Bullet Train Bentos in Japan

- Japan has a huge variety of bentos (Japanese lunchbox) to eat on their Shinkansens (Bullet trains).
They are Ekiben (Eki = Train station Ben = Bento) and are sold around the Shinkasens station in Japan
Here are 9 interesting bentos you can get to eat on the train, there is even one that can heat up your food
This video was film in December & early January, stay safe everyone!
this channel's litrally my favorite, no talking, no clickbait, no nothing, it's literally food on point
Yess, i love it. Its so nice discovering different types of meal
This literally makes me want to visit to Japan . Enjoy the atmosphere of it without annoying “Look at what I’m doing”
Another good channel is “I will always travel for food” it’s similar to this one
Nino's home
Ikr so peaceful
“An assortment of foods that kids like”... And I’m thinking “YES! I want that one that comes in the train box!!!”
Same!!!!
I so want that.
Same. I guess the novelty of such things doesn't wear of on those of us.
@@smallsthetimelord4066 I wonder if any of that's on ebay. I would look so cute going to work with a train bento box. and maybe that cute little octopus jar
@@jacksparrowismydaddy I think the octopus jar would be a great pot for a plant. Maybe something of Japanese origin to commemorate the trip.
The man right beside him : ''Damn he never stop eating or what?""
Hahaha, in some clips he’s in a different spot so maybe he got into a new train
read the description. this video was filmed between December and January
@@nerium9762 r/woosh
@@nerium9762 i mean I am speaking the truth it was a joke and you kept it too serious
@@ishigami4622 please stop,you're embarrassing yourself
So even the pre-packaged food on trains in Japan is better than anywhere else in the world. Damn you Japan.
The bentos were $10 each... but sure, let’s compare that to the $1.99 sandwiches you’ll buy in the US.
All I see is odd flavors on rice.
@@joepglass bruh odd flavor
@@ThisisBarris Japanese 7-11s still better. My boyfriend is currently in Japan and has found the 7-11 to be great quality and low price. He’s also keeping track of the gluten free options for when I get to visit him when he works in Japan. I am planning on just 7-11.
Ikr! Even Japan's moving companies. Check out Rachel and Jun channel titled, We hired a Japanese moving company. Wow, just wow.
eggs in japan seem like they just hit different.
They are very high-quality in Japan. You won't get salmonella by eating the raw eggs there either.
OlyMolly no wonder my mom said only eat the raws in japan because america sucks low quality
Dude eggs in japan are fucking magic
I've had a lot of different egg dishes in Japan and they honestly do not compare to anywhere else.
My local japanese grocery has eggs from japan. I only buy japanese eggs now.
Everyone is saying how hungry they are and here it’s me thinking the amount of food this person has consume a one way
yeah theyre livin the dream
Lucia Villalta The description says that this filmed throughout a month.
Based on the position of the seats and the trajectory the train was going, they took a total of 5 trips during December and January.
Lmao, could eat the first 3 easily if I'm hungry xD
@@SuperBoat-su7xc Lol coomer.
Man, the Japanese really take it to the next level when it comes to presentation. All of those boxes not only looked beautiful, they seem well worth the price as well. Except maybe the sandwich one.
I can tell you from personal experience that sandwich one is WELL worth it. 🤤
@@Jennifer-ok6cv Totally agree!! The bread they use is amazing!!
Craftsmanship and attention to detail are revered in Japan, and so this is reflected in their products and just about every facet of their lives. It is stressful but it produces beautiful results
That sandwich looked tasty. Made me want an egg salad sandwich
7:52 That synced up perfectly.
Made me laugh, it's like a sims music theme after cooking or leveling up hahaha.
it's a universal phenomenon that children everywhere prefer tendies/nuggies, they just call it something different in other countries
Cuz it's simple and savory, not something you have to pretend to like until you learn to appreciate
And that any store bought sandwich will hide the fact that its 90% air with the packaging...
@@sly-fi6502 bro, it's not like chicken tenders are the only tasty meal and people simply pretend to like everything else. Grow up
@@giorgig4828 no shit, there are many factors, think for yourself.
why is there a comment war? Can’t we just enjoy our tendies/nuggies??
Even I'm 21 years old I still want that train bento box 😂😂😂
Cheesy Minions I’m 43 and I want 1😂
I’m 32 and I’d totally get that box. :)
24 and still want that train shaped bento
reni mutiari got to admit, the Japanese make everything so awesome.
I'm 49 and I totally want it.
the expectation vs reality in japan is always true to their advertised looks, like dayum that crab, salmon roe, and sea urchin looks exactly like the display, no fake advertisement at all
this guy just comes in and CONSUMES the entire machine, love it like always
This guy is not a guy, she is a woman
*Everyone:* read the description it says it was shot within 1-2 months
*Me:* all of a sudden I cannot read
I refuse to believe I wanna believe that the truth is out there that he actuslly ate everything under 17 minutes and made me hungry

