Becca, all of this to say (😆), you are SUPERWOMAN! You grew and raised a child and finished this greenhouse within 2 years. That is incredible! I hope that as time goes on, you grow even prouder of this accomplishment. I know someone with a Yoderbilt greenhouse like you featured on this video, and while it is beautiful, I think they would agree that they don’t feel it is quite as special; and they still had to do plenty of work that took close to a year to perfect it. I hope that despite your family’s frequent moves, you can come back to enjoy this greenhouse for years to come! We are all so proud of you!
The red stain is good! It matches bricks and teracota which you are using a lot of. It also compliments well all the green from plants so it makes a really nice and vivid space ^-^

Crying again 🥲 your reveal video and this one are such great reviews of the whole process not only logistically but also the meaning behind it all. I think so often, like you said, we see project videos on CZcams and while they are very helpful guides they are completed so fast and not much is discussed about the work and commitment it takes. NOT TO MENTION that you entered your mommy era during this whole thing!!! I so appreciate the greenhouse series and follow up videos and can’t wait to see more content in the greenhouse 💕

I would totally watch a video breaking down line item costs of the build. Obviously not every little thing, but the major components. You’ve already got the b roll and could just do a voice over with text detailing the cost of each major step and an estimate of how many labor hours went into it would be extremely helpful too. Always appreciate your transparency!

You're glowing as you sweat. LOL! I love this space so much. Thanks for sharing all the details. My husband and I are talking about a greenhouse on our property. I'm in South Bend, IN and winter is very cold here so that would be the only thing I'm concern about. I probably would need to buy a building because the lack of tool makes this project even more costly.

Just to make you feel better,my husband and I have renovated in over 40 years,and believe you I feel what you feel. Doing things ourselves is cheaper but much more stronger as you get to pick better quality materials,put extra screws/nail/glue 😅 as it’s for you and you want it last forever.
Many a times I would compare it with someone else’s project that did it the flat pack way or had someone else build it,but my hubby is a tradesperson in many areas of building and would keep reminding me of the difference it makes building it yourself. Custom made suits your personal preference and get to choose exactly how you want things.
Yes the downside of it is,the time it takes to build it,running into unforeseen things that you didn’t account for,mentally and emotionally draining, blah blah blah!
It’s very difficult to compare a stain or pain on a small patch,it looks completely different once it’s on a much larger scale.
We have made so many errors on paints and stains,they look great on a small area but when you paint the whole space,it’s a different story.
It’s a choice of getting what you had envisioned with all the pain or putting up a quick version of what you might not be that happy with or worry about the integrity of the building,not saying that’s not a good thing. It’s all up the choice of the person getting what they want.Different strokes for different ppl,and believe me,if you had some else build what you built yourself,it would cost you X 3 if not!

I think the stain is showing up well in your videos. It may look different in person, but I think it looks very pretty.

Move the pest control outside and allow your little one to use the cabinets for toys and books!

This is entirely unrelated to your video, but I’m in love with your glasses. Do you mind sharing where you got them?
This may sound stupid but the one side with the long wire shelf is that for plants to be stored like I wasn't certain if you were going to add in shelves or hanging plants or your long term personal plant goals.

Love hearing your honest opinions about the whole process and if you would do it again! So proud of you for sticking with it and it came out amazing! Also I think the stain colour looks fantastic with all the terracotta and that lovely green paint colour!
Curious…could you use greenhouse shade paint instead of the cloth? Might be less expensive then replacing the shade cloth repeatedly and you could paint it on the inside? Just not sure if you can use it on the polycarbonate though or just glass.

The greenhouse build was pretty inexpensive in my opinion. It was probably a good thing it took two years, you got time to think it out. If it went up quickly you would have been in a hurry to finish the inside and would have wanted to change some things 😀🇨🇦
How much would be reasonable to pay the structural engineer advice and blueprints from an architect??
