      Thanks. Hoping to start hitting it with finish soon, the top should really pop once the clear coat hits it.

      Pretty good for the cheap electronic that came with it and even better with the Sonoran Custom Wound Pickups I upgraded it with. Final couple videos coming very soon.

    Thanks for addressing this I think they have another model with the 58 V style neck joint too I will probably order one of those next, I am more concerned about the heel and how close that is to a Gibson V I was thinking it may be a bit bulky like a bolt on, great vids and it looks great thanks!

      The heel is a bit more bulky then on the Gibson, but it can easily be shaped into what ever contour you like. There is plenty of excess wood that you could carve away and still have a very stable glue joint. I'll actually be doing some of that prior to applying finish and will be covering it in the next Ep of this build.

      @@billsguitargarage Thank you! That is what I was hoping to do and I am a complete beginner so I will be paying attention thanks again!

    I actually agree with you on the neck joint. Of course James plays mainly lower on the neck so the heel transition doesn't really come into play that often. It's whatever you want man. I would say, if it's good enough for you, it's good enough for us!! You do awesome work and if you say it's good then I'm certain it is! Peace and Love brother.

      Yeah, this was just a fun idea that popped in my head while watching a recent video of Metallica on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
      I'll be doing some adjustments to the neck heel to make it a bit less bulky.

    If I was James Hetfield, I wouldn't really care. I would never have to access anything above the 17th fret, and I wouldn't even want to, because my action is set so crazy high for them killer riffs.
    But I'm not, and I appreciate being able to comfortably bend and run down that 22th fret when I have to. If the neck joint doesn't facilitate this, I'm filing that shit. And if the joint fails, well then the whole thing was just expensive firewood to begin with.

      @billsguitargarage  Před 9 měsíci +1

      There is plenty of wood left for a stable joint if you wanted to file in access for the upper frets.
