    Correction for Cabal synnergy: Dimensional Tear - the tech card/sheet specifically says 'This system is a gravity rift; your ships do not roll for this gravity rift' so no reason for Nekro to destroy themselves :)

    A fun one that I experienced was a 3 health cruiser. They stole Ul's Saturn engine and the barony's 2 canceled hits tech. It was a nasty combo a 3 move 3 health ship with 2 capacity (they also used the hero to get the red regen tech)

  • @UnreasonableOpinions
    @UnreasonableOpinions Před rokem +1

    The agent is better than it seems; people often get so scared of you turning on them for tech they don’t trade with you, so this lets you turn the tokens you get a surplus of into the trade goods you won’t have.

  • @normative
    @normative Před 3 lety +4

    Maybe too obvious to need mentioning, but those mechs synchronize very nicely with the Nekkro Flagship-making each mech in its system the equivalent of a Super Dreadnought ii that doesn’t count against fleet supply (against assimilated opponents). And as long as an opponent owns a faction tech, you can even gain the +2 in the middle of space combat. Spicy!

      If you're fighting Saardak and take their universal +1, you've basically got War Suns just by jumping in with flagship and mechs. And if you get actual war suns with mechs, your opponents will probably call hax and flip the table.

  • @FlyboyChuck88
    @FlyboyChuck88 Před 3 lety +13

    Unit Upgrade technologies do not have a "specialty" (ie. even though they have various colored requirements, they have no 'color' themselves) and so you can't use the Hero to gain a unit tech, unfortunately. If you can nab Assault Cannon off of a red tech planet with it though, it will certainly *feel* like a universal unit upgrade!

  • @barnabyalsop5601

    The Hero is nasty and versatile; gaining juicy techs like Destroyer II or Warsuns; grabbing Infantry II to go with the flagship; stocking up on trade goods for scoring objectives - many possibilities!
    The Commander is excellent as well, and the combo with the agent is perfect!
    Those Mechs are going to prove very nasty seeing as you can switch out technologies during space combat so that during the invasion you gain the +2. Probably worth reserving one of the Assimilator techs for this purpose!

    A command token is worth less for nekros because it is easy for them to get so the agent is actually really good for them and in combination with the commander it is lot easier to get action cards which you can use with the agent still better than to throw some away because you have too much.

Does that mean I can then research any tech that has more then just 1 yellow with me not having any yellow techs? And what about those combined ones? Can I research a tech that has.. let's say 3 red and 1 yellow prerequisite?

    • @DarthRadical

    I'm not sure about new tech combos, but it's kind of fun that Nekro can steal the upgraded flagship tech from Nomad to completely change how their flagship plays.
    Edit Fun combo:
    - Nekro gets Assault Cannon
    - bring Alastor + 3 mechs into combat with Nomad
    - Use Alastor's ability to bring mechs into space combat
    - Use Assault Cannon to kill a Nomad ship, gaining the Memoria II tech
    - Use Memoria II's anti-fighter barrage, also the mechs are hitting on 4s

      @@andreslozano3000 Getting 6 command counters (for 6 resources) isn't something to sniff at, and well worth a strategy card. The only reason Nekro might not take the Technology strategy card semi-consistently is that they're hoping a neighbor will get 2 techs for them to steal instead of 1. It's basically a better version of the Leadership card for them except it's late in the turn order (which isn't always bad).
      Really - Nekro usually end up with at least as many command tokens as Sol. Whenever someone else plays tech, getting 2 command tokens for 4 resources is a steal.