train workers: Why is he always coming to the train so much?
I’m glad you pointed that out because the whole time I was like “is this guy just riding the train back and forth all day to eat bento boxes?” Lol
I really want to visit Japan so bad. Hopefully after this virus goes away I can. Great video as always, keep them coming!
Black Beard Gamer I second this! ☺️
Want to join me? My relatives live there! Lol.
Let's all go to Japan after the pandemic
Me too, Im learning Japanese as well, I wish the best for you!
come here to indonesia, here are lots of delicious food, interesting places, lots of tourist attractions, lots of culture, you will be happy and of course learn a lot here with super friendly people , i'll wait 😁😘
As a grown japanese guy, that shinkansen shaped bento box reminds me of my childhood. So nostalgic. Whenever I had a school trip and had to take bento box with me, I’ve asked my mom to put bunch of fried chickens or every other meaty stuff possible in the box, knowing those will be all soggy and not taste perfect when I eat them.
After thirty minutes of quietly eating ten packed lunches by himself, the man sitting next to you on the train finally breaks the ice by asking if you would hand model his persimmon leaf sushi. He then pulls out the grand finale, a tried and true classic: Dr. Yellow Sandwich.
That train container is genius and now I want one
Me too! 🚅
It's super cute!! and erm hey fellow moo🤭
@MOONSUN is MARRIED I recognize you lmao hey
the sound of the train makes me sleepy
yea, I fall asleep during car rides easily cuz the white noise of the car zooming is so soothing
Just don't fall asleep on the tracks...
I believe it’s called white noise
You will if it's night... sometimes daylight you can and will enjoy the view.
I'm a fellow who works a lot, so I love to see videos of variety bentos, lunchboxes, and ekiben like this to inspire me to make new things for work. I need a lot of energy these days especially as a pharmacy technician. Thank you for these wholesome, kind videos. I hope we get through this pandemic together.
Okay but can we just appreciate how quiet that train is, In the US you wouldn’t be able to hear a thing (no offense to the people who live in the US)
The passenegers would be too busy yelling about how gross your food looks and smells lol
@@amylee3531 the person next to you would be screaming about how you’re eating food next to them and how it offends them
It can't be offensive if it's true (I live and was born in the US so yeah) the only car that is quiet sometimes is the very front
Or the screaming child behind you that sounds like all the souls of hell are being tortured by satan himself
As a person in the US, I can confirm they are noisy.
Why did I die laughing when the timer kept falling over
I was cheering for it to fall over one last time.
Me too I wanted it to fall again so badly what is wrong with me 😭
I said, "Dude give up." XDDD

@@sweetXroll haha edgy haha
Why is this so funny?!
It looks fancy and delicious, and pricey. But my mom would definitely buy this just because she wanted to take those beautiful packaging/boxes, as a souvenir. 😅
Not all eki-ben are that much. Even the cheaper “lower quality” ones were better than any train food I’ve gotten in the US.
Awww that's so cute
Me too, you cannot fault Japanese presentation in everything they do
Lol i can relate to this
A ready made, fresh & delicious meal of great quality in a train station is worth $10! Of course you can bring food purchased elsewhere (which is what I do here in the US depending on what the station offers) or from home.
You should see some of the unappetizing meals sold in US airports, which are definitely "pricey"!
This train is just so quite and chill i would love to just put a blanket and play some games. Or just sleep
makes me realise how much I want to even just visit Japan some day - the food looks amazing!
Pyro Teknich man right now even going to the park next door looks like a dream

