Fantastic job. I’m new to TI, and have found ALL your TI videos invaluable in learning to play. I’ll be hosting my first full 6 player game next month, and we’re using your videos to learn all the basics, and each player’s chosen faction a couple weeks before we play. Thanks SO much for the extremely high quality work; it’s helping us new players a ton.

Will there be a video on the new 3rd codex that came out a few weeks ago?

any thoughts on doing one of these for Codex III?

Great job! Very informative. Let me again state how much I enjoy watching your videos because YOU SHOW THE GAME NOT YOURSELF! So many videos show mostly the presenter and that is not nearly as informative as seeing the game (and game parts) being discussed with presenter as voice only and background. Thanks again - most presenters do not do this. Can't wait for your next video.

Thanks. Again, I don't understand the videos where we're just looking at a dude in front of a camera. Makes no sense to me.

Arborec, Saar, and Nekro are the only 3 I don't let new players play at all.
Arborec is very punishing if you don't have a firm grip on how the rules work and what you need to rush/how to rush it effectively (hint, you don't want to move before you have sarween tools if you can), and are even more specific about what planets they want near them. My pick for hardest faction to play for sure.
Saar is mostly because, again, players won't know what to value/how to value things properly and can easy get stuck not knowing how to properly defend borders and manage what resources they actually need to keep vs what not to fight over.
Nekro players tend to go pure aggro if they don't have much experience with the game, and doing so too early causes them to just do nothing. Again, they don't know how to value things yet.
Cabal is a 2, maybe a 1. Capturing is not that complicated, and unlike nekro, they actually *can* go full aggro and be fine because of rebuilding for free. The rules are a bit wordy, but very easy to understand in game.
Muaat would have been a 2 boarding 3 if it wasn't for their new agent vastly improving their early game and easy access to war sun 2 on t1/2. Now I put em at the higher end of one.
Mentak are a solid middle 2. I have new players play them often and they aren't that bad for having to remember stuff.
I agree with the other stuff's rating.

Can't argue there. I think Cabal gets a bump purely for how many things you need to know before you can even grok their abilities.

I really enjoyed the end where you discuss each faction.
By any chance, is there any guide for 1st-time players on how to choose a faction for their first game?

      I could put something together.

This would be really cool, a good quick pitch for each faction to a newcomer

Yeah, I can see that being something that I do in the future.

Stack all faction cards. Remove the Nekro Virus and all the of the Prophecy of Kings factions. Deal 2 -3 randomly and pick whichever one seems most interesting

Not a huge amount of gameplay changes, but the Codex has value in other regards.

I agree with most of the complexity ratings. Complexity 3 belongs with strange factions, or ones where you can misunderstand and play them wrong. Arborec aren't complex, but if you don't catch on to the intended snowball effect you can completely ruin your first game and not even notice for half the game.
