impatient at the prospect of a 4 month siege because as skilled a combatant as he is, he’s not a qualified commander, unfamiliar with the everyday realities of war. Cody on the other hand is excited bc as a military man, he’s just happy to see things going on schedule for once.
In the pre-TCW EU, the Jedi would often come into conflict with their Clone Commanders in a lot of things to do with tactics and strategy. The Clones were naturally more educated in war than their Jedi superiors, but were often stuck following less than ideal orders. I don’t recall TCW dealing with this concept much out of the Umbara arc, and even that was different as the “Jedi” actively hated his Clones, rather than just being tactically inept.
the last time obi wan got pissed off he cut the limbs off a groomed and traumatized orphan before leaving him to be extra crispy at a fucking volcano planet
They had went to take down the shield generator that was preventing the troops from going on with the attack properly. So they went and took it down. I guess after all that, they called it a day.
Obi Wan sounding tired and wanting to leave urgently says "But we've been here a month already..." And then Cody is just like "Yes sir, we are right on schedule :D" -leaves
Can we just take a second to appreciate how effective and prepared Cody was as a military commander. That shield wasn’t coming down for literally months. But when it goes down hours after he gives his report, without so much as a moment of surprise, Cody already has forces in place to begin the actual attack, and proceeds immediately as if that was the plan all along. (Admittedly Kenobi probably told him ahead of time too, but still, to gather and prepare in what was most likely hours is still impressive)
This is a fun ass series but it’s so jarring to see how robotic the clones are portrayed here compared to TCW. Like I remember Capt Fordo tells Ki Adi Mundi all his friends are dead without a hint of emotion haha
As much as I love clones like Rex cause of their character I feel like them being more robotic makes sense wince they're bred for war and nothing else. It also makes order 66 more understandable without having to rely on chips in the clones heads.
@@bluerath yup, that's a big difference between how legends and TCW portray the clone wars. The way clones behaved in legends made 66 make sense, while keeping the ethical question about soldiers following orders.