I have been to Japan, and I can verify 100% that the food there tastes amazing. Even their fast food is much higher-quality than what we have here in the U.S., for the most part.
Am I the only one laughing when the timer keeps falling down everytime he fixed it?
Timer: *falls*
Dancing bacons: *fixes it in place to prevent falling*
Timer: *still falls*
Timer: I do what I want
I love how vulnerable this video is compared to many of their others. We got to see the guy’s godlike chopstick skills, yet the messy mishaps from opening packages proved he was as human as any of us. The lady though, she might be infallible
I miss those days of riding the Shin with my dad........ we'd always find good food on trips....this brings back memories. 😭😭
Riding in the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto was one of the coolest things ever. It felt like you were riding an airplane on the ground. It was so smooth and amazing to watch the scenery zip by.
Made the same trip. And I loved the attendant that quietly comes around announcing snacks. So soft spoken and unintrusive. I totally bought anpan
7:52 lmao the bell sound from the train matched up very well when he opened the meal
japan: the sample look exactly the same with the real food
indonesia: in ur dream
Mimpi mu 😭
Philippines also Lmao
I know who is in your profile
I remember eating one of the bentos when I went there with my family. It was so fresh it feels like something from a 5 star restaurant. My mom said it was pretty cheap too. All in all great:3
I wonder what other people think when they see someone with a gopro strapped to their nose
that must mean you walk around with a gopro all day. I've seen it once. I thought " look there's someone with a goprostrapped to their nose" It was an older model GoPro
They think "is that logan guy back again"
Like I been wondering what he looks like while filming or how he do that.....🤣
oh wait really? i just assumed he had a tripod resting on his legs. lmao and i thought the tripod thing was strange but this is weirder.
He has an action cam pinned to his shirt lol
I just realized that he doesn't get to say "itadakimasu" before he eats anything, so now I'm doing it my head for him.

This brings back such great memories. Especially the musical tones on the and woman voice on the train. I love Japan ❤️
I’m in the car, and I have really bad motion sickness. I feel like I’m gonna throw up but I still want to eat this really bad lol
Guess you havent been told reading, playing games, cellphones/tablets are VERY bad to do if u suffer from travel sickness. Its not just the motion of the car. When ur eyes focus on the book/phone etc, your pereferal vision is catching the movement outside the windows. This is what triggers the nausea. My son used to have it really bad. Just sharing a tip that helped him! :)
Also another tip: sour patch kids or sour coated candies work GREAT for pukiness!
@@amylee3531 i’ve tried this and it only sometimes helps me 😭 i just gotta turn on music and sleep if i don’t wanna be carsick
@@lucyblair8667 yeah same i do that too and my parents take this as a sign i'm 'sleep deprived' and i shouldn't be sleeping when going somewhere that takes less than 1 hour. bruh

That's what the creator of the channel wants
Please don't tell me I was the only one that thought the sushi bento was a box of candies at first 😔
no worries bud
ok i wont tell.
Life is like a box of chocolates
Don't worry,I did too,and several other people
I _knew_ it wasn't a box of candies and it still kinda looked that way
I love the very concept of the ekiben. You always get great food from the different regions of Japan and sometimes you get a few nice collectibles.
the presentation of the packaging and food is beyond most western meal packages, hope for more in the future :)
9:58 I love how he says "chunky thick octopus greets you at the top" that's cute and I'm now hungry, dammit
Notice how he misspelled chunky.
@@meh9104 Dude they're from a non-English speaking country
Aw man, I’m hungry again.
Edit: this is a long train ride.
Its a bullet train its meant to be like 2 hours
Floofy Doge In the description it says this was recorded in December and he went again in January, I thought the same thing, a lot of food for one long train ride! Lol... My dad, sister, her hubby and the group of people from their church orchestra, all went to Japan and they all got to go on the bullet train! They loved it and the way to see a lot of the cities around... real fast! Lol
Iden Versio it kinda depends on the how big the bento is and how long the ride is, because a train from Tokyo to Osaka can take up to 4 hours, and if you’re eating a small portion bento than yes, you’re going to get hungry, and it honestly depend on the person it self.
I appreciate you telling us what each food is. Thank you for your series. I have watched many of them and love the smiles.
This was great! I really miss Japan, and I feel like I got a little culinary mind vacation with this! Captured very nicely the serenity and eye for detail and quality that Japan has!
Japan is so organised, their cuisine is the best in my opinion, i would love to live there in the future
Except how their country is ran poorly
Visiting is ok, but I wouldn't recommend living there as a foreigner.
Silence Speaks visiting isnt just ok, its insane, and i would live there as a foreigner
@@lipton5428 Oh ok...I respect that. To each of their own. It's just that Japanese people aren't that friendly to foreigners. Well yes, they're hospitable, but it's hard to make friends there. If you're an introvert, then you won't have any problems. You can still mingle with other foreigners...but with Japanese, that's hard to achieve. Just saying.
Silence Speaks ah okay thanks

Hi Dancing Bacon's, I love your channel. ❤ This is the second time I watched this video. LoL 😂 I watched it awhile ago and here I am again. It's very relaxing and I love your commentary for the food and products. My grandmother was Japanese and Korean I was raised on mixed cultured food. Japanese culture has been one of my biggest influences. I have Japanese, Korean, British, African, Native American and Spanish cultures in my family. Thank you for sharing your culture.
