Hey folks, this is a re-upload of the Naalu video as there was a mistake in the original. Thanks to the early viewers for finding the error :)
Hey thanks for all the great content, FYI this video isn't in the play list with all the other factions tutorials.
(Copy and paste comment from the original video - because typing is work!)
The Naalu were already a top tier faction, so it's nice to see these leaders steering them further down the political/sneaky side of things without making them extra overpowered. The agent is pretty weak, but immensely fun and could be game changing if the next agenda has VPs attached to it. Let's also not forget how gloriously thematic it is!
I especially like the idea of a well-timed Hero potentially stealing a Support for the Throne (if you are very fortunate!) or at least gaining early leverage over several players after a heavy round of transactions.
As for the commander: MOAR fighters!!! Who could possibly complain?!
MOAR indeed :)
Awsome , i was waiting for your new video. Keep up the good work!
Thanks :)
Thanks for all the vids! Always informative!
My pleasure!
I had 2 games so far with naalu in the expansion .. it is funny that in both games was a mentak player i had an alliance with and both games i won. The mentak commander plus the naalu hero is a devastating combo. Also the naalu commander is stronger than you might think lets say you have 2 space docks in 1 system for like 8 prduction (and you should have a double space dock system.with the naalu) with that you can produce 12 fighters for 4 ressources (basically 12 cruisers which normally would cost 24 ressources and a high fleet pool). What the naalu hindered in the base game is gone with this commander. Absolutely top tier only argent flight counters them really hard now. So.if you want to play naalu just ban argent in the draft and you are good.
I think rule breaker is right to assume them as top tier.
Thanks Leyo. I think Naalu might even have a chance to be the best faction in the game.
We have a player that has finished 2nd two times. Interesting to see what she thinks about new stuff. I really enjoy these videos. keep up the great work.
Glad you enjoy it!
I found this on my own, but it seems to be missing from the playlist that you have of all of your faction videos.
We give every player a choice of 4 factions for a game, so that you don't have multiple people wanting to be Federation of Sol or the Emirates of Hacan. I've previously played 2 of the 4 options I have, and I love trying something new, so I'm debating between this faction and the Titans of Ul. I am leaning toward this one, because I think it fits my play style better than Ul.
Naalu are so fun.
I assume the agent is phrased that way so you can bargain with others and so if someone has no promissory notes it doesn’t fail to do anything (due to evil Rule Lawyers).
Yeah, maybe!
Naalu: "Beyond the might of my majestic Fighter II fleet"
Argent Flight: "Hello there."
If anything, the Naalu got a pretty big hit by the nerf bat if you include the PoK expansion. Their mediocre agents syncs really poorly with each other and the base toolkit.
I dunno, I think the rampaging waves of Hybrid Crystal Fighter II units is mighty.
It seems to me like the Naalu Hero ability is ridiculously underwhelming compared to others out there. One time, I get to collect whatever trash promisory notes people want to toss at me? Be still my beating heart. If the Naalu player could choose the card, sure. Otherwise, you will never get anything worthwhile with it. I don't see the point.
@@shoftiel1 well, u can mby sell it to someone who sees worth in it. Like , ceasefire or something.
Do you have an update to this video with the new Codex III Agent and Commander? They change things up considerably for the faction.
There's a mention of all this in the Codex 3 video coming very shortly. I won't do a new version of the video, I don't think, as I don't want to confuse people coming in to play without having Codex 3.
Sorry, I meant finished second two times playing Naalu.
I think this one isn't in your playlist, if u want to double check.
Thanks for the heads up
Does Naalu commander alliance add +1 fighter to Muaat agent, when he produce 2->3 fighter with its action? (free with sarweentools)
That's a weird situation, however because the Muaat agent specifically says up to two units I think that would override the third unit from the Naalu commander. That's my take on the rule but perhaps the Naalu commander overrides the limit of two from the Muaat agent. The stars basically have to align to activate this anyways sense the Naalu have to have the alliance and have their flagship or War Sun in that system.
Hey Rulebreaker, what are your thoughts on this weird interaction/rule?
The Naalu commander grants you the ability to make one more fighter without it counting to the PRODUCTION limit. That means that it only works with units that have PRODUCTION.
The Muaat agent lets you "produce" up to two units. It does not give the production ability to said unit.
I would say that the two unit limit must be respected, and the Naalu Commander does not change this limitation.
